BTS singer Jungkook has set a record for being the most viewed celebrity on TikTok, an amazing feat considering he doesn't actually have an account.
On Aug. 27, Metro reported Jungkook had been viewed 15.6 billion times on the social media platform. The 22-year-old doesn't have a TikTok account, so fans created a hashtag dedicated to him. Most of the content consists of videos shared by BTS fans.
Although Jungkook doesn't have a personal page, BTS has a TikTok account with 18 million followers, and fans have liked their videos 139.7 million times, Metro says.
Breaking records is nothing new for BTS, particularly in regards to "Dynamite," the group's newest single, which recently set a YouTube record.
"BTS 'Dynamite' Official MV set a new all-time 24hr record, surpassing 100M views with 101.1m views in the first 24 hours," a YouTube spokesman told Forbes last weekend. "Dynamite's new record means it is the first, and currently the only, YouTube video in history to receive more than 100 million views within its first 24 hours."
"Dynamite," the group's first English-only single, also set a YouTube record for "biggest music video premiere." The song also set records on Spotify and iTunes.
"'Dynamite' sends a message of happiness and confidence. It says, even though we're going through tough times, let's do what we can in our places, let's find freedom and happiness through dance and music," BTS member SUGA said. "I would say it's a song dedicated to all the people who felt like they have fallen down whilst running a marathon."
The group is currently working on a new album.
