Liam Hemsworth's ring explained
Following speculation that the ring Liam Hemsworth was spotted wearing during a friendly hang with Miley Cyrus' mom Tish Cyrus was a wedding ring, E! News is reporting what the band really represents. "He wears that ring as more of a 'promise' to Miley, but they are not officially married," an insider tells the website. "The only thing that is missing is the legal piece of paper. The pair is not focused on planning a wedding at this time. They are more focused on making their love as strong as possible." Liam and Miley initially called off their engagement in 2013. Around New Year's Day 2016, they were spotted kissing in Australia and have since acknowledged they are back together.
Could Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie call off their divorce?
It's been a tumultuous year for Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie since Angelina filed for divorce last fall. But things are reportedly calming down for the exes and their six kids, a shift that's leading some to suggest a reconciliation — or even a rekindled romance — could be in the works. "We're all trying our best to heal our family," Angelina told Vanity Fair shortly after she moved into the Loz Feliz neighborhood where Brad lives. In fact, one source tells Us Weekly, "the divorce is off," adding, "they haven't done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to." That declaration sounds a bit premature, but after the pair spent nearly 12 years together, we don't doubt the notion that Angelina still loves Brad, as a second source told the tab she does. That insider points to Brad's commitment to stay sober as proof he wants his family to see him in the best light, including Angelina. Speaking to GQ, Brad recently explained how his upbringing affected mistakes he's made as a dad and, perhaps, as a husband. "I grew up with a father-knows-best/war mentality — the father is all-powerful, super-strong — instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles," he said. "And it's hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven't been great at it." A friend of Angelina's tells Us the actress and director would consider trying to repair their relationship "if he showed he was committed to raising a family." The source continued: "He knew he had a problem that he had to take care of. And that's all she ever wanted. Everyone thinks they are going to get back together. It wouldn't be surprising if they announced that they're calling it off and trying to work things out."
Rihanna apologizes to Diplo … sort of
#SorryNotSorry much, Rihanna? RiRi posted an Instagram photo this week of a headline decrying how she dodged collaborating with Diplo because, as the DJ told GQ in an interview, she told him "his song reminded her of a reggae song at an airport." Ahem. She caught wind of the interview and, apparently, the headline-smirks it inspired across the Interwebs, and responded on Instagram with an apology best suited for a "bad girl" such as herself: "#DutyFree 😂😂😂 My bad @diplo."

Chloe Grace Moretz on her feud with Kim Kardashian West: 'There's a lot of woman-on-woman hate'
Oh, hey, Chloe Grace Moretz isn't quite done with Kim Kardashian yet. In the actress' new Variety cover story, she weighs in multiple issues plaguing Hollywood, from the gender pay gap to on-set fam-shaming, which she experienced at the ripe, old age of 15. Chloe also revisits her 2016 Twitter feud with Kim Kardashian West, which began when Chloe responded to Kim's (latest) nude selfie post by tweeting, "I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies." Kim's reply? "Let's all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is," and a jab about that time Chloe posed, semi-nude (albeit covered mostly by a coat) on the cover of Paper magazine. Fast forward to 2017 and Variety wants to know how Chloe feels about the feud now. "It's sad for [Kim] to reach out like that to a young woman," Chloe says. "There's a lot of woman-on-woman hate." She and Kim have reportedly had no contact since their back-and-forth on social media last year.

New details about Taylor Swift's sexual assault trial
Taylor Swift and former Colorado radio DJ David Mueller continue their trial this week and although photography is not allowed in the courtroom, sketches and some details have emerged regarding what's going on in the sexual assault case. To rewind, David and Taylor posed for a photo together at a meet and greet in 2013 when, according to Taylor, the DJ reached up her skirt and groped her. She told the station her story and the DJ was promptly fired from 98.5 KYGO. That's when David sued Taylor, claiming her allegations were false. Taylor countersued him for assault and battery and the two appeared in court for the first time together on Monday, Aug. "Mueller absolutely unequivocally denies he put his hand under her skirt and grabbed her bottom or touched her inappropriately," said the DJ's lawyer Gabe McFarland, according to E! News. He went on to say his client "has been hurt and wants his good name back and he wants to be fairly compensated for income he lost and ability to earn income in the future." Taylor's attorney Douglas Baldridge later said the singer is "taking a stand for all women" and noted to the jury, made up of six women and two men, this is a "case of sexual assault in the work place. … A woman is assaulted. She reports it and she gets sued … it doesn't make sense. She's trying to tell people out there that you can say no when someone grabs you no matter who they are," he said. An onlooker told E!: "As [David] took the stand Taylor watched intently. … His voice was cracking as he told the story of working his dream job at the radio station. … She was staring at David and focused on every single thing he said." In his testimony, the DJ asserted that his "hand came into contact with a part of her body … what seemed to be a ribcage or ribs." His lawyer asked if it could have been her rear and he said "no." He also said his claim against Taylor was not an attempt to reap a cash reward, calling that notion a "humiliating thing to be accused of something that despicable." The Daily Mail has reported Taylor is expected to testify.
Aaron Carter says he knew he was bisexual by age 12 or 13
It turns out Nick Carter has been thinking about announcing his bisexuality for some time. In a new interview for the Wednesday, Aug. 9 edition of "The Bert Show," he said he knew he was attracted to both men and women since he was 12 or 13, according to Us Weekly. As for his announcement, which acknowledged he'd been intimate with a male he was attracted to when he was 17, he said: "To be honest, I've been thinking about it for years. I just felt like it was something that I needed to do. It was something that I just felt like was important and I needed to say. It was a part of a new chapter of turning 30, on Dec. 7 this year." The revelation, he added, was't easy for his now-ex-girlfriend Madison Beer to comprehend. "I had discussed it with my ex-girlfriend, and she didn't really understand it. She didn't want [to]. And that was it. So we left it mutual and parted ways." While he says he finds "men and women attractive and that's never gonna change," he also praised his fans and others for supporting his decision to go public. "I was blown away," he said. "My fans know that I'm a heart on my sleeve kinda guy."
Emilia Clarke, Lena Headley's phone numbers leaked in HBO hack
The FBI is investigating a hack into HBO's systems that now includes a leak of cell phone numbers and addresses for "Game of Thrones" stars including Emilia Clarke and Lena Headley and Peter Dinklage. According to the New York Post, the hackers have claimed they have access to 1.5 terabytes of data. They've already leaked a "GoT" episode script, plus scripts for "Ballers" and "Room 104." They're now demanding what they've called "our 6-month salary in Bitcoin," which the Post reports is believed to be at least $6 million. They reportedly want the money this week or they say they will leak the final three episodes of "GoT" Season 7. According to Verge, the recent leak of an episode of "GoT" shortly before its air date stemmed from a distribution partner's accident.
Bill Murray's trip to see 'Groundhog Day' on Broadway will give you all the feels
It seems as if every time Bill Murray leaves his house , the world becomes, just for a moment, a happier place. Take the "Groundhog Day" star's recent visit to the August Wilson Theatre in New York City, where Bill went to check out the Broadway version of his beloved 1993 do-ver (and over …) flick. The New York Times reports Bill rewarded theater-goers with a plethora of reactions. He also gave fans plenty of "one-liners" before and after the show, according to the Times, which noted he "immediately started bobbing his head to the music" when the show started, he shared "gestures and guffaws" plus some fist-pumps during the first act and by the end he was said to be "visibly sobbing." After the show, he posed for selfies and chatted with adults and kids in the theater. Speaking to the audience he emoted a little bit more. "The idea that we just have to try again," he marveled in reference to the message of the film. "We just have to try again. It's such a beautiful, powerful idea." Bill Murray for president, please.
LuAnn de Lesseps says she'll always be part-countess despite having lost the title
"Poor Luann. She loved being a countess." So says a source in the Aug. 8 edition of the New York Post (to the sounds of the world's tiniest and possibly most gilded violin). It seems when the "Real Housewives of New York" star decided to divorce her husband of less than a year Tom D'Agostino the decision came with a realization that she'd basically given up her erstwhile title for nothing. LuAnn earned the "countess" title via her 1993 marriage to French Count Alexandre de Lesseps. Though they divorced in 2009, she was able to continue using it — until she remarried, saying "I do" to Tom. This week, she texted a statement about the title to the tab. It included an interesting typo. "I was married to my first has been [sic] for a long time and had two children with him," she wrote. "The countess will always be a part of who I am."
Amber Rose plans to pursue restraining order against Wiz Khalifa's mom: Report
Amber Rose filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa in 2014, but the tensions between Amber and her former mother-in-law are as high as ever. Earlier this month, TMZ reported Katie Wimbush-Polk sued Amber for defamation, claiming Amber accused Katie of being responsible for the lymphoma-related death of one of her children and of being "unfit" to continue her role as a grandmother to Sebastian, the son Amber shares with Wiz. The nasty comments Katie's accusing Amber of, she says, came after California Child Welfare Services visited Amber — an incident Amber blames on Katie. Now, Amber is reportedly in the process of hiring a legal team to help her get a restraining order against Katie, whom she says has been out to get her since she split from Wiz. Amber reportedly wants Katie to stay away from both Amber and her son.
