Kids' Choice Awards nominees who are doing great things

There are major perks that come with being famous. Meeting fans and getting to touch their lives is one of them. This year, some of the sweetest stars, from Dwayne Johnson to Zendaya, are nominated for 2018 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (tune in on March 25 to see who wins). Join Wonderwall.com as we check out some of the celebs up for KCAs who've done amazing things for their fans, starting with "Wonder Woman" star and favorite movie actress nominee Gal Gadot. The former Israeli soldier comforted a fan at Comic-Con in 2017 during an autograph signing she did with her "Justice League" co-stars. When a young lady burst into tears while meeting Gal, the actress held her hand and said, "There's no reason to cry, all right? Here we are, together." Later, the little girl's mother tweeted that Gal was "so sweet," adding, "Memories of a lifetime!" Keep reading for more endearing moments…

When the blockbuster "Black Panther" hit theaters, Zendaya, who's nominated for favorite TV and movie actress, took 300 kids from her hometown of Oakland, California, to see the movie. She posted this Instagram pic of herself with the group inside the theater on Feb. 25 and captioned it, "Wakanda forever…Oakland forever. Thank you to all the beautiful young people of my home town for joining me this weekend. You all, much like this movie, are absolutely brilliant✨ #BlackPanther."

Kendrick Lamar met with a longtime fan in late 2017 when his "DAMN." tour stopped in Dallas and gave her a new van. Jennifer Phillips is disabled and the van was modified to help with her disability. The favorite male artist Kids' Choice Awards nominee also gave Jennifer an autographed jacket on which he wrote, "Thank you for always supporting me. Your a inspiration for me. You are strong and positive. Your kind and beautiful. For all the years of inspiring me, the least I can do is make sure [you're] comfortable driving the city. A gift from me to you. Your always appreciated! –K. Lamar."

In 2017, rockers Imagine Dragons — who are nominated for favorite song and favorite music group at the Kids' Choice Awards — surprised superfan Sara Koontz in their hometown of Las Vegas by stopping by Elaine Wynn Elementary School, where she teaches. Band members Ben McKee, Daniel Platzman, Dan Reynolds and Wayne Sermon put on an acoustic performance for Sara and her class and talked to the students about the dangers of bullying.

Kevin Hart graciously gave a homeless woman $400 in cash in 2017 and the whole encounter was caught on camera. Kevin can be seen telling the woman, "I'm going to help you out, okay? I want you to do something good with the money, all right?" When the woman sees the cash she gasps, "Oh my God!" Kevin explained that the woman "honestly touched my heart."

While filming the "Baywatch" reboot at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, in 2016, favorite movie actor nominee Dwayne Johnson stopped in to meet some of the young patients in the Pediatric Specialty Ward. "To all the kids I met — you guys keep smiling and staying strong," he wrote on Instagram, adding, "All the mamas and daddy's I met, y'all stay strong too." The Rock has made a habit of visiting children's hospitals. Back in 2014, he stopped by the Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C.

Favorite movie actor nominee Chris Pratt visited the cancer wing at the Seattle Children's Hospital in late 2016 and hung out with Rowan, a patient who had dressed up as a character from Chris' blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise for Halloween. He also stopped by the hospital's NICU. (His son with Anna Faris, Jack, spent time in a neonatal intensive care unit when he was born nine weeks early in 2012.) "Ever since Jack's premature birth, we have a special affinity for the NICU," Chris captioned one of three posts he shared on Instagram about his visit.

There's no age limit when it comes to Taylor Swift's fans. In late 2016, Cyrus Porter, one of the singer's senior citizen superfans, got a surprise visit from the pop star. Taylor — who's nominated for favorite female artist and whose hit "Look What You Made Me Do" is up for for favorite song — popped in on the World War II veteran (who was 96 at the time!) and his family in Missouri and played a few songs for them on her guitar. One of Cyrus' grandkids, Robert Frye, tweeted a photo of himself, Taylor and Cyrus and captioned it, "It's a Christmas Miracle!!! Thank you @taylorswift13. My grandpa was so excited!!"

After favorite movie actor nominee Chris Hemsworth left his wallet at a restaurant back in 2016, teenage fan Tristin Budzyn-Barker found it and returned it to the Australian star's manager. When "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" called to interview the teen about his good deed, Tristin was elated. And when Chris showed up to thank him in person on Ellen's stage, he could hardly believe it. Chris gave honest Tristin the cash in his wallet and wrote him a letter congratulating him for his "superior moral character" and for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout for his work building shelters for horses. After all that, Ellen and Shutterfly gave the teen $10,000 to help pay for college.

Ed Sheeran, who's nominated for favorite male artist and whose track "Shape Of You" is up for favorite song, made hospital-bound superfan Melody Driscoll's day in 2016 when he surprised her with a bedside serenade of his song "Photograph" in southeast England. At birth, Melody — who was 9 at the time of Ed's visit — was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Rett Syndrome, which left her unable to walk or talk and forced her to spend about 80 percent of her life in the hospital.

Favorite music group nominee Maroon 5 surprised one of their biggest fans when they hung out with him backstage at their Washington D.C. concert in 2015. The musicians showed they had big hearts when then-10-year-old Christopher, who has Down syndrome, got so excited to meet them that he had a panic attack and had to lay on the ground — and the entire band laid down with him. Awwww!

Favorite female artist nominee Demi Lovato and pal Nick Jonas surprised a then-5-year-old fan, Aiden, at Children's Hospital Los Angeles on his bone-marrow birthday, which celebrates the day he received his bone-marrow transplant, in 2016. The pop stars came with a homemade sign in hand and sang "Happy Birthday" to him. They took time to visit other kids as well and performed acoustic renditions of Demi's "Confident" and Nick's "Jealous."

In 2014, Bruno Mars — who's nominated for favorite male artist and whose hit "That's What I Like" is up for favorite song — serenaded brain-injury survivor Zumyah Thorpe, then 11, after she lost her mother and younger sister when a drunk driver plowed into them. As a result of the accident, Zumyah endured brain swelling so severe that she needed part of her skull removed. Though her motor and language skills were also impaired, she was able to sing Bruno's songs. Upon hearing Zumyah's story, Bruno organized a visit and performed four tracks for her and dedicated his Cleveland, Ohio, show to her. He captioned a selfie of them on Instagram, "Tonight's show was dedicated to this amazing young women. I love you Zumyah."
