Liam Hemsworth's brother references Liam's split from Miley Cyrus
Liam Hemsworth's split from Miley Cyrus is apparently now far enough behind them that referencing the breakup is fair game for family members. Liam's brother, Chris Hemsworth recently joked to Australia's News.com.au, that his younger sibling is officially in better shape than he is. "I think he's done it," Chris, 36, said of his 30-year-old brother (via People). "Did you see the Men's Health cover? I thought, 'Not bad kid. Not bad.' He's out there training and staying fit, and back in Australia doing his thing." He then credited the fitness update with "Australian living," saying, "We got him out of Malibu!" After Liam and Miley split last August, Liam moved out of their Malibu home — the same house Miley sang about in her breakup tune, "Slide Away" — and headed back Down Under, where he and Chris grew up. Miley and Liam were together on and off for more than a decade. Their divorce was finalized in January and Liam is reportedly now dating 21-year-old Gabriella Brooks. A source recently told People the pair were "getting serious."

Cardi B interviews her old pal Bernie Sanders on IG Live
Last summer, Cardi B rekindled her high school-era love for AP Government and interviewed Bernie Sanders, who she went on to vocally support in his bid for the White House. With that bid now over, Cardi sat down with the Vermont Senator again this week for a chat about the election, the pandemic and other matters on Instagram Live. Bernie kicked things off, asking for the rapper's take on his manicure, or lack there off. "I want you to take a look at my nails, how are they looking?" he said, smiling as he aimed his hands at the camera (via Harper's Bazaar) Cardi, her own light blue acrylics peeking out of the frame, made a face. "They're looking very quarantine," she said. "I can tell you've been in quarantine for a while now, with those nails. But you know what? It's OK, Uncle Bernie." As the conversation got underway, Cardi tackled the election, which is now presumably Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden. "A lot of people like the youth, they don't really rock with Joe Biden because he's conservative," Cardi said. "I want you to tell my platform, why are you endorsing him?" Bernie explained that when he initially announced he was running, he told the public he'd absolutely get behind any Democrat looking to unseat Trump. "[I said], 'If I don't win, and I tried hard to win, I will endorse the Democrat who wins, because Donald Trump is—in my mind—the most dangerous president in the modern history of America,'" Bernie told Cardi. "This is a guy who lies all the time. He doesn't believe in science. He downplayed this whole coronavirus, which has led to the deaths of many thousands of people unnecessarily." By the end of the chat, Cardi assured Bernie he still has her support, then told viewers she's going Joe Biden in 2020.

Fun Fact (and who couldn't use some fun these days??!): The ongoing faux feud between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman started because of Hugh's friendship with Ryan's ex, Scarlett Johansson. Speaking to the Daily Beast, Hugh admitted the pair's online trolling has gone on for so many years that he barely remembers what sparked it. "God, this is a classic sign where your feud has gone too long, where you don't even know why or how it started!" he joked. It turns out, Hugh met Ryan when they were working on 2009's "Wolverine." "… I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett, and Scarlett had just married Ryan," Hugh explained. "So when he came on set I was like, 'Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I'm watching.' And we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the 'Deadpool' thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted." Ryan's latest troll-y shout-out came over the weekend in the comments below Hugh's wedding anniversary post for his wife, Deborah Lee-Furness, with Ryan helpfully suggesting, "Hang in there, Deb."

Michael Che to pay one month's rent for every apartment in his late grandmother's building
In the wake of his grandmother's death from COVID-19 earlier this month, "Saturday Night Live" star Michael Che has announced he'll pay one month's rent for each of the residents in her building, which is owned and operated by the New York City Housing Authority. "It's crazy to me that residents of public housing are still expected to pay their rent when so many new yorkers cant even work," the comic wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, April 15. "Obviously I cant offer much help by myself. but in the spirit and memory of my late grandmother, im paying one months rent for all 160 apartments in the NYCHA building she lived in." He went on to demand a "better plan for debt forgiveness" for those in public housing in the city ("at least," he added). As he signed off, he urged Mayor Bill de Blasio, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and, less obviously, Diddy, to contact him about creating that plan.
Prince Harry is grateful for 'family time' as the pandemic continues
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's new home in Los Angeles isn't preventing them from maintaining ties to the UK. Harry made that clear over Easter weekend when he joined a videoconference hosted by WellChild, a UK-based charity that works to give seriously ill children the chance to "thrive" at home with their families instead of in the hospital. Harry is a patron of the organization, according to ET, but when he spoke with some of the group's families and employees during the call, he approached the conversation as a new dad, first. "I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is for you guys," he told participating parents. "Having one kid at 11 months old is enough, so to see what you guys are going through on a day-to-day basis, honestly, so much respect to every single one of you." (Harry and Duchess Meghan's son Archie turns 1 in May.) The conversation later turned to challenges the parents face as a result of needing health care workers in their homes during social distancing and widespread anxiety about COVID-19. At one point, Harry admitted he worries about his response to being home with Meghan and Archie when so many are suffering around the world. "Being able to have family time, so much family time where you almost think, 'Oh, do I feel guilty for having so much family time?'" he told the group. "You've gotta celebrate those moments where you just are on the floor rolling around in hysterics because of something that's happened and then inevitably half an hour later, maybe a day later, there's going to be something you have to deal with and there's no way you can run away from it. You can't even distract yourself in a different room."

Oh, let's let Martha Stewart live a little, shall we? The lifestyle entrepreneur sat down for an Instagram Live session this week with Elle Decor to discuss her wine company. "I couldn't say [wine] is a necessity but boy does it help," she said of pouring a glass of vino after 5 during the current quarantine, according to Page Six. "At the end of the day, a relaxing little cocktail." Martha was then asked about a flub she made recently in someone's Instagram comments, where she posted a nonsenical bit of what appeared to be advice for someone about raising chickens. The original comment read as follows: "M as me sure you feed and wAter them daily And keep the heat lss as no MK in s as Nd when you can finally come back to nyc who is going to take care for them??" Martha later replied to herself, posting, "What a mess I have been drinking." So, how much does she drink, the Elle editor asked. "Despite what you'll read on Page Six and BuzzFeed, I'm not a big drinker," she said through laughter. "I rarely get tipsy but I can nurse a bot … I can nurse a glass of wine very nicely by adding ice cubes." Meh. Bottle, glass, chicken, hen. Does it matter when half the country's workforce is doing its job sans pants?!
Kanye West says he was an alcoholic before quitting cold-turkey
Kanye West unleashed another bombshell in the same GQ interview that featured him vowing to support Donald Trump in the 2020 election. He told the magazine that there was a time he had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol that led him to drink vodka in the morning. He also partially blamed awards shows for his substance abuse issues. "It's good that we found out about all of those awards shows that partially led me to alcoholism. Whistle been blown, you know?" he told the outlet, implying they're all bunk. "Imagine 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' and 'Watch the Throne' [being eligible] the same year and neither of them being nominated for Album of the Year. Imagine doing 'The Life of Pablo' and driving down the road and never hearing none of those songs on the radio and your wife and your daughter are in the car." The reporter then clarifies that "Dark Twisted Fantasy" was so highly praised, "nobody remembers whether you did or did not win a Grammy," although it seems to fall on deaf ears. Kanye said he overcame his alcohol issues by refusing to go to the dark side, as it were. "One day I was in my office working on the couture collection, and there was some Grey Goose in the fridge and I was just going to get a daytime drink, and I looked and thought, 'Devil, you're not going to beat me today,'" he recalled. "That one statement is like a tattoo. I haven't had a drink since I realized I needed to take it day by day. But I never owned up, or was even told, 'Hey, you're a functioning alcoholic.'" He added that instead, he was called, " a crazy person … everything, but not a functioning alcoholic." Meanwhile, he said he was "drinking orange juice and Grey Goose in the morning."

Turns out Will Forte and his girlfriend Olivia Modling are actually finances. The actor's dad, Reb Forte, confirmed his son's engagement when the two appeared together this month on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," saying Will is "currently engaged" and has said, "it's a possibility" that if he and Olivia have a son they might give him the "V" version of the family name Will and Reb share, which, formally, is Orville Willis Forte. People reports the couple got engaged over the holidays.
LeAnn Rimes opens up about her struggles with depression and anxiety
The pandemic is taking a toll on mental health in ways we can't necessarily see yet, sparking some celebs to speak out about their own mental health struggles as a means of reducing the stigma for others. LeAnn Rimes, who spent 30 days at an inpatient treatment center when she was 30, recently opened up to People about the depression and anxiety she was dealing with at the time. "At first I didn't want to face my pain, because I thought I would get lost in it. But I didn't. People are so ashamed to talk about it and ask for help. But taking away the shame is so important," said the 37-year-old singer, describing the "emptiness and sadness" that accompanied her success in music since childhood. "And I had to be LeAnn Rimes, the entity, not LeAnn Rimes, the person. I was very fragmented," she added. LeAnn's parents' bitter divorce and strained relationship with her father made matters worse, as did the publicity around her marriage-ending affair with Eddie Cibrian, much of which she says involved "fabricated" claims. "Obviously there are mistakes that I take great responsibility for. But my whole life I had cared what everyone thought of me. So the public shaming was a deep thing that I took on," she said. That combination of challenges left the singer sleepless and suffering panic attacks and endless negative thoughts. Finally, she saw she had an "accumulation" of "underlying grief," as well as codependency issues to sort out, and she sought help. Since then, she says she's relied on prescription medication and "a routine of self-care." "I know who I am now," says LeAnn. "And I try to keep things in perspective. The need for other's approval has changed big-time. Self-worth is key."
Lake Bell reveals her 5-year-old daughter has epilepsy
Lake Bell turned to Instagram on Wednesday, April 15, to share something she's been keeping quiet. "My daughter has epilepsy," she wrote alongside an up-close photo of 5-year-old Nova, who she shares with her husband Scott Campbell. "It's taken me a few months to gather the courage to post about it because I do not want to endorse its existence," she continued. She went on to write that she changed her mind after being confronted with the experience of isolation. "I crave community," she wrote. "We all do. We want to be reminded we are not alone in any reality." The "Bless This Mess" star said she's "Grateful to have a partner in @scottcampbell who, with his research and smarts, is giving these seizures a worthy adversary," and asserted that the couple, "along with the care of the incomparable @childrensla, will conquer" Nova's seizures. "For Nova… so she doesn't have to cry in fear after she gets sucked into one," the actress wrote, comparing the seizures to "invaders, that come on without invitation nor warning." Finally, Lake wrote: "We will fight for Nova. For her future. For tomorrow. For today. It's a beginning of a long journey and I want/need to remember that I am not alone. And if you are dealing with a loved one with epilepsy, I get it… You are not alone." She and Scott are also parents to a son, Ozgood, who turns 3 next month.
