Alison Roman's food column is 'on leave' and Chrissy Teigen is not happy

When Chrissy Teigen tweeted that it was "a huge bummer" to learn Alison Roman, a food writer Chrissy admires, had questioned whether the"Cravings" author deserved her success, she was venting — not trying to get Alison's popular New York Times column taken down. But as of this week, the column is "on temporary leave," according to Us Weekly. And Chrissy is not happy about it, as she's told multiple Twitter users. "I hope we can laugh about it one day, but I'm not happy with the NYT leave. So she def can't laugh about it yet. It just sucks in every way," she wrote at one point on Wednesday, May 20. Responding to another user who commented on the hiatus, Chrissy wrote: "I don't like this one bit and I'm doing what I can (off Twitter) to make that known." She also reminded the public that after Alison offered two public apologies, Chrissy "very publicly forgave" her. In fact, the two foodies, both 34, seemed to find the basis of a possible future friendship in their exchange. Still, Chrissy tweeted that she is "getting very much blamed for [Alison's] leave" because of what was first reported as an outright feud. That wasn't without basis, of course. Alison criticized Chrissy in a New Consumer interview published May 7, balking at the model's success after just one cookbook, which included a line at Target and "an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it's just, like, people running a content farm for her." Alison continued: "That horrifies me and it's not something that I ever want to do. I don't aspire to that. But like, who's laughing now? Because she's making a ton of f—— money." She levied similar complaints at Marie Kondo. Chrissy was clearly hurt by the comments and disappeared briefly from Twitter. She returned after Alison's apologies, which included the concession that her comments had been "stupid, careless and insensitive" and sparked by insecurity.

Announcing the award, Demi said of her friend's show: "As we've made our way through this unprecedented time, any way to connect and communicate with people to laugh, share stories, sing with friends, any chance for us to come get together joyfully has become vitally important. And my friend Miley has provided an outlet for millions of people to do just that," according to JustJared. Miley responded with a five-word speech. Yep, appearing briefly before some sparkly tinsel, presumably on her own computer, she told viewers to, "stay lit in dark times."

As Mary-Kate Olsen continues pressing for movement in her divorce from Olivier Sarkozy, new information is shedding more light on the reason for their split. In addition to their disagreement about the matter of children, there may have been basic lifestyle differences that couldn't be resolved, namely, Olivier "is a party boy and a big spender" who "loves the high life," a banking source tells People, while a source in The Row and Elizabeth and James designer's industry says she "prefers to be quiet and alone and doing the things she likes … [is] not that interested in socializing … [and] likes small gatherings with select people, leaving the two spending a lot of time apart. A judge recently denied Mary-Kate's May 13 recent request for an emergency order to file for the divorce she signed papers for privately in April. because of the pandemic, courts are only allowing divorce filings in emergency circumstances.

The specs run $55 to $75 and Quay will donate 100 meals to those in need via Feeding America for each purchase, according to ET. "My style is always evolving. I like to mix it up, and I love that this collection has a little bit of everything," Lizzo said in a statement about the new line. "There's one with glitter lenses, another with star-shaped studs. I like those kinds of special details. These glasses are fun and different."

Lorde has new music on the way, three years after 'Melodrama'

It's been repeated ad nauseum since the pandemic began, but they say Shakespeare wrote his best works during a plague. Now, it looks like some time off from the spotlight combined with a mandated life of social distance has inspired Lorde to bring us her third studio album … soon, though no release date has been revealed for the follow-up to 2017's "Melodrama." In a long email newsletter to fans on Tuesday, the singer shared a few personal updates — her hair is "big and long," she feels spiritually in balance and she's "grateful" for New Zealand's "calm, sensible leadership," among other tidbits — then revealed she's been in the studio in Los Angeles and Auckland since December with producer Jack Antonoff. Despite grieving her dog's death, she said she found "happy, playful things" were coming out of her musically at the end of last year. Now, the project seems closer to fruition. "I can tell you, this new thing, it's got its own colours [SIC] now. If you know anything about my work, you'll know what that means," she wrote (via EW). "We're still working away — Jack and I FaceTimed for over an hour this morning going over everything. But it'll take a while longer," she continued, explaining that she's come to appreciate "the pleasant feeling of waiting for something of quality to become available," and doesn't want to move too fast with the recording. Lorde also talked about the "brutal stage fright" disconnected feelings she experienced by the end of her last tour. "I still don't know what touring is gonna look like for me, sensitive sweet pea plant that I am," she joked. "But I know now how excited I am to get back out there. I want to be playing festivals again — hearing my intro music, watching the band walk onstage… Who knows when it'll be safe to do those things, but I'm craving them, and I wanted you to know." As viewers saw in a sneak peek for Thursday's "Total Bellas" (via People), Nikki met with a fertility specialist prior to getting pregnant, as she wasn't 100 percent sure she was "mentally in the right place right now" to start a family. "I want to be a mom one day, I really do," she said in the clip. "I've never taken the steps to prepare myself for that. I just want to ask a lot of questions," she adds. "I need to know some answers of what my future holds as a woman having a baby past 35." The doctor then tells her freezing her eggs might be her best shot to ensure she can still become a mom.

Following Britney Spears' son Jayden's less than helpful announcement that his mom "might just quit" music, another relative is weighing in on the singer's future plans. Britney's younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, recently sat down with THR to talk about her return to acting in the new Netflix series, "Sweet Magnolias." Given the recent 20th anniversary of "Oops, I Did It Again," the reporter also asked if Jamie thinks Britney sees herself the way Jamie does, as "a living legend." "No, not at all. She just doesn't," Jamie told the outlet. She later said, "the best part about being a living legend is that it's not finished … there's always more to come." But she doesn't really see making new music at the top of her sister's priority list. "I mean, right now, she's quarantining in L.A. But, in general, she's kind of just relaxing," Jamie explained. "And I think that's good. Britney deserves that. She's worked her a– off. So if she wants to make another album, great. But if she doesn't feel like it, she doesn't have to. She's given the world a lot. I don't think there are plans for anything — at the moment." Asked if that means Britney is not retiring from music, Jamie said she is not. "She's taking it day by day. And when she wants to make music, she'll make it. I don't think you can ever retire someone from their passion," she added.

Sia confirms she adopted two sons last year

After dropping a few very small hints about being a mom in interviews, Sia confirmed this week that she did, in fact, adopt two teenagers in 2019. "I actually adopted two sons last year," she said on SiriusXM's "The Morning Mash Up," on Tuesday, according to People. "They were both 18 — they're both 19 years old now. They were aging out of the foster care system. Yeah, and I love them." Sia, 44, publicly offered to adopt a teenager named Dasani who appeared on HBO's "Foster" last year and sounded unhappy and frustrated at the lack of stability in various foster homes. "They are both finding it pretty difficult, one more so than the other," Sia said of her sons. "But they're both doing things that are really good for them right now, that are really helpful. They're really doing a lot of educational stuff that's good for them." She didn't elaborate on whether she actually adopted Dasani, but in the tweet she sent him in May of 2019, she assured him he'd have a forever home with her.

Michelle Money's daughter lost a month of her life but is focused on her future after near-fatal skateboarding accident

Former "Bachelor" star Michelle Money's 15-year-old daughter is expected to make a full recovery after she spent 26 days in the hospital following a skateboard injury that nearly killed her. The teen and her mom participated in a Q&A on Instagram this week, where Brielle said that after the brain injury, she has a new outlook on and approach to life that's left her "grateful" for having gone through what she did. That may be, in part, because she has so little memory of the accident or the harrowing days and nights that followed. "I don't remember that day or the day before. … I do remember almost a week while I was in [the hospital], but it's just little pieces. It's still kind of a weird feeling. A month of my life is gone," she said, according to Us Weekly. Brielle was discharged from the hospital at the end of April. Since then, she's had hearing loss in one ear, her sense of taste is not what it was and she has a difficult time carrying on long conversations. Still, she can't believe how "positive" her world has been. "I think I've learned more from this experience more than anything else that I've been through," Brielle admitted. "I've learned to focus on school and to learn the path to get to for where I want to end up in the future. I want to go to Stanford. I'm gonna think about what steps I need to take to end up there, and I wasn't thinking about that before this happened, so I'm really grateful that this happened."
