Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith were in 'constant conflict' over parenting issues
Jada Pinkett Smith's latest edition of her web talk show, "Red Table Talk," focuses on her kids — and the conflicts she and her husband, Will Smith, have had when it comes to raising them. In a conversation with Jaden Smith, 19, Willow Smith, 17, and Jada's own mom, Adrienne Banfield Norris, Jada says she and Will clashed over Jaden's interest in wearing skirts and dresses, which Jada says impressed her coming from "a black young man" who happens to be "the son of like an über masculine hip-hop star" (Jaden was 6 the last time his dad released an album but sure). "I remember Will calling me and being like, 'Have you talked about this Jaden and him wearing a skirt?'" Jada recalls, according to the Daily Mail. "And I said, 'Yeah, I have. He's pretty happy about it.' … [He] 'talked about wanting to wear skirts to give kids the freedom, to give other people the freedom to think out of the box for themselves and not feel like in doing that that they would be bullied or be attacked in some way." The actress also admitted she and Will argued "constantly" about the training Jaden endured for his "Karate Kid" reboot, which Jada adamantly opposed. "I understand why men take their sons away for like whatever kind of warrior training because it is completely, utterly unfair and unnatural for a woman to have to sit and watch anything like that for her son," she said. "Will and I were in constant conflict, to the point where we were warring over Jaden," Jada says. More conflict apparently came up when Willow's "Whip My Hair" became a huge success. Ultimately, though, Jada says she's nothing but proud of her kids. "Even in those battles that we've had over what's too much, what's too little, trying to find the balance in regards to parenting," she explains to the teens, "I'll tell you one thing about the two of y'all: Y'all know how to work, you work hard, and you do it well."

The Cavs lost for the third time in a row, putting them in a tough spot for the best-of-seven series. But Khloe seemed to be in good spirits, according to TMZ, which spotted her flashing a smile as she headed "backstage" at the arena on Wednesday, June 6. Khloe and Tristan's nearly 2-month-old daughter, True, is still a little young to join her mom in the stands, but Khloe kept herself busy posing for pics with fans during and after the game. Although Kris said last week she thought Khloe was heading back to L.A. on a permanent basis, insiders previously told ET she was still planning to stay put with True and Tristan in Cleveland.

Kim Kardashian West plans to meet with Alice Maria Johnson
Just one week after Kim Kardashian West met with Donald Trump to discuss the life sentence imposed on Alice Marie Johnson for a first-time, nonviolent drug charge, the president granted the 63-year-old great-grandmother clemency. Now, Kim's hoping to meet with Alice in person as soon as possible, according to TMZ, which reports the meeting could happen this week. When Kim learned Alice would be released from federal prison after 22 years, she thanked the president, Jared Kushner and "everyone who has showed compassion & contributed countless hours to this important moment for Ms. Alice Marie Johnson," adding, "Her commutation is inspirational & gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance." Kim also tweeted, "I hope to continue this important work by working together with organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition." She's already getting some flack from her followers, though, both for not citing the names of those organizations and for failing to discuss "prison reform or anything on an institutional or systemic level" that could help others facing equally harsh sentences. Trump, who has said he and Kim did discuss the larger issues involved in Alice's case, has been questioned by pundits with regard to his motives, given his 2017 remarks that seemingly endorsed police brutality. Sarah Huckabee Sanders later said he'd been joking.

"Dem babies" are apparently turning into dem MENSA candidates. Mariah Carey stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" this week, where she gushed about the 7-year-old twins she shares with Nick Cannon — and admitted Moroccan has become quite the online shopper. "My son is like a technological genius. I have to control [my kids] with iPads because literally he charged $5,000 on Amazon," the singer told Jimmy (via the New York Post). "The other night apparently he was with Nick and he ordered a dog. They called him and they were like, 'Your dog is ready.' And he was like, 'I didn't order any damn dog!'" Jimmy wondered what happened to the dog that was ready and Mariah assured him there would be no puppy arriving in the mail anytime soon. "We have enough dogs!" she exclaimed. "The dog's been canceled. We have dogs, we have pets, they have fish!" While Moroccan is working on his online pet curating skills, his sister, Monroe, seems to be showing signs of an interest in stardom. "They actually recorded a song. No one's heard it yet," Maria teased. "They're definitely talented. They're very unique kids and they're super smart. I wrote the song — but my daughter was like, 'I really need to get back in the studio!' and I'm like, 'Are you me?'" The song may or may not see the light of day, though. "I have to talk it over with Nick and see how he feels about it," she said. "I would be very angry if he released a song without asking me. Sorry, Nick!"

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel this week, Jennifer Lopez admitted that while her romance with former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is mostly sunshine and rainbows, there is something that could end their relationship for good. "I have like tons of trophies. I'm so competitive," she admitted (via JustJared). "When [Alex and I] work out, I think, 'I can beat you.'" That's when Jimmy pointed out, "If he does challenge you, then it may lead to a competition and there's no winning that for him." She agreed: "If he beats me, it's over."

"Ask the godparents or 'mentors' to write their own promises to your little one." Carole also suggests inviting guests to contribute "handwritten notes, photographs or trinkets" in a "time capsule" box that can then be given to the child when he turns 18. Finally, she recommends sending guests home with party favors like "votive candles, pretty chocolates and silver charms." The palace has yet to announce a date for Prince Louis' christening.
Lil Wayne wins $10 million-plus settlement in Birdman, Cash Money, UMG lawsuit
The drawn-out court battle between Lil Wayne, Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group has been settled — and Weezy won big. The Blast reports a lawyer for the New Orleans-born rapper filed documents on May 23 announcing plans by everyone involved to drop the lawsuit. Insiders tell the website Universal forked over more than $10 million to Wayne, whose deal with Cash Money Records is officially over. Weezy initially sued Birdman and his label, which is a subsidiary of UMG, on grounds he was owed more than $10 million, part of which was related his album, "Tha Carter V." He's now reportedly free to release the album. According to The Blast, Universal assumes it will recoup whatever it paid Wayne in profits from sales of Drake and Nicki Minaj's music. Wayne had previously accused Cash Money of underpaying those and other artists with whom it had contracts. He also wanted joint copyright ownership of their catalogues of music, as well as that of Young Money, according to previous reports.

Carter Sarkar, 6, is suffering from Sanfilippo syndrome, or children's Alzheimer's, and his parents are hoping they can raise $1 million to get him into a clinical trial that could be his final hope. THR reports celebs including Jamie, as well as Selena Gomez, Jonah Hill, Sidney Poitier, Kate Mara, Jack Black, Debra Messing and others, have pitched in with donations and help spreading the word about the GoFundMe campaign set up by Carter's mom and dad. The money needs to be raised in one month, otherwise, he may not be eligible due to the degeneration his brain will likely have undergone if they wait much longer. Quoting the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation, THR says that in children suffering from the disease, "effects on the brain become apparent between 2-6 years of age — speech problems, developmental delays, challenging behaviors, extreme hyperactivity, and poor sleep. … Children go on to experience progressive dementia similar to Alzheimer's, stealing away their skills and knowledge, until they pass away, often in their teenage years." When THR caught up with Carter's mom, Jen, she said, "We are true believers that it takes a village to raise a child. We consider everyone a part of Carter's village now. They are giving him a chance at life."
Woody Allen thinks he should be the 'poster-boy' for #MeToo in what Dylan Farrow calls an attempt to save his career
In a recent interview with an Argentine TV outlet, Woody Allen said he should be the "poster-boy for the #MeToo movement," explaining that unlike other men in Hollywood, he's only been accused of sexual impropriety "by one woman in a child custody case which was looked at and proven to be untrue." The New York Post points out that in addition to his daughter, Dylan Farrow, alleging repeatedly that he molested her when she was 7 (which he's denied), Mariel Hemingway has claimed the director came on to her when they were working together in the 70s; she was 18 at the time and he was 44. After catching wind of the interview, Dylan chimed in on Twitter. "All Woody Allen's recent antics demonstrate his desperation to salvage a now faltering career …," she posted on Tuesday, June 5. "Everything he says now is nothing more than calculated PR strategy in an attempt to undermine the credible allegations against him. We're all wiser to that now and know the lengths powerful men will go to in order to demean and silence their victims."
Conrad Hilton pleads no contest in grand theft auto case, gets three years probation
Paris and Nicky Hilton's brother, Conrad, was sentenced to three years of probation this week after pleading no contest to taking a Bentley from Rick Salomon's house without permission in order to visit his ex-girlfriend, who had a restraining order out against him at the time. According to the New York Post, the vehicle charge was a felony. A new court order has also been issued to keep Conrad away from his ex, Hunter Daily Salomon, as well as her father and her mother, for three years. As part of his sentence, the 24-year-old is also mandated to take mental health and addiction counseling. He's been in and out of trouble with the law — and in and out of rehab — repeatedly over the last few years.
