A woman who has allegedly been harassing Josh Groban for nearly a decade must now keep her distance and cut off all communication with him for five years.
Last June, the singer got a temporary restraining order against the woman, claiming she's sent him incredibly graphic sexual messages and has tried contacting his girlfriend and family members. The woman, Josh added, has been removed from several of his performances, and she's turned up at various places he's staying.
Josh has never officially met the woman in person, although she has sent him letters that claim they'll have children together in the future.
TMZ reports that a judge now says the restraining order will last until Aug. 27, 2025, and the woman must cease all attempts to communicate with Josh, his family and his girlfriend.
According to previous reports, the woman began harassing Josh in 2011 after he broke off a date with her. TMZ reported Josh was set to take out the woman after they met through a mutual Facebook friend. However, he called off the date — which would have been their first in-person meeting — because he was sick.
After that, Josh claims the woman began pestering him about meeting up, so he decided against it. For nine years, she has continued to harass him via texts, emails and direct messages, Josh says.
In early 2020, Josh sent the woman a cease and desist letter after he bought a new home in Los Angeles. The woman, he alleged, told him she knew where he lived. Per TMZ's report in June, Josh claimed "she even sent a package to his home in early May that consisted of a small skull, a flower, and a book with handwritten notes in it that were sexual in nature and made it clear she would never stop."
