Jackie Warner, the former reality TV star who was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon in February, struck an incredible plea deal that keeps her out of jail. In fact, she's essentially free and clear.
On Feb. 24 the former Bravo star crashed her car, but apparently has no recollection of the incident, saying she was "sleep driving."
In the accident, Jackie hit a pole while she was driving. However, when cops arrived, she backed up into a cop car, causing a deputy to jump out of harm's way.
On June 28, TMZ reported that all of her charges — two counts of DUI, one count of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of hit and run — were dismissed.
The report says that Jackie pled no contest to a new charge commonly known as "wet reckless," which is a much lesser offense than DUI. For her no contest plea, Jackie will be on informal probation for two years, attend a 12 hour alcohol education course and pay a fine, TMZ said.
The circumstances surrounding the accident were rather bizarre. Prior to the accident, the one-time "Work Out" and "Thintervention" host said she had one alcoholic drink at lunch, but didn't drive to or from the restaurant. When she returned home she says she took an Ambien pill and went to sleep. She then woke up in the hospital, apparently with no recollection of ever leaving her home or driving.
After the wreck, Jackie was given a breathalyzer and blew a .11, making her legally drunk, which certainly threw water on her story that she had only one drink at lunch. But, in court, it was discovered that that could have been true. When Jackie returned home from the hospital, TMZ said she found empty beer cans but she had no recollection of drinking them (the lunchtime drink and the beer could have easily gotten her legally drunk.)
Pals of Jackie said that her outfit at the time of the crash proves she wasn't aware what she was doing — she was not wearing pants. In fact, her attorney argued in court that Jackie was so unaware of her actions that she walked into a convenience store without pants and bought an ice cream sandwich, which, of course, isn't exactly normal behavior.
