"What About," Janet Jackson's song about domestic violence, still appears to be hitting home with the singer. Despite her tears, the newly single star is reportedly doing better than ever now that she's split from her husband Wissam al Mana. "She's a stronger woman and is very happy with her show," an insider tells the New York Post. "It's who she is. She's herself again, owning the stage."

Katy Perry banned from China ahead of Victoria's Secret show: Report
Victoria's Secret may be regretting its decision to stage its 2017 show in Shanghai. After reports that fashion writers have already canceled due to trouble procuring visas and producers have struggled to obtain permits to shoot the show the way the want, Katy Perry and a number of the models slated to appear at the event have had to bail over the Chinese government's strict entry policies. "[Katy] was initially granted a visa to perform at the VS show in Shanghai, then Chinese officials changed their minds and yanked her visa," a source told the New York Post. "For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social-media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country. Maroon 5 was banned a few years ago because one band member wished the Dalai Lama happy birthday on Twitter." Katy's situation reportedly changed after the authorities discovered she'd performed in a dress with sunflowers on it the year after protesters in Taiwan used sunflowers as part of their demonstrations against Chinese control of the island. Harry Styles is set to perform in Katy's place. Gigi Hadid will also not be allowed to participate in the show. In her case, the government reportedly learned she'd posted a video on Instagram in which she held up a Buddha-shaped biscuit and squinted her eyes, pretending to look like it. The post was widely deemed to have been racist. Last year, the company held its show in Paris amid heightened security concerns following Kim Kardashian West's robbery in October.

Amber Heard: Smart and pretty 'are not mutually exclusive'
Amber Heard is over the idea that women have to choose brains or beauty, whether onscreen or off. In her new cover story for Allure, the actress explains how forceful she's had to be with her agents to find roles that portray a fully developed character — and how that issue plays into her daily life. "I was wired from an early age: I don't want to be the princess. I want to be the prince. I want to do the fun stuff. I would rather be brave or smart than pretty. They're not mutually exclusive, my face and my brain," Amber says. "We have this medulla approach to humanity. We separate the soul from the body ….[As a kid,] seeing princesses in my books called beautiful was frustrating. I found the same frustration in Hollywood. I read 5 to 10 scripts a week, and 4 out of 5 have nothing else to say about the female lead. Always the same adjectives: beautiful or sexy or some version of it. I started saying to my agents, 'Don't send me scripts where the first adjective in the female description is "beautiful." And if the second is "enigmatic," throw it in the trash.' The word 'enigmatic' means 'Her backstory doesn't matter.' I fell for that so many times."
Ben Affleck addresses sexual misconduct allegations on 'The Late Show'
When Ben Affleck stopped by "The Late Show" this week, Stephen Colbert was ready to play some hardball. Once he dispensed with the obligatory "Justice League" talk, Stephen told Ben how much he liked the movie, "Good Will Hunting." "Now, the person who made that film for you, the person who started your career, was Harvey Weinstein," Stephen said, according to E! News. Ben, who recently apologized for allegedly "tweaking" a woman's breast on "TRL" after she brought it up on Twitter amid the sexual misconduct allegations sweeping Hollywood. (He has yet to comment on a similar allegation brought by a makeup artist.) "This is a comedy show, correct?" Ben asked. "This is a comedy show, but we also talk about the subject of the moment, what the national conversation's about," Stephen said. "After the revelations — the disturbing and just truly horrifying revelations about what Harvey Weinstein did — did you feel, because you had such a close association with him at the beginning of your career, that you had to do more than simply distance yourself from Harvey Weinstein?" Ben admitted that he did. Later, when Stephen mentioned the specific allegations brought against Ben, the actor was forced to acknowledge them. "What I was accused of by a woman was of touching her breast while giving her a hug. I don't remember it, but I absolutely apologized for it. I certainly don't think she's lying or making it up," he said. "It's just the kind of thing we have to, as men, I think, as we become more aware of this, be really, really mindful of our behavior and hold ourselves accountable and say, 'If I was ever part of the problem, I want to change. I want to be part of the solution.' And to not shy away from these awkward or strange encounters we might have had where we're sort of navigating and not knowing." He went on to say, "I think the most important thing to do is to support the voices coming forward, believe them, and create a business where more women are empowered and in place so less of this happens, and so there is a way of reporting this stuff so that people can feel safe doing it."

Bella Hadid has her guard up as she gets close to The Weeknd again
With Selena Gomez back in PDA mode with her ex, Justin Bieber, is The Weeknd pursuing his ex, Bella Hadid? The two have reportedly been spending time together at her place in New York City and though a source tells E! News "they are not back together," it doesn't sound like a romantic relationship is off the table. "He has expressed to her that he loves her still, and they will always have a real connection. He also apologized for hurting her in the past," says the insider, who adds that Bella is being cautious. "She still loves him but has her guard up. She never really got over him," says the source. "She is not looking to be exclusive with him now, just to be his friend. His schedule won't allow him to stay focused on her—she knows this from past experience. She also knows he is talking to a few girls still. She reads what is put out in the news and that affects her. … She is stronger this time around. She would give Abel another try, maybe down the road, but is taking small steps before she jumps back into a relationship." According to a second source,"She still loves him, but she is keeping her options open."
