Finding time for self-care is challenging for everyone — even A-list actresses! Take Jessica Biel, for example: Between supporting husband Justin Timberlake on the road, raising their son and producing the second season of her hit USA Network drama "The Sinner," the Golden Globe nominee has to work hard to pen-in (no pencil!) me-time on her calendar. Wonderwall.com caught up with the actress-producer as she promoted American Express's "Live Life" campaign — which is all about making time for the little things that enrich life — and got the scoop on her favorite way to splurge on herself, why the Biel-Timberlake clan isn't ready for a puppy after saying goodbye to their three beloved dogs and more! Keep reading for the highlights from our chat…

Jessica Biel on the American Express Experience and the brand's "Live Life" campaign:
"It's literally what I'm doing in my life constantly: trying to find this balance between work and life and family and me-time. … We're all really busy, and … where our work begins and life ends, we can't really tell the difference. It just all blends together. We have to stop and take the moments to be spontaneous and spend time with ourselves to have self-care and reinvigorate and rejuvenate ourselves so we can be the best moms and dads and bosses and employees that we can possibly be. … I just love that concept. It's really authentic to me because I'm doing that all the time."
Jessica Biel on the struggle to make time for self-care:
"It's a struggle, right? I'm still trying to figure out the balance and figure out the best way to find time for myself. I like to put it in the calendar. I put it in pen. This is my time. This is my hour or this is my afternoon. I have to force myself not to cancel it. And the more I do that on a consistent basis and the more I attempt to really relax in that time, then I'm hoping it will become a little bit more habitual and then it's going to be a part of my life — a part of my life that is something that I can't live without."

Jessica Biel on her favorite way to splurge on self-care:
"My No. 1 would be a weekend away — like a destination. I would splurge on an overnight hotel room. I would splurge on a nice body treatment for myself and a good dinner — a real experience: getting out of town, going away for the weekend, traveling someplace new. That's what I like to splurge on. I like shoes and I like bags and things, but I would rather buy [an experience] … and jewelry!"
Jessica Biel on being dog-less and why she's not ready to have a puppy:
"All of our dogs have passed on. They had long, lovely lives. I was sad to see them go, of course. But our three dogs really had wonderful, long lives. So we're dog-less. We're empty-nesters in that sense. It's not a sad thing. This happened over the last two years. It's just a part of life. But I think we always have that puppy-itch. You always feel like, 'Oh, yeah, let's do it. We should just do it! My kid would love it. It would be so fun!' And then you remember how much work it is, and honestly, I really feel like I have to think about the animal, and if you're doing a lot of traveling, you can't really provide the lifestyle where you're home a lot and you can focus on that animal. It just doesn't seem fair, and honestly, I'm at a point in my life where I just don't think I could handle it. I think that would be one of those moments where I'm … doing something that would probably cause a little more stress in my life. But we will have a puppy again for sure — I just don't know when."
Jessica Biel on the upcoming second season of "The Sinner":
"We are 100 percent in the development process and the writing process, which is really exciting. We will be shooting in the summer. We're working out our story. We have our season arc, the overview of what we want to do, and our writers are just furiously writing. We're kind of in the middle of pre-production. … All I can say is that we're going to be continuing with our theme that I think was really interesting for a lot of people: the 'why' and not so much the 'who.' And that's pretty much all I can say!"
Jessica Biel on the Emmy buzz for the first season of "The Sinner":
"It feels like, 'Is that a possibility? Our show came out so long ago! What do you mean?' Honestly, we've gotten such a great response and it's been such a wonderful ride — people actually like something you worked so hard on. I'm just thrilled to be in the conversation. I just can't believe it. I feel like, wow, thank you, yes! I love being in this company — even if it's just a conversation. I'm really proud of 'The Sinner' — probably more proud of it than anything else I've done in my career. So I just feel thrilled that I'm even part of the conversation at all."
Jessica Biel on how her experience as a producer on "The Sinner" changed her:
"The experience with 'The Sinner' was such a creative thing from the top to the bottom that I almost can't imagine being part of a project where I didn't have so much exposure to the behind-the-scenes [process]. It'll be strange when I'm hired as just an actor again."
Jessica Biel on what leads her down a rabbit hole on the Internet and social media:
"Animals, Earth pics, photography, travel. I go down these dark holes of cool travel and where to go to find the best spas and 'the 50 greatest things to do in Europe before you die' — stuff like that. I also like people doing silly stuff, like filming themselves falling — those funny Instagram feeds."
