Dakota Johnson returns to work amid rumors she and Chris Martin had different plans for the future
Amid reports Dakota Johnson and Coldplay's Chris Martin have called it quits after more than a year and a half of dating, the "Fifty Shades" star got back to work over the weekend on her upcoming film, "Covers." Directed by Nisha Garata and co-starring Tracee Ellis Ross, the film is described on imdb as "a love story set in the Los Angeles music industry." If the real-life parallel bothered Dakota at all, she didn't let it show when she was spotted on set in a baggy denim onesie and a pair of Chucks. According to The Sun (via the Daily Mail), Dakota and Chris' split was a "surprise to everyone" they know. "They were very easygoing and always seemed really happy together. There was talk of engagement but now he says they have gone their separate ways," the insider told the British tab. Though neither star has addressed the split, rumors suggest they didn't see eye to eye when it came to children. A source told the Sunday Express Chris "made it clear that he wants more kids as soon as possible, but Dakota's career has really taken off and that's the last thing she wanted to think about right away," adding that they realized last month it made more sense to break up.

Italian duo arrested for George Clooney clothing line scam
George Clooney is many things — actor, activist, husband and dad. He is not, however, starting a clothing company and looking for investors. Unfortunately, not everyone who thought they were investing in George's company over the past few years was aware of that before they turned over their cash. Jezebel reports Italian scammers Francesco Galdelli and Vanja Goffi were arrested in Thailand on Saturday, June 15, for allegedly using George's name in connection with their business, which is also fake. It seems the pair arrived in Thailand in 2014 — two years after they fled a three-year prison sentence in Italy that they earned after George testified against them for using photos of him to promote their faux line. Jezebel cites a Bangkok Post report claiming the two were able to snag the Thai equivalent of $1.3 million by feigning Clooney-dom before their arrest.

After ending things with what Hailey Bieber once called "a dramatic excommunication" from each other's lives, Justin Bieber and his now-wife, Hailey, rekindled their romance last June at the VOUS Conference in Miami. This June, the couple returned to the Christian retreat, whose mission is to "encounter God, equip the church, and empower the next generation of leaders." Elle spotted the two wearing pieces from Justin's Drew clothing line at the event over the weekend. "Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through," Hailey said of their breakup in an interview with Vogue for the magazine's February issue. "The common denominator, I promise you, is always church," she explained. "By then we were past the drama. I just gave him a hug. By the end of the conference, he was like, 'We're not going to be friends.' I was like, 'We're not?'" They were engaged less than a month later.

Kim Kardashian West's Lyft partnership for former inmates raises eyebrows
As Kim Kardashian West continues advocating for criminal justice reform, she's looking at nuts and bolts ways to support prisoners upon their release. Last week, the reality star visited the White House again, where she announced she'll be working with Lyft — via the non-profit Cut50, which "works to cut crime and incarceration … by translating local needs into smart safety solutions," according to its website — to help transport as many as 5,000 recently released prisoners to job interviews. The original report, courtesy of TMZ, has already irked skeptics at Jezebel, who point out the fact that Lyft doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to looking out for its workers, whom the company reportedly hopes to "permanently classify … as contract employees." A rep for the company told Jezebel the partnership is with Cut50, which works with Kim's beauty line, KKW. The spokesperson also put some distance between Lyft and the White House, noting that it has no partnership with the Trump administration.
Did Rob Kardashian warn Blac Chyna he would not consent to having Dream appear on her show?
Back in February, Rob Kardashian and his ex, Blac Chyna, settled their custody case over their daughter, Dream, and seemed to be on good terms. That changed over the weekend when Chyna slammed Rob on social media for allegedly going through his legal team to demand she keep Dream off her new show, "The Real Blac Chyna." But source tells The Blast Rob did try to speak to Chyna directly before getting his lawyers involved — and Chyna never replied to his texts. "I'm not allowing Dream to be apart of this," Rob reportedly said in one message. "I'm not signing or allowing Dream to be apart of your series next time have your lawyer send to my lawyers since I never signed off and didn't give consent or even know about this," he allegedly wrote in another. A third text shows Rob claiming Chyna "never even told" him Dream would appear on the series, while a fourth said, "You DO NOT have my consent to put my baby on your show." Rob was reportedly worried about Dream appearing on the show in part because of the fight Chyna had with her mother that led police to be called to her home.
Tiffany Haddish compares Georgia 'heartbeat bill' to 'slavery'
Tiffany Haddish is opening up about her decision to postpone her June 22 show in Atlanta due to Georgia's "heartbeat bill," which effectively bans abortion when a fetal heartbeat can be detected (which can easily be earlier than the woman is able to know she's pregnant). When TMZ caught up with the comic outside Delilah in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 16, she explained that she can't perform in a place where women "can't have control over their bodies," saying HB481 "looks like slavery" to her. "I don't want anybody telling me they can control my body. I've been there I was state property as a foster youth," she said. "I belonged to the government of California, the government [got to] determine what I do with my body," Tiffany continued. Now I'm a grown woman — I get to determine what I do with my body." The "Girls Trip" star joins a growing list of celebrities and studios who have refused to work in places where such heartbeat bills, many of which make no exceptions for cases in which a pregnancy is the result of rape or incest, have been passed.
Liza Minnelli says Judy Garland 'would have laughed' if she saw Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's 'A Star Is Born'
Like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Judy Garland, who starred in the 1954 version of "A Star Is Born," would have had mixed feelings about Gaga and Bradley Cooper's take on the classic film. That's according to the late movie icon's daughter, Liza Minnelli, who recently told ET her mom "would have laughed" when she saw the reboot. "And then she would have gotten into it," Liza assured the outlet. "I can hear her saying, 'OK, let's go! Great to the end!'" The new version of the movie earned eight Oscar nominations but took home just one statue at this year's Academy Awards. Liza also commented on the upcoming film about her mother, which she has previously said she neither approved nor sanctioned. Asked if she'd seen the trailer, Liza told ET she had not. "No, no I haven't [seen anything]," she said. "I just hope they don't do what they always do. That's all I've got to say."
Zendaya warns 'Euphoria' viewers about potentially 'triggering' scenes ahead of premiere
Sam Levinson's controversial new HBO show, "Euphoria" centers around a group of teens struggling with drugs, sex, relationships, social media and identity issues had already garnered plenty of controversy before its Sunday, June 16, premiere. So ahead of the first episode, Zendaya, who plays Rue on the show, posted a warning that some parts might trigger certain viewers. "Just a reminder before tonight's premiere, that Euphoria is for mature audiences. It's a raw and honest portrayal of addiction, anxiety and the difficulties of navigating life today," she wrote on Instagram. "There are scenes that are graphic, hard to watch and can be triggering. Please only watch if you feel you can handle it. Do what's best for you. I will still love you and feel your support." Speaking to ET, the director previously said the situations around drug addiction, anxiety and depression in the show stemmed from his personal experience and that "intimacy coordinators and consultants" were brought on board to ensure the actors' comfort level. "It gives good insight into how young people are feeling in this moment in time, so maybe have compassion," suggested Maude Apatow, who plays Rue's friend. "You're not alone," Maude said. Bella Hadid has apologized for a photo of a shoe she posted on social media that some took as a derogatory message about Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The photo showed a shoe that looked somewhat like it was kicking the flags of the countries. "The photo of my shoe on my story yesterday had NOTHING to do with politics … I never noticed the planes in the background and that is the truth. I would never mean to disrespect these airlines, let alone these amazing countries," the model posted on her Instagram Story (via JustJared) on Sunday, June 16. "I want to send a sincere apology…," the post continued. "I hope you can understand the misunderstanding. I will be more responsible when bringing awareness to all causes, including my beloved Middle Eastern community."
Wyclef Jean refects on his Haitian presidential run: 'Rappers have brains'
Wyclef Jean explained to an audience at Cannes Lion this week why and how he became interested in politics in Haiti. "At a very young age, politics in Haiti has always been in the back of my mind, and I knew 80 percent of a population is living on less than a dollar a day," he said on the conference's "Facts, Fads and a Fugee" panel, according to Page Six. "They talk about me running [for president] but five years from that I was at the Congress — there were a few bills that I got passed for my country," he continued. Among those bills, he said, was the Hope Act, which Wyclef pushed for because of its job creation possibilities after the earthquake in 2010. "What I did in Haiti, it has galvanized the youth around the entire world because sometimes our job is not to get there, but our job is to inspire the next generation to get there," he added. He also admitted his bid for president got mixed reactions even among his friends. "I need people to understand that rappers have brains," he cracked. "I really don't think they understand how smarts celebrities are. Not all of them, you know, but a lot of them."
