Is Selena Gomez wading back into the dating pool? That remains a bit unclear, but new reports from multiple outlets suggest the singer could have a new man in her life. According to Page Six, Instagram gossipers Deuxmoi have been studiously sharing screenshots and photos about Selena's friendship with Miami Heat player, Jimmy Butler. Then, last month, the Daily Mail chimed in to report another tidbit — that Selena had recently enjoyed what "seemed like" a dinner date in New York City's East Village with Jimmy. Finally, last week, the Miami Herald — by far the most reliable of the outlets buzzing about the alleged romance — published a roundup of even more chatter about the supposed couple. As for Selena and Jimmy, however? So far, neither has weighed in on the reports. And as Selena joked in a YouTube interview back in September, she's not convinced she even wants to date right now. "It's just funny that I release things that say I want a boyfriend and stuff …and I'm like, 'I didn't really mean it, though,'" she said at the time. "Guys are a lot of work," she added.

The reason the self-proclaimed "Queen of Christmas" loves Christmas is not what you think. In an extensive new interview ahead of the Apple TV+ premiere of her "Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special," on Friday, Dec. 4, Mimi opens up to Elle about her holiday fanaticism. As it turns out, the singer knows all about the darker aspects of Christmas — in particular, the ones where the harsh realities of a kid's home life can eclipse the cultural promise of a, well, "magical Christmas." "I think it's just that longing that I had as a child, that I always wanted things to be perfect for the holidays. And they never were," Mariah explains. "It was always somebody ruining the moment, always these dysfunctional family members who came around and foiled everything. And so I just made a pact with myself that I wasn't going to allow that to happen anymore." After splitting from Tommy Mattola, Mariah says she set about creating "the Christmases that I wanted to have," which she now does with a focus on the twins she shares with Nick Cannon. "I literally go to a snowy place. Reindeer are there. I'm not making this up. Santa Claus comes, hangs out with the kids. And by the way, even if I didn't have kids, I would be doing this," she says. Mariah also opens up about why she tries to stay youthfully optimistic — even rooted in an age-12 mentality. "A lot of very bad stuff happened to me when I was 12," she admits. "But also, there is the spirit of that kid, that fighter who doesn't give up, who does embrace who she is, even though the world didn't understand that from my point of view." Looking back, Mariah says that in spite of the dysfunction, Christmas felt like "maybe the one time that I got to breathe for a second" as a kid. Mariah's special also features appearances by Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Misty Copeland, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish and Billy Eichner.

"I'm going to have as many as Hailey is willing to push out," Justin, 26, said light-heartedly. "I'd love to have myself a little tribe. It's her body and whatever she wants to do." Asked what was holding the couple back from starting a family right away, Justin said Hailey, 24, still has goals she'd like to check off her list before motherhood. "There's not really an issue, but I think Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman. And I think she just is not ready yet, and I think that's OK," Justin said. In 2019, ET reminds us, Hailey told Vogue she wouldn't be in baby mode "for at least a couple of years" still.

Travis Scott clearly shares his on-off love Kylie Jenner's knack for business. A new report from Forbes — in which the mag dubs Travis "corporate America's brand whisperer" — delves into the creative ways Travis collaborated with Epic to perform a nine-minute concert "inside" the world of the game "Fortnite." Not only did his performance break records for the number of players who logged on — it also made some serious money waves. According to Forbes, Travis grossed about $20 million before taxes for the show and merch related to it. "It was an opportunity to go to the max, to create a world that permits won't let you do, fire marshals won't let you do, building codes won't let you do," Travis told the outlet. "To have unlimited fun." That's not all the rapper (and dad to Stormi Webster) has in the works, business-wise, either. This week, his team announced Travis is selling a new, limited-edition colognes and candles. The TRAVX collab features a line called Space Rage. A bottle of its Eau De Parfum retails for $285, while a similarly scented candle will run you $95, according to Billboard.
Helena Bonham Carter : 'The Crown' has 'a moral responsibility' to acknowledge it's a drama
Just days after the U.K.'s Secretary of Culture Oliver Dowden told the Mail on Sunday he wants Netflix to add a disclaimer to "The Crown" acknowledging it's a fictional series, Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Princess Margaret, made a similar point on the show's official podcast. "It is dramatized," Helena said on the episode, which TooFab notes was recorded "earlier this year." "I do feel very strongly, because I think we have a moral responsibility to say, 'Hang on guys, this is not — it's not a drama-doc, we're making a drama.' And they are two different entities." Helena's remarks came as she reflected on Season 4's "The Hereditary Principle" episode, in which Margaret does some family history research that leads her to discover some members of the royal family had been declared dead but were actually alive, living in a mental institution. "I don't know what happened in the real version, but in our version, we're talking about a time when rules were rules and that's what defines a monarchy," Helena explained. (In the "real version," via Wikipedia, Margaret and Queen Elizabeth's first cousins Nerissa and Katharine Bowes-Lyon were sent to live at Earlswood Hospital for the mentally disabled in 1941. The family record, "Burke's Peerage" listed them as having died in 1940 and 1961; Nerissa actually passed away in 1986, while her sister died in 2014.) Helena added that a huge research document is put together ahead of each season, but show creator Peter Morgan "switches things up and juggles" those facts for the sake of drama.

Chase Rice jokes about having COVID-19 symptoms to promote new music
Country singer Chase Rice is facing a new round of COVID-19-related criticism. Back in June, Chase was hit with backlash for performing at an apparently mask-free, crowded concert amid surging positive cases of coronavirus. This time, the culprit was a not-so-funny joke he made about having symptoms of the illness that has killed at least 1.47 million people worldwide this year. "Just lost my taste and smell. Weird. Also, dropping a single at midnight," Chase tweeted this week. He later added: "On a real note. Don't have covid. But I'm dropping a single tonight. With 2 guys that I learned a lot from …," It was an attempt to promote his new song, "Pretty Spot On," with Florida Georgia Line. But it didn't go over quite as planned. "I've lost all my respect for you this year. Congrats. I'll be turning off the radio every time it comes on," one Twitter user responded (per Us Weekly). "Really in bad taste to joke about Covid," another user tweeted. "Thought you had learned something since the concert incident this year. Guess not. Here's an idea: take all the earnings from this song and donate to Covid survivors or donate PPE to local hospitals. Do better, Covid is not a joke." While some fans applauded Chase for the new tune or urged other users to be "a little more lighthearted during this time," a number of those responses sparked a thread of arguments.
Hugh Grant says he 'loves' Renee Zellweger and they're still close
All these years after their "Bridget Jones" movies, Hugh Grant and Renee Zellweger are still tight. In a chat with Jess Cagle on his Sirius XM show this week, Hugh said that Renee is actually "one of the few actresses I haven't fallen out with," before singing her praises at length. "I love Renee," Hugh gushed (per ET). "We got on very well together, and we still exchange long emails. Hers in particular — at least 70 pages each," he quipped. "Interesting stuff, but quite hard to decipher," he joked. Getting more serious, he added: "She's a properly good egg and a genius. Did you see her Judy Garland? About as good as acting gets."
