Fashion hits and misses from the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards

The stars aligned for the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena, California, on April 30, and it was an afternoon of mixed celeb style, to say the least! Wonderwall.com rounded up the best and worst looks from the annual event, which honors excellence in all fields of daytime broadcast production. Keep reading to check 'em out, starting with what Erika Jayne donned. The reality TV star channeled Old Hollywood in a simple white gown with a massive diamond cuff bracelet and wore her blonde mane in loose waves. We have to say: This might be the best she's ever looked!

So cute! Christina El Moussa looks flawless every time, but we especially loved the black fit-and-flare minidress that she wore during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. It was fancy enough for the occasion while also appropriate for the event's sweltering late-afternoon red carpet.

We adore Maria Menounos, so it broke our hearts to see her in the structured blush confection she wore during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. It did wonders for her curves, sure, but with her messy updo and dark lipstick, it was all wrong.

From the waist up, we were totally into the gown Tamera Mowry-Housley donned during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. The embellished, sheer bodice was super-sexy! But then we got a load of the bizarre pleated princess skirt, which featured alternating white and nude panels.

Don't get us wrong: Adrienne Bailon Houghton looked absolutely gorgeous during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. We just weren't wild about her dress, which gave us major Anna Nicole Smith vibes. Between the shimmery pink fabric, dangerously low-cut neckline and hip-high slit, it was just too much.

Oh, dear. Margaret Cho donned one of the worst looks of the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards: a star-print, knee-length, long-sleeved dress with a middle slit and plunging neckline with red tights and platform ankle-boots.

While we can't deny that Tamar Braxton looked smoking-hot during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards, we really wish she'd worn something a little more age-appropriate. It's not that she didn't rock this white-and-gold princess gown with a plunging neckline. It's just that we feel like it'd be better suited for a teenager. Sorry, Tamar.

Disco is NOT dead! Garcelle Beauvais channeled the swinging seventies in an asymmetrical white dress with a silver panel on one half of the bodice and a midi-cape on the other during the 2017 Daytime Emmys Awards.

Vanna White also should've gotten the memo about '70s style during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. She chose a one-sleeved beaded halter dress that was not retro in the good way.

Kelly Monaco also wore white — a popular choice — during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. Unfortunately for the "General Hospital" star, by the time we got to her look — a simple spaghetti-strap sheath with a plunging neckline — we were totally over this trend!

She's still got it! Susan Lucci looked anything but mellow in a yellow mermaid gown during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. (Guys, she turned 70 last year.)

Trisha Yearwood looked fantastic in a simple black gown with a keyhole cutout at the bust and sheer embellished sleeves during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Someone should've warned Reign Edwards that the high-low trend is so done — and that temperatures in Los Angeles would be hovering around the mid-80s during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. The "Bold and the Beautiful" star was swimming in super-stiff fabric, and between the high neckline, long sleeves and unnecessarily lengthy train of her gown, we found ourselves worrying that she might get heatstroke.

Warning: Dangerous curves ahead! Nancy O'Dell flaunted her figure in a curve-hugging, one-shoulder gown during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. It's not our favorite dress of all time, but she looks so darn good in it, we have to keep our mouths shut!

Terri Seymour disappointed during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards in a metallic midi-length dress that at first glance appeared to be separates. In fact, the sheath featured a weird sheer underlay that was visible at the neckline, hemline and midriff. Next!

Jeannie Mai was a vision in white (again!) during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. She donned a gorgeous, loose-fitting dress with a high neckline during the star-studded event.

Soap star Kelly Sullivan channeled Elvira in a sheer black lace dress, which she wore with a belt featuring a feathery bow, during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. She looked beautiful, no doubt, but we wish she'd paid heed to the keyword in the event title: They're called the "Daytime" Emmys, Kel. Daytime.

"The Young and the Restless" star Stacy Haiduk also wore a sheer black dress during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards that would've been better suited for an evening affair. To make matters wore, her getup just didn't seem to fit right.

Aisha Tyler worked an embroidered sleeveless minidress during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards, and we were all about it!

Tracey Edmonds looked red-hot during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards in a red dress with a sheer panel down the bust and across the midriff. There's just one problem: We've already seen several stars rock this exact same dress at other events.

We were not fans of the befuddling gown that Mary Hart wore during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. The off-the-shoulder, long-sleeved beaded bodice featured a geometric print but the black-and-blue skirt was just basic pleated tulle. Why?!

Don't drown, Daphne Oz! The writer and hostess swam in a midi-length, kimono-inspired dress with voluminous sleeves and a thigh-high slit that gave us mixed messages during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards.

We love it when men think outside the box when it comes to their red carpet style, but "The Bold and the Beautiful" star Pierson Fode probably should've reigned it in during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. His shiny blue three-piece tux featured black leather lapels and a low-cut, rounded vest. He completed his look with smoking slippers in yet another fabric: velvet.

Ross Mathews mixed things up during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards, pairing a colorful, floral-print jacket with black slacks, a black tie and black shoes. While we dug the jacket, we think it would've looked much better with different colored pants and accessories.

"Life in Pieces" and "The Young and the Restless" star Hunter King looked lovely in a curve-hugging blue grown with a plunging neckline during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. It wasn't the evening's most memorable look, but we liked it just fine!

We likey! "The Bold and the Beautiful" star Heather Tom donned a sheer dress featuring a gold Art Deco print and wore her long tresses in tucked fingerwaves to give us major Old Hollywood vibes during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards.

We usually love a floral print — especially during the spring — but we just weren't feeling the embossed gown, which oddly featured flowers on only the middle of the skirt, that "Inside Edition" host Lisa Guerrero wore during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Teen actress Eden McCoy donned an age- (and weather!) appropriate ensemble during the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards. The 13-year-old "General Hospital" actress paired a sleeveless white blouse with a colorful bell skirt. Cute!
