Separation
The writing was on the wall. After months of speculation about the fate of their marriage, on Dec. 17, multiple outlets reported that "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice had separated after 20 years of marriage. "They discussed their future when Teresa and the girls went to Italy in early November and they agreed that each had to move on. They are doing so amicably and very slowly," a source told People magazine. "Joe has been out on a few dates, Teresa has not. She has been too busy with [their four] girls, with work obligations and taking care of her father [who has pneumonia]. She is happy for Joe . They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other's happiness. They still love one another, but as Teresa told Andy Cohen on [an October "Watch What happens Live"] special, they are separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Neither is interested in a long distance relationship." The split comes while the couple awaits a judge's decision on Joe's deportation appeal. He's currently living in Italy. Amid the split news, Joe posted a photo of himself and Teresa on Instagram with the message, "It's Time To Let Go." Some good news for Joe: He'll spend Christmas with his and Teresa's daughters in Italy (Teresa will stay in New Jersey).

New gig
The "Peloton wife," otherwise known as actress Monica Ruiz, just scored a new gig. Monica will have an upcoming role on "The Bold and the Beautiful," the show announced in mid-December, adding that she'll be in two episodes. If things go well, she could be brought back. Days earlier, the actress's appearance in a Peloton commercial — in which she was gifted a fancy exercise bike from her on-screen husband for Christmas — went viral and sparked controversy: Many on social media felt the commercial was sexist, harmful and offensive as it made it seem Monica's character's on-screen husband was hinting that she needed to lose weight. Others said she looked miserable while riding the the bike in the ad. While speaking to "Today" about the commercial, Monica said she feared the backlash could negatively affect her career. "I hope that people can just see me as an actress," she said. "That's what I am. I hope people can remember that I'm not actually the Peloton lady and let me work other jobs."
Breakup
Channing Tatum is a free agent in the dating world. On Dec. 19, multiple outlets reported that the actor and British pop star Jessie J had split after more than a year of dating. "There wasn't any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends," a source told People magazine. Us Weekly, which broke the news, reported that the two split in mid-November. Channing and Jessie were first linked in October 2018. "Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don't really align," another source told People. "They had a fun relationship, but it just didn't work out. Channing needs to be in L.A. a lot so he can spend time with [his daughter] Everly. Jessie prefers England. They are still friendly though."

Exit address
Dan Spilo has addressed his impromptu exit from "Survivor: Island of the Idols," apologizing for making other contestants feel uncomfortable. Dan was kicked off the show after he allegedly touched a producer's thigh. The incident occurred after a contestant, Kellee Kim, accused him of inappropriately touching her. "I am deeply sorry for how my actions affected Kellee during the taping of this season of 'Survivor,'" he said in a statement to People magazine. "After apologizing at the tribal council when I first learned that Kellee still felt uncomfortable, I want to make sure I do so again, clearly and unambiguously." He added, "I truly regret that anyone was made to feel uncomfortable by my behavior. In my life, I have always tried to treat others with decency, integrity and kindness. I can only hope that my actions in the future can help me to make amends and show me to be the kind of father, husband, colleague and friend that I always aim to be." Because of the incident, CBS is pre-taping its reunion (a decision that's not popular with at least one "Survivor" alum).
Heated exchange
Never fear, everything is fine on "The View." On Dec. 16, Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain had a tense exchange when the latter was speaking about the impeachment process. While Meghan talked, Whoopi said, "Girl, please stop talking." Things stayed tense as they went to commercial. The following day, the woman addressed the dustup. "Things get heated on this show. If you watch the show you know this has happened over the years. We're really passionate, this is our job. We come in, we talk to each other, sometimes we're not as polite as we could be. That's just the way it is," Whoopi said. "This is our gig. And sometimes it goes off the rails and it does." Meghan said, "Whoopi and I get along great. I love you very much. I've loved you for a long time. You were good friends with my dad. We fight like we're family. It's all good. We're not tearing the set apart. Calm down, all of you. OK? It's all good."
Military man
Hugh Hefner's son Cooper has joined the military. The 28-year-old announced that he's "stepping back" from his yet-to-be-launched media company to enlist in the Air Force. Cooper's wife, actress Scarlett Byrne, indicted that the Playboy heir left on Dec. 17 to begin basic training. The enlistment comes less than two months after he and the 'Harry Potter" franchise alum tied the knot. "I'm incredibly proud," she said of Cooper's decision.
Yacht fire
Marc Anthony's 120-foot yacht was covered in flames and later capsized in Miami on Dec. 18. The singer was not aboard the vessel at the time of the fire, but several crew members were. They all got off safely. Photos show the boat, which was docked at the time, on its side and almost fully submerged. The cause of the fire, which left the yacht a total loss, isn't yet known.
Married and pregnant
Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith are secretly married and expecting a little one, Us Weekly reported on Dec. 20. It will be the first child for the newly married couple. When exactly Joshua and Jodie got married isn't known, but the couple was photographed in early August with what appeared to be a marriage license. Last month, media speculated that the two were secretly engaged when she was seen sporting a diamond ring at a red carpet event (it was the first time they officially posed together as a couple on the red carpet). Josh, a source told Us, is "so supportive of Jodie and loves to cheer her on."
Apology
Camila Cabello has apologized for using hurtful language and perpetuating offensive racial stereotypes in the past. Early in the week, some of Camila's old Tumblr posts from when she was 15 resurfaced revealing she'd used the N-word and shared racist images. On Dec. 18, the singer wrote a lengthy message on her Instagram Story to own up to her past mistakes. "When I was younger, I used language that I'm deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it," she wrote, adding that she'd also apologized in the past. "I'm 22 now, I'm an adult and I've grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn't before. Those mistakes don't represent the person I am or a person I've ever been. I only stand and have ever stood for love and inclusivity, and my heart has never, even then, had an ounce of hate or divisiveness."
Upset!
Chrissy Teigen publicly ranted about her husband on Twitter on Dec. 17 after claiming he didn't give her the proper heads up that they were hosting his "The Voice" colleagues at their house for a finale celebration dinner. "Who does this?" she wrote in a series of expletive-filled posts. "It sounds dumb yes but this is VERY john. I am always in charge of doing the fun, extra s— and he has no idea how much I plan normally and he's like 'no it's fine they just wanna have dinner' but it's literally the finale of their show??? And I have no ice cream truck." She told her followers, "if u think this is stupid go ahead and tell me what you made when Blake [Shelton,] Kelly [Clarkson] and Gwen [Stefani] came over to your house." Chrissy also shared a screen grab of a WhatsApp exchange with John in which she asked him, "Why wouldn't you plan something? I cannot plan every fun thing in your life for you," to which he replied, "They want to come over and have dinner with us. They don't expect us to entertain them with something elaborate." Chrissy wasn't having it and shot back, "No one is going to want to come sit and have dinner. We don't have a cake or anything. That's why you aren't good at anything."
