Katy Perry slammed for Britney Spears head-shaving comments

In which shade begets shade. In two interviews at the Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 12, Katy Perry joked about Britney Spears' meltdown a decade ago and quickly became the brunt of the hashtag "#KatyPerryIsOverParty." Posted repeatedly by Britney fans who were angry at Katy for being callous about Britney's mental health, the hashtag started trending on Twitter. Speaking to E!'s Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, Katy had responded to questions about her break from recording by saying the decision to take time off was about "taking care of" her "mental health," according to Us Weekly. Asked, "How'd that go?" Katy said, "Fantastic! And I haven't shaved my head yet." She later repeated the reference while giving an interview to CBS. "OK FINE I turned on the Grammys and Katy Perry was making a snide 'Britney breakdown head-shaving' reference & I'm not down with that," one Twitter user complained (via Us). "Katy shaded Britney TWICE!? Okay, girl. Bye," another added. Wrote a third: "Katy trying to go 1 minute without shading other artists #KatyPerryIsOverParty."

Angelina Jolie is reportedly hiring her first publicist in years

Is Angelina Jolie's divorce forcing her to rethink her image? The New York Post reports the actress and Special Envoy for the UN on refugee issues is making moves to hire a publicist for the first time in years. "I had [a publicist] once, years ago … I didn't like it," she told the Hollywood Reporter in 2014. Instead of a PR team, Angelina's been relying on crisis specialist Judy Smith, her former manager Geyer Kosinski as well as advisers from the the European politics world. Calls her team have been making to publicists are likely related to her forthcoming Netflix film about Cambodia, "First They Killed My Father," although the Post points out the overhaul could also have to do with public perception of her split and custody battle.

Justin Bieber trolls The Weeknd instead of going to the Grammys

Despite being up for four Grammy awards, Justin Bieber skipped the ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 12, indulging instead in some sushi — and some Weeknd sarcasm. While his ex, Selena Gomez, was out enjoying Grammy festivities with her new boyfriend The Weeknd on Sunday, Justin was busy sharing videos on Instagram. In one, he shows off what looks like a tuna sushi dish. In a second video, he takes questions from fans. Asked to share his "favorite song of the moment," Justin pauses then offers, "'Starboy' by The Weeknd" as laughter breaks out among his friends, indicating they know he has said he's not a fan, according to Complex.com. As for the "Starboy" singer, it's unclear whether he's noticed Justin's trolling. Last week, however, he posted a cryptic tweet that suggested he's aware the Bieber's toying with him. "Playing with me is a dangerous game," he wrote. A day later he added, "As long as we both know."

Prince items head to the auction block

Prince fans have a chance to snag a bit of purple nostalgia this week, thanks to the RR Auction company. On Thursday, Feb. 16, bidding wraps on items ranging from clothing and costume pieces worn by the late singer onstage to handwritten notes. Featuring more than 100 items, the lots in the auction include the jacket Prince wore in the film "Under the Cherry Moon," the tambourine he played during the Parade tour, his glitter cane and more. Prince died in April at age 57 at his home and recording studio in Minneapolis.

Museum planned for Debbie Reynolds' dance studio

The dance studio Debbie Reynolds opened in 1979 in North Hollywood will soon have two rooms dedicated to housing her awards, costumes and other memorabilia, according to TMZ. The late actress' son, Todd Fisher, is reportedly helming efforts to renovate the six-room studio so that it can accommodate a museum. Among the pieces expected to be displayed are Debbie's SAG Life Achievement Award, her Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and her costumes from "Molly Brown" and "Singin' in the Rain." The items included in the display may eventually be moved to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Nick Cannon says he's leaving 'America's Got Talent' over stand-up jokes

After making a handful of race-tinged jokes at NBC's expense on his Showtime comedy special "Stand Up, Don't Shoot," Nick Cannon says the network threatened to fire him from "America's Got Talent." According to a post on his Facebook page, that's whjy he's decided to leave the show. "I write this from a deeply saddened and dolorous mindset. After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke," he wrote. "This has weighed heavy on my spirit. It was brought to my attention by my "team" that NBC believed that I was in breach of contract because I had disparaged their brand. In my defense, I would ask how so? Or is this just another way to silence and control an outspoken voice who often battles the establishment." The long post ended with a note about minority representation in TV. "There are 6 major corporations that control 90 percent of media in America and the amount of minority executives is dismal," Nick said. "With this being the case, true equality in our industry is impossible. There will always be a 'do as I say' mentality that mirrors society's perception of women and minorities, and only a few will stand up against it. I proudly stand as one of those few, and will gladly take on whatever repercussions that come with it."

Scott Baio teased for Nordstrom boycott

The Hollywood Twitterverse is having some some fun with Scott Baio's decision to boycott Nordstrom in support of Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka, whose products were recently pulled from Nordstrom's shelves. "Dear @Nordstrom NEVER AGAIN! @IvankaTrump @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @EricTrump @MrsScottBaio," Scott shared on social media over the weekend, posting a photo of a billing statement that showed his wife had spent about $30,000 at the store. ""OMG Nordstrom is FINISHED!" Andy Cohen joked (via GossipCop). Taran Killiam took the situation a step further, tweeting, "Why didn't Scott Baio want to shop @Nordstrom's? Because they wouldn't let him Charles in CHARGE it," while Trevor Noah quipped, "That sucks for Nordstrom now they have to find another cashier."
