Former "Teen Mom" star Jenelle Evans is firing back at a claim that her makeup kits contain mold.
Over the past month, the controversial reality TV star has been feuding with a makeup reviewer on Instagram. The online back-and-forth began after the woman, Rachel Pellegriti, was unimpressed with the product, claiming the eyebrow colors had mold and dirt in the pallet. Another friend, Rachel alleged, received a similar inferior product from JE Cosmetics.
After a volatile conversation, much of which was posted to Instagram, Rachel alleged that she sent the makeup kit to a professional lab to be tested. On July 27, Rachel posted a report alleging that mold and fungus were detected.
Even after the alleged lab results were posted, Jenelle stood by the product and implied that Rachel was simply an attention seeker.
"Our makeup is completely clean and the FDA can come stop by if they need to," Jenelle, 28, commented. "I have made out 200+ orders, and you mean to tell me you two are the only ones with 'mold'? I find that hard to believe. Seems like it was purposely contaminated to [sic] for attention."
Jenelle also took umbrage with the lab results, refusing to believe her products were sent to a professional lab.
"You really expect for me to believe a home kit? Right," she said.
JE Cosmetics hasn't commented on the purported lab results but did issue a statement on July 13 after the first allegations were made.
"Despite all the rumors some have been spreading about our kits, our makeup is clean and sanitized," the company said on Instagram. "Before shipping every product is inspected. All of our previous customers are happy and satisfied with their product!"
