Over the last year, Simon Cowell has completely transformed his body and his lifestyle.
During a recent chat with "Extra," the "America's Got Talent" judge opened up about maintaining a healthy lifestyle while quarantining and detailed how much weight he's lost.
"I think I have dropped, since I started this diet a year ago, 60 pounds," he said.
Simon, 60, said in April 2019 that he switched up his diet after his "embarrassing" late night fall in October 2017, which he acknowledged was due to low blood pressure. He later revealed that he had gone vegan and cut out wheat, sugar and melon from his diet. He also cut back on smoking.
He hasn't looked back since — not even during these difficult times.
"I'm doing a bit of cooking," he said of quarantining with his partner, Lauren Silverman, and their son, Eric. "I'm exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet. The only difficult thing is when Eric orders a pizza… That's the number one thing I miss."
Still, despite the occasional pizza temptation, quarantining is going rather well for Simon and his family.
"I was concerned how [Eric] was going to cope with all of this. He has been absolutely amazing," Simon said. "He is still able to do schoolwork, and now we are camping on the weekends in the garden."
Basically, Simon is staying busy — which he feels is important during the pandemic.
"Most importantly, occupy your mind," he said. "You have to stick to a routine. Fortunately, with things like with Zoom, you stay in touch with the world, keep motivated, come up with ideas… I never get this time, normally."
