The Weeknd treats Selena Gomez to a private movie date
The Weeknd is sparing no expense when it comes to entertaining his new lady. On Wednesday, March 15, the Toronto native rented out a theater for $1,200 in his hometown so he and Selena Gomez could watch "Get Out" in privacy. According to etalk (via the Daily Mail), the couple ordered a pair of gin and tonics, plus a slew of Diet Cokes, popcorn and candy for the show. "She was super cute with him … arms around his neck," said a source. One potentially unromantic effect with The Weeknd's otherwise lovely gesture? It could spark a new round of trolling from Selena's ex, Justin Bieber. After all, the Biebs rented out an AMC theater in Times Square for a date with Chantel Jeffries last year. And in 2011, he rented out a theater and, later, the entire Staples Center, for a date with — wait for it — Selena. D'oh.

Is Tyra Banks being a diva on the set of 'AGT'?
Before Tyra Banks took over for Nick Cannon at "America's Got Talent," production assistants were reportedly warned about her reputation for being demanding on set. TMZ, however, reports she's demonstrated no diva behavior in her first week with the show. Producers, meanwhile, are reportedly saying they have 'loved her over-the-top approach, which is 'way different'" than Nick Cannon's, according to the website. Earlier this week, Nick showed Tyra she had his full support as the show's new host by sending her flowers and a card.

Beyonce wants her mom to knock of the bad jokes on Instagram
"JEEZ, mom, can you PUH-leeze stop posting embarrassing stuff on Instagram like those jokes you like to tell in videos? Ugh!" That's apparently the gist of what Beyonce recently told Tina Knowles, judging from Tina's new IG post. "Good Morning Sunshines❤️Happy Thursday. haha You guys are misunderstanding what I was saying, or I didn't explain it well," she wrote in the caption to a video of herself telling an admittedly not-great joke (via Jezebel). Tina continued: "Beyonce was saying it's obvious mama that you are videoing several jokes at a time . ( on the same day) you don't have to put one out everyday. When I said good light I meant literally good light!!! Gods light! Haha not a spiritual lite. So I was saying if I look okay in the light I'm going to video several at the same time. My children never try to take my light from me." She signed off with this pearl of truth: "But I don't t think anyone likes their mom on instagram," she pointed out. "Do you?" And just like that, we are all Beyonce.

Kim Kardashian outearns her sisters on sponsored social media posts
Without their paydays for sponsored social media posts, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian would earn about 25 percent less than they normally do. That's according to Michael Heller, the CEO of Talent Resources, the digital marketing firm that handles many of the sisters' online brand deals. In an interview with Us Weekly, the marketing exec said companies shell out as much as $500,000 to have Kim post about them to her 94.8 million Instagram followers. Khloe and Kourtney, who have 64.1 million and 54.3 million followers, can earn $250,000 for social media posts. "They only endorse what aligns with their lifestyle," Michael says in reference to the waist trainers, weight loss teas and other items they've promoted. "They turn a lot down."
DASH store vandalized
The Kardashians may be racking up social media dollars, but they don't seem to be earning everyone's love in Los Angeles this week. On Wednesday, March 15, the same night Kendall Jenner's home was burglarized, the DASH store owned by her half-sisters Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, was vandalized. A photo published on TMZ shows red spray paint being cleaned off the window of the store on Melrose Avenue.
Police called to Michael Bay's mansion after intruder report
Add Michael Bay's neighbors to the list of folks with little love for the director. He reportedly called police to his 30,000 square-foot mansion in Los Angeles' Bel Air neighborhood this week, asking them to investigate a report of an alleged intruder Michael believes was dangerous. According to the New York Post, cops sent two noisy helicopters with searchlights to the home, while about six squad cars zoomed around his neighborhood, which is also home to celebs including Meg Ryan and Jennifer Aniston. The tab reports neighbors were "not smiling" about the police activity, which apparently last for a long period of time.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy wants more kids
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is all about fatherhood. The "Dancing With the Stars" pro welcomed a son two months ago with Peta Murgatroyd and he's already craving more children. "Yes, I would like to have as many kids as Peta decides to pop out," he told E! News.. "I think we're going to have as many kids as we can ourselves and just adopt a couple of kids. I just want a big family." Part of the reason he loves parenthood so much the potential good parenting has to make the world a better place by raising a good person. "I feel like the best part of having a child is you get to influence a brand-new human," he says. "If you're going to complain about some of the things happening in the world nowadays, you need to look at the generation that you are raising and say 'OK, the best way to change or to alter or to upgrade this world is to instill things in your children that you want them to have as adults and push that out.'" He even has his formula for parenting down. "We're just going to rely on one another and rely on our love, our unity," he says, "and the sky is the limit."
Jessica Lange disses Kellyanne Conway
"Feud" star Jessica Lange is apparently having her very own, real-life feud with KellyAnne Conway. Speaking to Stephen Colbert this week, she explained her issue with the controversial adviser to Donald Trump in movie terms. "… I'm carrying on a feud with Kellyanne Conway in my head," she admitted (via the Daily Mail). Why? Try this on for size: "Your agent calls you, You've been offered this part. One of the most important women in the government right now. She's a counsel to the president. She's a spokesperson. And then you pick up the script, you read it, and you think, 'They've got to be kidding!' You've got a scene where you talk about alternative facts. You've got a scene where you imagine that the microwave is turning into a camera." The Hollywood veteran concluded with this burn: "I mean, you go to the inauguration dressed as a nutcracker?! … Nobody is gonna take this character seriously. She's a joke."
Jennifer Garner nearly breaks down testifying about early childhood programs in DC
Making movies isn't the only work that's important to Jennifer Garner these days. The actress and mother of three has also served as an ambassador for Save the Children since 2014. On Thursday, March 16, she spoke on behalf of the organization's support of early childhood education programs at a hearing for the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Subcommittee. "I make a point to try and get out and do as many site visits as possible. Mothers come up to me and say, 'Can you help get my child into these programs? Can you just nudge us up in the wait list? Is there anything you could do?' The thought that I would have to go back to these mothers and say, 'Well, no, there is nothing I can do…,'" she said with emotion in her voice, according to Us Weekly. "These families know what it is to have this intervention and they know what they're losing when it's gone and I'll have to answer to it. So that is what matters to me, selfishly, sir." She went on to point out why neglect happens — pointing out that it's usually due to situations beyond parents' control. "It's easy to escape responsibility for disgrace like that by blaming the parents," she said. "'Who doesn't talk to a child? Who doesn't sing to their child?' I'll tell you who. Parents who have lived their whole lives with the stresses that come, with food scarcity, with lack of adequate shelter, with drug addiction and abuse. Parents who were left on the floor when they were children, ignored by their parents who had to choose as one out of three mothers in this country do, between providing food or a clean diaper for their children. Poverty dulls the senses, it saps hope, it destroys the will."
Liam Payne explains why he loves Cheryl Cole
Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole's baby-to-be is probably going to learn, firsthand, what real love looks like. Example A? Liam's new interview in Rollacoaster magazine, where he uses a plethora of positive adjectives to describe the sheer joy he gets from building a life with a woman he calls his "dream girl." "This is the thing: In a non-cliché way, it's weird waking up every day and literally living out your dream …," he said (via E! News). "Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world, and she's absolutely amazing. She's been my dream girl since I was younger. She's so ace." The One Direction singer, who started dating his British pop singing colleague in 2016 after meeting her years prior on "The X Factor," went on to acknowledge Cheryl, who is 10 year older than he is, has also helped him navigate his music career. "She is a wonderful, wonderful person, and it's amazing to have someone who can relate to so much of things — someone who's taken greater steps than me. Her solo career was amazing. She's been in the industry for 14 years now," he said. "We're super happy. It's a very personal, precious time for us. I'm still learning. I'm only 23."
