Katy Perry is known for her poppy music, eccentric style, and, of course, kissing ladies. In the latest issue of Seventeen, the quirky singer talks about her her dream wedding, skin breakouts on tour, and what she really thinks about purity rings (spoiler: they're not for her).
You can see more on Seventeen's Web site and in its latest issue, which is now on newsstands.
On her diva wedding fantasies: "I would love to have the best party that anyone has ever been to. Some girls want to have a small little beach wedding. And I'm like 'No! I want the Celine Dion wedding!' Weddings can be so boring, and those people who say their vows for 45 minutes can be obnoxious. It's like, 'We know you're in love, show it.' I would have a secret choreographed dance for our first dance, where it turns into 'Saturday Night Fever' and stupid stuff like that where we have the same sense of humor about it."
On nixing cliques: "What I really remember about high school was that I never belonged to one clique. I was always a hop-around, and I always wanted to take from each little group and create my own thing."
On her purity ring-less finger: "I think that [Miley and the Jonas Brothers] set out to be role models, and I think, I at least hope they know what they're doing. Because once you say you're a role model, you're under a microscope and everyone is waiting and watching for you to do something, you know? And then there's this big pointing-of-the-finger thing. I mean, they have purpose being role models and having the promise ring thing. But it's not for everyone."
On her teen skin problems popping up: "I was on Warped Tour last year, during the summer, and I literally broke out like I had never broken out before. It was at the beginning of my career and you can see pictures of me from then until now it's total night and day. I just started being healthier to my skin. But I remember covering my face with my hair because I was so self-conscious I wouldn't even look my boyfriends in the eyes because of it! And I'm really not a self-conscious person, but that did me over."
On final goodbyes: "During a breakup, I almost want you to hate me, because I can't be friends with you. If I love you, I'm so in love with you that it's not, 'Sorry this isn't working out. Can we be friends?'"
