Britney Spears' dad temporarily steps down as her conservator
A judge gave Britney Spears a new conservator over her person on Sept. 9 after her father, Jamie Spears, asked to temporarily step down due to health concerns. The pop star's longtime care manager, Jodi Montgomery, has the same powers as Jamie — who remains the conservator of Britney's finances — according to legal docs filed in Los Angeles. Jamie's departure after more than 11 years as the pop star's conservator comes just a few days after her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, filed a police report accusing Jamie of physically attacking their 13-year-old son.

The Beatles didn't want "Abbey Road" to be their last album, new audio reveals
The Beatles never planned for "Abbey Road" to be their last album, according to new audio obtained by The Guardian. The audio, captured on John Lennon's tape recorder on Sept. 8, 1969, and given to The Guardian by rock historian Mark Lewisohn, features the band talking about their plans to record another album and John suggesting that he, Paul McCartney and George Harrison should all record four songs each, with two from Ringo Starr "if he wants them."

Domestic violence lawsuit against Trey Songz dropped
A domestic violence lawsuit filed against Trey Songz was dropped on Sept. 11 after the woman who accused him filed a request for dismissal with prejudice. The woman originally accused Trey, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, of assault, battery and false imprisonment during the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.

Eddie Money, Daniel Johnston pass away
"Take Me Home Tonight" and "Two Tickets to Paradise" hitmaker Eddie Money (pictured) died on Sept. 13 at 70, his family confirmed. Less than a month earlier, Eddie revealed that he'd been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Daniel Johnston, a prominent singer and songwriter based in Austin who was the subject of the 2005 documentary "The Devil & Daniel Johnston," died on Sept. 11 after suffering a heart attack. He was 58.
Dionne Warwick's $7 million case with IRS dismissed
Dionne Warwick and the IRS have dropped competing lawsuits against each other, according to legal documents revealed by The Blast on Sept. 6. The soul singer asked the court to dismiss $7 million in tax debt from 1990 to 2008 — she believed it had been dealt with in her 2013 bankruptcy case — and to stop the IRS from seizing her assets. The IRS, meanwhile, accused Dionne of still owing the government millions in unpaid debt.
Kanye West demolishes dome structures after authorities order them torn down
In early September, Kanye West began to tear down several dome-like structures he built on a 300-acre piece of land in Calabasas, California, after neighbors complained to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works about construction noise. City inspectors found that the domes– which the rapper believe could be used as an affordable housing alternative — violated building codes and ordered that they be torn down by mid-September unless Kanye secured the proper permits.
1991 royalty check made out to Kurt Cobain found in Seattle record store
Employees at a Seattle record store got a fun surprise when they found a 1991 check addressed to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Easy Street Records discovered the check for $26.57 from Broadcast Music Inc. made out to Kurt, which was dated March 6, 1991 — a few months before Nirvana released their first mainstream album, "Nevermind."

The pop star shared a photo on Instagram of himself with a mustache — a very similar look to the one The Weeknd debuted at the premiere of "Uncut Gems" at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9 — and an "I can't believe it" look on his face with the caption, "This was the moment I saw The Weeknd's New Mustache."
