Is Britney Spears vying for a Super Bowl performance?

Between her successful Las Vegas residency and the a capella "Happy Birthday" song she sang in Singapore — proving to critics she can sing, even if she occasionally uses playback vocals — Britney Spears could be the right choice for 2018's Super Bowl Half Time show. That's what insiders tell the Daily News, anyway. "Britney has made it clear to her team that it is a dream to perform at a Super Bowl," said a source. "She has the hits package and appeal to be a headliner." In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Brit-Brit was asked if she'd be up for returning to the Super Bowl to perform, as she last did in 2001. "Yes, I would probably do that," she said at the time. The News' source says Britney could potentially perform in 2018 with a combination of other stars.

Janet Jackson returns to New York City with infant son

Since welcoming her son Eissa, Janet Jackson has remained in London. But on Monday, July 10, the newly single singer was spotted in New York City, marking her first known return to the U.S. in months. "Janet flew to N.Y.C. with the baby and small entourage, including a bodyguard," a source told People. "She is very hands-on and carried the baby the whole way through the airport. Eissa is adorable and Janet looked great. Happy and in great shape. She's in N.Y.C. for business meetings concerning her upcoming tour." Janet, whose tour launches Sept. 7 in Louisiana, confirmed she'd split from her husband Wissam Al Mana, shortly after Eissa's birth. "She and Wissam are working together to co-parent," a source told People. "They have a strong friendship. There is no fighting between them."

Blac Chyna worried what Rob Kardashian might do next after Instagram incident

Blac Chyna likely feels safer now that she's been granted a temporary restraining order against Rob Kardashian. But as she explained in an extended interview with ABC's "Nightline" on Monday, July 10, the explicit photos he posted of her scared her because they suggested just how far he might take his anger. "I was devastated. I'm looking at this and I'm like, 'How could someone do this to me?'" she said (via E! News). "I was very fearful because I was like, 'If you could do this, what else could you do?'" The fact that she once worked as a stripper should be irrelevant, she added: "Just because of something that I used to do, I shouldn't be bullied to say, 'OK, well, you used to do this, so you deserve that.'" Chyna also alleged the abuse in their relationship had been physical, telling interviewer Linsey Davis, "Rob has hit me before. Yes. This was in April." In court documents excerpted by E!, Chyna says Rob "punched" her and "threatened to kill himself multiple times in text messages since we broke up in December 2016, trying to manipulate me to respond to his outbursts." She said he'd shown her the gun he keeps at his house, so she took his "threats seriously." Chyna also claims she's urged Rob to see get professional help for his mental state since 2016. "I am in fear of this angry, volatile, vindictive man, who has physically attacked me and tried to humiliate me so publicly. I am embarrassed by his posts. I ask for orders of protection so that I can live my life in peace and free of fear of him," she said in the papers. Chyna, who also appeared with her lawyer on "Good Morning America" Monday, assured viewers she still hoped to co-parent the daughter she shares with Rob. "I would never try to take Dream from her dad," she said.

Mika Brzezinski lands three-book deal with Weinstein Books

Donald Trump may find "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski "crazy" and unintelligent but the publishers behind Harvey Weinstein's book imprint appear to disagree. Mika recently inked a three-book deal with Weinstein Books that sources tell the New York Post will earn her a fee "in the high six figures." The books are expected to include a revised edition of her 2011 tome, "Knowing Your Value," featuring what the Post describes as "fresh interviews with female trailblazers about getting recognition in the business space," due out in the spring of 2018. Insiders reportedly "hope" Mika will find a way to incorporate the president's comments about her, which became a lightning rod for new discussions about how he sees — and bullies — women in particular. "This was being discussed before the Trump remarks were made," a source told the Post, "and that incident did not have any effect on the deal itself or the subject matter for the books."

Chris Martin invites wheelchair-bound fan to perform with him in Dublin

Chris Martin made Coldplay's Dublin concert on Saturday, July 8, one of the most memorable nights of one fan's life. A video that's since gone viral on Youtube shows Rob O'Byrne, who's been confined to a wheelchair since he was paralyzed 12 years ago, being lifted up in the air by some other fans to afford him a better view of the stage. Soon, Chris Martin noticed the wheelchair-bound fan above the crowd and becknoed him toward the stage. The crowd obliged and carried him all the way to the front, delivering him at Chris' side, where he handed him a harmonica. "It was a great view. You see the whole of the Croke Park, just the top of people's heads," Rob later told CBS News. Asked if he was nervous about the crowdsurfing, he said, "I was just more shocked than anything else, so I just went for it." Chris proceeded to sing. "I just blew the harm when he stopped singing, and then he just looked down and said 'yeah just keep doing that,'" Rob recalled. "It was an amazing event, like, to be at." Chris gave Rob the harmonica to keep as a gift.

The blockbuster crush that is Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" was made for $149 million, millions less than the $179 million budget of "Spider-Man: Homecoming." From Charlize Theron's perspective, the budget reflects the fact that "Wonder Woman" was female-centric. "I think we would be remiss not to acknowledge Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton," she tells Variety, acknowledging the stars of "Alien" and "The Terminator" in a feature about her work on the action flick "Atomic Blonde." "We've had moments like this, where women really showcase themselves and kind of break glass ceilings. And then we don't sustain it. Or there's one movie that doesn't do well, and all of a sudden, no one wants to make a female-driven film." Ultimately, she says, the budget for "Wonder Woman" is telling (especially given the $350 million-plus it's earned at the box office). "I am ashamed that I'm part of an industry that has never allowed a woman to work with a budget higher" [than that]," she says. "That's so f—— cavemanlike. I am always hoping that this is the movie that's going to change it."

Wrongful death suit brought against Jim Carrey by Cathriona White's mother, estranged husband, gets trial date

The now consolidated wrongful death suit brought against Jim Carrey by his late ex-girlfriend Cathriona White's mother and estranged husband has a trial date. E! News reports there appears to be no movement towards a settlement and that the trial is expected to begin on April 28, 2018, and last for about 20 days. In August, Jim will reportedly give a deposition in Los Angeles. He has roundly denied the validity of claims he made the drugs Cathriona used to overdose available to her, and says she in fact stole them. He also denies he procured those drugs illegally and maintains the claim he gave her three STDs then lied about it is untrue. His lawyers have said Cathriona once accused him of giving her STDs. The argument that ensued led to one of their breakups but they later reconciled. Jim's lawyer has called the suit — which was recently combined from two lawsuits into one — a "shameful shakedown for money." A lawyer for the prosecution tells E! News: "We look forward to Mr. Carrey being required to explain to a Los Angeles jury why he gave Ms. White three STD's, lied to her about it, demeaned her and then ultimately provided her with the drugs she used to take her own life." In suicide notes left by Cathriona for Jim, she refers to him as her only "family" and asks that he be in charge of arranging funeral services and other matters in her estate.

Keyshia Cole sued for $4M

Keyshia Cole's jealousy could cost her millions if a judge finds in favor of a woman who claims Keyshia beat her up in 2014 after finding her in Keyshia's then-boyfriend Birdman's penthouse in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, Sabrina Mercadel wants $4 million in a lawsuit against the singer for allegedly causing her pain, suffering, emotional distress and loss of the use of a body part. Each of those grievances comes with a massive damages price tag in the suit, as do Sabrina's demands for money towards future medical expenses, loss of earnings and future loss of earnings. Sabrina has said her relationship with Birdman was not romantic. She first filed suit in 2014.

Paris Hilton releases new rose-scented fragrane

The white dress Paris Hilton wore in February to the Hollywood Beauty Awards is being immortalized as a perfume bottle. Us Weekly reports Rose Rush, Paris' new fragrance, comes in a pink bottle made to look like the dress pictured here. The perfume itself contains notes of rose petal, neroli, lychee, peony, papaya, amber and cedarwood, a combination meant to evoke the smell of rose wine — as well as "the confidence and ambition within all women," according to Paris. Rose Rush is Paris' 23rd fragrance and retails for $60.

Tom Hanks celebrates his birthday with his daughter and a show

Happy 61st! Tom Hanks celebrated his latest trip around the sun over the weekend with his daughter, Elizabeth, by his side. According to the New York Post, the father-daughter pair headed to the Daryl Roth Theater off-Broadway in New York City on Saturday, July 8, to see magician Derek DelGaudio's acclaimed new solos show, "In & Of Itself." After the performance, Tom reportedly chatted with Derek backstage for half an hour, talking about World War II and George Balanchine, among other topics.
