Tina Fey praises Carrie Fisher's 'honest writing, razor-sharp wit'
Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia turned up alongside Liz Lemon in "30 Rock" regularly, with Carrie playing Liz's childhood idol in one episode and Liz rocking a Princess Leia costume on multiple occasions ("I don't really think it's fair for me to be on a jury because I'm a hologram," a Leia-ed-out Liz once told a judge in an attempt to dodge jury duty). After the real Princess Leia's death this week, Tina Fey released a statement to Time about the loss so many were feeling. "Carrie Fisher meant a lot to me. Like many women my age, Princess Leia occupies about sixty percent of my brain at any given time," Tina said, according to E! News. "But Carrie's honest writing and her razor-sharp wit were an even greater gift. I feel so lucky that I got to meet her. I'm very sad she is gone."

Nicki Minaj to cover for Jennifer Lopez in Miami on NYE
Jennifer Lopez's decision to bail on her New Year's Eve performance at club E11even in Miami may have worked out in everyone's best interests after all. While J.Lo is expected either to relax at home in Los Angeles or take a trip to Las Vegas to see her rumored boyfriend Drake, Nicki Minaj will cover the show in Miami — which it seems was the promoter's goal from day one. "They reached out to Nicki first," an insider tells the New York Post. "But she was on vacation in Turks and Caicos to celebrate her birthday [in early December] and didn't respond to the offer in time, so they reached out to Jennifer." Nicki had been celebrating her birthday in the crazy luxe AirBnB rental Kylie Jenner used for her own birthday retreat in Turks and Caicos.

Hilaria Baldwin reveals eating disorder struggles in new book
If Hilaria Baldwin goes a little nuts with the yoga pic posts on Instagram, it may be because the practice helped save her life. In her new book, "The Living Clearly Method," the 32-year-old yoga teacher reveals she suffered from both anorexia and bulimia when she was younger and training to become a professional Latin ballroom dancer."Without realizing it, I started drifting away from the playful connection to movement I'd enjoyed as a young child and into a different and darker kind of dynamic: pushing my body to its limits and commanding it to perform through pain or fatigue," she writes (via People). "A long simmering struggle with anorexia and bulimia began to hold me firmly in its grip. By the time I was 20 years old, my 5-foot-3 frame was at least 20 lbs. under a healthy weight. My nails were brittle, my hair was falling out, my period was MIA, and my energy had tanked. I was miserable and desperate to feel better." She eventually found that yoga helped her relieve some of that pain but things continued to go downhill with Hilaria's eating disorders. "Even while I was helping so many others, I still didn't listen to my body. Extraordinarily long days became my reality; skipping meals was par for the course," she writes. Finally, a fall damaged her leg and hip so drastically that she was forced to slow down. "My year of recovery turned out to be a year of waking up, in which I healed my two-decade-long eating struggle and began to treat myself right," she writes. "I started to find pleasure in engaging fully with the whole process of eating, instead of checking out or avoiding it. The imbalances that had been there for much of my life returned to balance, and I looked and felt a hundred times better as a result."
Kate Beckinsale: 'I find balance' in torturous workouts
Yes, Kate Beckinsale's body is amazing. No, her ridiculous physique didn't come without a lot of hard work. The "Underworld: Blood Wars" star covers the new edition of Self, where she opens up about the training regimen she endures with Gunnar Peterson. "I work out hard with Gunnar five or six times a week," Kate says (via E! News). "I do circuit training interspersed with brutal cardio, such as crazy things on a nonmotorized treadmill. That part is torture. But the thing I like about circuit training is that you're never doing one thing for very long. You get to the point where you almost can't bear it, and it changes to something else. I start out absolutely dreading it, do an incredibly punishing workout, bitch about it the whole time, and end up feeling 100 percent better when I leave. Working out is basically nature's antidepressant. Hard-core workouts have really made a big difference in my life. I have a lot of internal energy, and intense exercise helps me channel that energy. I find balance by doing a workout that makes me pour sweat. I never was that girl before, but I am now." Having given up vegetarianism for more energy when she was filming "Pearl Harbor," the 43-year-old says she and her daughter stick to a healthy diet as well. "[My 17-year-old daughter] Lily and I eat clean—we have a lot of sautéed vegetables like brussels sprouts and broccoli and chicken and fish," she says. "Also, I don't drink alcohol. I feel [its effects] very quickly, so I've never actually had an entire glass of anything alcoholic."

After a week of treatment for Lupus in a Los Angeles hospital, Nick Cannon is feeling strong — and ready to get out. He shared an update from his hospital room on Wednesday, Dec. 28, thanking fans for their support and promising to do big things once he's released. "I'm still in the hospital, but I'm about to get out of here for real, and I'm letting you know we about to take it to a whole new level," he says in the video (via Us Weekly). "I've just been sitting here reflecting and I can't sit here dormant no more. I'm gonna take it to a whole new level, different stratosphere, different mesosphere. I'm sitting here just getting stronger. Just like an Iron Man strong, Incredible Hulk-type strong. And Buddha said it best: 'Every morning that you wake up, you are born again, and it matters what you do today the most.' … I want you to go on this journey with me 'cause I appreciate all the love. I didn't know y'all loved me like that. … We all are stronger 'cause we made it through 2016 and we're gonna keep going."
