Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-April 2019, starting with one of our favorite former power couples… According to court documents filed on April 12 and obtained by The Blast, a judge signed off on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's request to legally end their marriage even though they've yet to officially settle their divorce. (The former couple are still in the process of dividing their assets and ironing out a permanent custody agreement for their kids.) Three days later, The Blast reported that the pair made two more major steps toward completely parting ways: Brad filed his financial information, and his ex restored her name to "Angelina Jolie" after going by "Angelina Jolie-Pitt" during their marriage. "Dancing With the Stars" pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy tied the knot at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palo Verdes, California, on April 13. They said "I do" in front of 200 guests including "DWTS" professional dancers Maks Chmerkovskiy and wife Peta Murgatroyd, Lindsay Arnold, Hayley Erbert, Witney Carson, Emma Slater, Sasha Farber, Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Alan Bersten, Artem Chigvintsev and Brandon Armstrong as well as former competitors Nikki Bella, Candace Cameron Bure, Alfonso Ribeiro, Joe Amabile, Normani Kordei, Laurie Hernandez, Ginger Zee, Adam Rippon and more.

On the April 16 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Alex Rodriguez dished on his proposal to Jennifer Lopez, revealing that he "planned it for about six months" and rehearsed the actual question popping with his assistant on the beach in the Bahamas for three days in a row because he "wanted the sunset to be perfect." Said the former baseball star, "One time the sunset was at 6:27. The next day it was, like, 6:29. And then the third day it was raining. … So I kind of came out of it on 6:29 and said, 'This is the time where I'm gonna do it.' And it worked out well." He also explained why he chose to wear his World Series ring during the proposal: "I've only worn this ring probably a handful of times, but I said, 'this is a big moment.' I kind of gave it away because when she saw me put on the ring, she goes, 'Where we going with that ring?'" They haven't started wedding planning yet though. "We are still celebrating the engagement," said A-Rod.
Us Weekly reported on April 17 that, according to a source, Lady Gaga was "devastated at first" when she and Christian Carino called it quits earlier this year. According to the insider, the talent agent "infringed on her creative process." Said the source, "[She] couldn't risk jeopardizing her career in that way, over a man, and that's not something she would stand for."
In a preview for the April 21 episode of E!'s "Very Cavallari" that hit the Internet on April 17, Kristin Cavallari's bestie, stylist Kelly Henderson, opened up about her relationship with Bobby Bones. "We were kind of loosely dating. And we have this amazing chemistry and connection and we still do," she said during a confessional. "But once we decided to start working together, it's always been a big thing for me, like, I'm not gonna date a client." On the episode, Kelly and Bobby chat about her love life as she styles him for a photo shoot. "Talking to Bobby about dating is kind of awkward. … We were doing this and now I'm telling you how to do this with someone else," she said. "Ultimately, I think he just wants me to be happy and find a good guy, but he might be a little jealous too. I don't know. There might be some of that." After offering to serve as a consultant to screen her potential dates, Bobby told Kelly he'd offer this advice to her suitors: "Listen, I've been where you are. … Don't be alarmed by all the self-help audio all the time." He then shared some dark insights on dating with his former love: "There's a reason that we're in our mid-30s and we don't have anyone," he said. "You just have to look at our histories. We've had many, many relationships that haven't worked, so we can plan on many, many more that don't as well." Ouch! Fired back Kelly, "Speak for yourself, man. … That's a very negative attitude. You should probably listen to one of the self-help tapes I have." The conversation ended with Bobby asking Kelly if she'd ever consider dating him again. "Nope. I don't date my clients," she replied.
Back on? Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor, who called it quits in February, sparked rumors that they'd reconciled when they stepped out for a hike in Beverly Hills on April 13. But DailyMail.com reported that, according to a source, the pair "are just friends and nothing more." Said the source, "They are on very good terms and still like spending time together, but there is no romance between them, just friendship." Then on the April 17 episode of "Live with Kelly and Ryan," the host referred to himself as "unmarried" and "available" while joking that he could use the help of whomever set up his co-host, Kelly Ripa, and her husband, Mark Consuelos.
Jenni "JWoww" Farley "has moved on and is happy" following her contentious split from Roger Mathews, her rep told Us Weekly and E! News after the outlets started speculating that, based on recent social media posts, the reality star is seeing someone new. The buzz started after the "Jersey Shore" star took to her Instagram Story on April 12 to share snaps of herself spending time with a mystery man, though so far, she's only shared glimpses of his hand and arm. First, she posted a POV shot of her hand holding a glass of red wine during lunch on a patio overlooking a marina — pictured in the corner of the photo is the hand of a man seated next to her also holding a glass of red wine. Later, she shared a video of herself riding in the passenger seat of a car — this time, a male companion's shoulder is visible seated behind the wheel. Three days later, she posted a video of herself riding in a car as a male companion stroked her arm. "Face hurts from smiling," she wrote in the caption.
On the April 16 episode of "The Wendy Williams Show," Christie Brinkley offered a firm "No!" when asked if she'd ever get married again. ("Me neither, I mean, I don't know," said the hostess, who just filed to divorce Kevin Hunter on April 11 following more than two decades of marriage.) "I would love to fall in love again," continued the supermodel. "I love being in love. A little too much." Chimed in Wendy, "It's nice to spoon at night. It's nice to sit by the fire with somebody. But you have your own money." During her appearance on the daytime talk show, Christie, who's been divorced four times, also offered to help Wendy with her split: "Listen, if you need any help with lawyers, I can tell you… I have been through the entire phonebook of lawyers," she said. Replied the hostess, "I'll call you. I will whisper to you during the break. I have one, but I wanna hear what you'll say."
Meanwhile, Wendy Williams' estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, released a statement addressing their split on April 16. "28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn't realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world," he said. "I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally. I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs. Olivia Culpo and Zedd sparked romance rumors during Coachella. Video published by TMZ on April 17 shows the pair swaying close together during Ariana Grande's headlining set. According to the webloid, the pair were "cuddling in the artist area" and "were together for the whole set." The DJ reportedly wrapped his arms around the model, who leaned her head back on his chest as they danced together. Olivia was also seen watching Zedd's Coachella set from backstage. Andy Richter took to Twitter on April 13 to announce that he and "Strangers With Candy" alum Sarah Thyre are ending their marriage of more than two decades. "It is with sadness that Sarah and I announce that we have separated and have begun divorce proceedings," he tweeted. "We are extremely proud of the life we've built together and shared with so many friends over the years, and even though our marriage has reached its completion we will always maintain a loving friendship and parenting partnership." "Shameless" star Jeremy Allen White and longtime love Addison Timlin are engaged, Us Weekly confirmed on April 14 — two days after the actress was seen wearing a diamond sparkler on her ring finger during an outing in Los Angeles with her beau. The duo welcomed a daughter in October 2018.
Bella Thorne took to Instagram on April 15 to reveal that she and her boyfriend of nearly two years, Mod Sun, recently called it quits. "I will always love you. According to X17, the singer-actor and the same person were spotted kissing in Calabasas, California, on April 15, the day after the star-studded music festival came to an end. She appears to be the same woman Jaden was photographed kissing in Paris on March 5.
The Sun reported on April 13 that, according to a source, Naomi Campbell "has taken the decision to let things fizzle out" with Liam Payne after a few months of casual dating. "She's just not into Liam anymore and has cast him aside. Quite simply, she got a bit bored," said the source. "He was always the more keen, slightly needy one and, as far as she was concerned, they were never officially an item anyway. It's always been very casual." Another insider previously told the British tabloid that the supermodel had "maybe a bit of embarrassment due to the age [difference — she's 48, Liam is 25] and Liam being a bit of a step down from some of the mega-rich men she's dated" in the past.
Lauren Jauregui and Ty Dolla $ign sparked rumors that they'd called it quits after two years of coupledom by sharing cryptic social media posts on April 15. "I know the truth before it's given, I can read it in your feelins. Ladies, always listen to that little voice in ur heart," the Fifth Harmony singer captioned a slideshow of two mirror selfies. The rapper, meanwhile, archived all of his tweets except one: a single broken-heart emoji.
During an interview with Gayletter that hit the Internet in mid-April, Frank Ocean revealed that he has a serious boyfriend — but offered no other information on his mystery man. "I don't use dating apps. I've been in a relationship for three years," he said. "I definitely wasn't using dating apps before then. I don't think I would use dating apps now. … I wouldn't rule it out, but it is a little hectic being a famous person on dating apps."
Multiple media outlets reported on April 13 that Dina Lohan and long-distance love Jesse Nadler called it quits shortly before they were scheduled to meet in person for the first time. Jesse told TMZ that he dumped the reality star after they got in "a blowout argument over a book he promoted on his Facebook, which Dina thought was about another woman" — which he denied. She reportedly "flipped out on him" and later tried apologizing when she realized she'd been wrong, but by then, he'd decided they were through. He reportedly told TMZ that he didn't think there was any hope for a reconciliation, which contradicts what he told "Entertainment Tonight" — that he and Dina were still talking via text and that if she offered a sincere apology, he'd consider taking her back. Jesse also told "ET" that Lindsay Lohan's mom "wouldn't say 'I'm sorry,' even though she knew she was wrong" and that when she did eventually apologize, she didn't seem sincere. He went on to describe her as "very stubborn, headstrong, and … tough to deal with." But the biggest bombshell came when he told "ET" that he was planning to propose to Dina during a week-long trip to San Francisco, which would serve as their first in-person meeting. He added that he already bought the ring and is now "really hurting" in the wake of the breakup. A source close to Dina then went on damage control, telling TMZ, "ET" and People magazine that Jesse is lying about the split: "This is a storm in a teacup. There was no meeting scheduled as of yet because Dina was already suspicious that he was media hungry and she is in talks about doing several new shows — including a dating show. Bottom line is it's a non-story and this guy wants his 15 minutes of fame. He just proved her suspicions correct," the insider told all three outlets.
Chase Chrisley stoked speculation that he and longtime pal Brielle Biermann are dating when he posted and then deleted an old pic of himself kissing her on the cheek. "Years in the making," the "Chrisley Knows Best" star captioned the shot on Instagram on April 13. "Like 10 years," commented the "Don't Be Tardy" star. But according to an Us Weekly source, despite how the social media flirtation may make things appear, Brielle is "still single." As for Chase, he told HollywoodLife on April 10 that he's "very, very, very single" and "focusing on myself and being the best version of myself that can be." Another HollywoodLife source said that the photo Chase posted is "a few years old" and that he and Brielle "are good friends but they're definitely not dating."
Us Weekly reported on April 17 that, according to a source, Kylie Jenner is considering the cheating rumors about her boyfriend, Travis Scott, to be "white noise." Said the insider, "She knows everyone is always trying to get a rise out of her and her family. … Her and Travis are in a great place and she has no intention of breaking things off with him." The source added that the makeup mogul is "staying focused on her career and her little one."
During an interview with Women's Health that hit the Internet on April 16, Eva Mendes dished on how falling in love with her partner, Ryan Gosling, changed the course of her life. "It was the furthest thing from my mind," she said of the idea of having children before she met her beau. "[Then] Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have… not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him." The couple now have two daughters.
During an interview with InStyle that hit the Internet on April 10, Kit Harington dished on "the worst thing about falling in love" with and marrying his wife, former "Game of Thrones" co-star Rose Leslie: "It's going to be very hard to work with her again," he said. "Working opposite her was one of the highlights of my life and career. I don't know when, if ever, I'm going to get to do that again, because we're married now, and it's hard to work opposite your wife." During an April 12 appearance on FOX 5 New York's "Good Day New York," Senator Cory Booker revealed just how serious he is about his girlfriend, Rosario Dawson (pictured with "Dear Evan Hansen" actor Taylor Trensch). "She and I are not trying to put this through a political lens. We're just two people in love trying to build a great relationship every single day, because I'll tell you what — in my best case scenario, I get elected to president, I serve two terms. That's just 10 years, nine years of my life. What I'm trying to create with Rosario is something that will last forever," he said. "Rosario is making me dream even bigger dreams that have nothing to do with my professional life but to do with what I think really is about being happy." During an April 14 interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Nick Jonas dished on the close bond between his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, sister-in-law Danielle Jonas (brother Kevin Jonas's wife) and brother Joe Jonas's fiancée, Sophie Turner. "It's a great feeling," he said. "It's kind of a dream where, as close as we are as brothers, that our wives and fiancée are so connected as well. It's obviously a huge adjustment for everybody — talking about us getting back together as a band and working together so much again. These incredible women have handled it so well and have been the best support system for each of us, individually and as a group. To get to share that with them is a really amazing thing." He added of how family impacts his relationship with his missus, "We absolutely both are [very family-oriented], which is one of the things we were so drawn to about each other. People magazine reported on April 13 that, according to a source, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who got engaged on Valentine's Day, "are the happiest couple" and "just so excited about being engaged and planning a wedding." According to the insider, "They are secretive about details, but seem to want something smaller and intimate." The source added that the power couple is looking "forward to starting a family together as well."
During an interview for the cover of the May 2019 issue of Men's Health, which hit the Internet on April 17, Terry Crews revealed that his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, briefly left him in the winter of 2010 after he confessed that he'd been unfaithful a decade earlier. (They tied the knot in 1990.) "I was like, 'Wait a minute. I'm successful. I've got this and this. I'm living the dream.' And she was like, 'You can have this dream. I'd rather be broke. I'd rather be by myself,'" he recalled. "I said, 'All right, leave. I'll go get four more girls. I'll be fine. Everybody thinks I'm great.'" Ultimately, they reconciled and have been going strong ever since.
Longtime "The Price Is Right" announcer George Gray married high school math teach Brittney Green at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona, on April 13. The TV personality told Us Weekly that he met his missus in 2015 when they coincidentally ended up grabbing drinks at the same bar after she and two friends attended a taping of his show — but they didn't end up dating seriously until a year later. Two years after that, he proposed during a trip to Thailand. "I'm just absolutely crazy in love with her, and it just is very natural," he gushed to Us. "For me, I never felt the need to get married … and so, that's why I know it's right. It's not something I needed to do — it's something I really want to do."
