Celine Dion's handbag collection launch in Montreal on Wednesday, Aug. 23, turned into a candid, music-heavy opportunity for the singer to share how she's doing, what she's focusing on in the wake of her husband Renee Angelil's death — and whether she's dating yet. "I'm enjoying myself," she said at one point. "I … went through a lot." Implying she didn't want to "give details" about the deaths of Renee and her brother within a span of days, she went on to say, "I think sometimes when you go through a lot … there is a force that takes over when you believe." She continued: "I have projects, I have visions, I have focus, I want to create and I think at this time of my life … it feels that I can spread my wings." By the end of her response, she was singing "The Best is Yet to Come." And as E! News reports, the best really was yet to come. When someone asked about her dating life later, Celine struck pose, arms in the air. She was quiet for a moment. And then she sang a vow to "shine bright like a diamond," from Rihanna's "Diamonds" … as one does at a handbag collection launch when one is Celine Dion.

I've fallen down. I've loved the wrong person. I've failed. I've been hurt. I've hurt. That's life!" he continues. "What I've tried to do and still try to do each time though is recognize those mistakes and mould them to my advantage. Make them a way to better myself." Instead of letting a bad experience define who you are, he tells his readers, "run with it." He continues: "Take the sum of your past and make it your tool to approach the future with. Move forward and love the experiences you have, use them to define you and make you the best version of yourself that is humanely possible. Your life is yours and will be whatever you want it to be. Love, grow, pursue, strive, challenge yourself. e afraid so that you can be brave." Near the end, he says the video of Lucy boxing in the post "is what positive forward motion, determination, bravery, strong will, dedication and self respect looks like." He adds: "This is my Lucy. She is one of the best stunt women in the world. She has defined herself. She continues to define herself. She grows, everyday. She is Lucy Cork because she says so." How much better than roses is that?

When more than 1,000 people it the streets outside the NFL offices in New York City on Wednesday, Aug. 23, Susan Sarandon was among them. "Rally in support of Colin Kaepernick in front of @NFL," the vocal activist captioned a photo from the crowd. "Together we win. I stand with Colin. #ImWithKap." The rally was organized by a group concerned that the former quarterback is being blackballed by the NFL in the wake of his refusal to stand during the National Anthem as a means of voicing his frustration with racial injustice in America. Among those who joined the "#ImWithKap" hashtag swarm that took over social media or the rally were Spike Lee, Ava DuVernay, rapper Kurtis Blow and Women's March organizer Tamika Mallory. "Happy Birthday @OurRevolution!" Susan tweeted after the rally. "Keep fighting."

Bobby Zarin hits four parties in two days as his recovery continues

A month ago, Jill Zarin and her friends were relegated to catching up with her husband Bobby Zarin in the hospital as he continued to fight cancer. Now that he's been released, he's finally able to get into the spirit of the season the right way. "What a turnaround!" Jill posted on Instagram this week. "Bobby and I came out to the hamptons and took him to 4 parties in 2 days! He is tired but that's it so far for side effects. Not as hungry but more for me ! Lol. Attended chris Burch's summer white party with houseguest. Hope he had fun!" On Aug. 6, Jill thanked a friend on social media for treating her husband "to his first real meal in 5 weeks." She added she was grateful to everyone who had come to visit him or sent gifts for Bobby while he was hospitalized. "My heart is filled with such emotion everyday it's hard to express," she wrote. "From the initial shock to the new 'normal' it's been the most emotional time in our lives and couldn't have gotten to where we are without help from many. I wake up everyday now so grateful to see Bobby getting stronger."

Just because Amy Schumer asked Netflix for more money doesn't mean she "demanded" equal pay to whatever Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle made on their Netflix specials. So said Amy in an Instagram post after Variety published a story in which a source said "she received significantly more compensation after she raised the question of fairness relative to the Rock and Chappelle deals." The way Amy tells it, she's not on the same level as Chris and Dave yet and merely asked for more money — not the same money — as what they earned. "Hot dog dog," she wrote. "Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay. However I don't believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time. I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done. That's a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time. I didn't ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my a– off and be the best performer I can be. Maria Menounos opens up about how her perspective has changed since brain surgery

Two months after she had surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumor, Maria Menounos, 39, is getting back to her regular life — but she's changing her approach. "What this has done is shift my focus into more of like a mind, body, spiritual kind of grounding that needs to happen," she tells Us Weekly in a recent interview. "Having a healthy lifestyle was always important for me,. I think this has convinced me to give myself more time, mentally, to breathe. It's not that I don't have female friends — I was just working. There was never, 'Hey, let's have drinks!' It was always work, work, work." Her relationship with fiance Keven Undergaro has is becoming even more of a priority, too. Although she plans to return to work and is already exercising again, Maria admits she wants to get married in the near future. "A few weeks after I was home from surgery, I was like, 'We need to get married! We need to have kids! I can't wait anymore.' But it's like, 'Alright, let's get better first,'" she said. Joking that the couple might never actually tie the knot because they've considered "monster wedding" plans like a "Star Trek"-themed wedding, a carnival-themed wedding and "something massive in our village in Greece where we invite the entire country," she says her fiance helped her see her own strength — something she hadn't really seen before. "Keven would always tell me how strong I was. I never really believed him, but I one zillion percent understand now," says. "I can take a good hit."

"After I was successful, a lot of people let me know, kind of how they used to think of me, and how they think of me now and I try not to get too offended," she says. "I kinda like proving 'em wrong."

Aaron Carter is being harassed with 'hate-filled' texts and calls

On the heels of his recent announcement that he's bisexual, Aaron Carter contacted police on Wednesday, Aug. 23, to inform them he is being harassed by what TMZ describes as "hate-filled" text messages and phone calls. When law enforcement authorities visited the singer's house in St. Petersburg, Florida, they discovered he may have been in more danger than he realized. According to TMZ, someone had attempted to break into the back door of his home. Police are reportedly still investigating.
