Katy Perry on her relationship with Orlando Bloom in quarantine: It's 'amazing and commendable' that 'he's still here'

Orlando Bloom gets a gold star from his significant other, Katy Perry, who joked in an interview that he's done a "commendable" job of dealing with her during the couple's self-isolation. In a chat pegged to her new single, "Daisies" on SiriusXM Hits 1's "The Morning Mash Up," on Friday, May 16, the pregnant singer admitted she's had her moments lately. Her fiance, however, seems to be weathering whatever storms she's put him up against with aplomb. "Well, what I have actually learned, some of the positives, because he's seen it all and God bless him, he's still here, which is amazing and commendable," Katy marveled (via Glamour). "Because I have definitely tested him and been like, 'Oh yeah? You think you can handle me? Let's see it!'" Part of his ability to stay calm and present probably comes from a favorite hobby the actor's been indulging in, according to Katy. It seems the two have turned a TV room into a "Lego room," an apparent necessity, given Orlando's obsession with "Legos that are super hard to do," the completed versions of which now hang on what Katy says is basically his "championship Lego wall" display. "There are Legos everywhere, and he'll just get a little pour of a rye whiskey and he'll sit down and he'll do his Legos for like four-and-a half, five hours if he wants to at night," she said. "He'll literally come out with like a James Bond car or a Porsche or something dope. And now this had led him to looking at maybe building his own car." She's previously said Orlando also spends a good deal of time doing some serious cycling, which gives her "space" when she needs it. The couple announced they're expecting in early March. They've since had to postpone their wedding, which was reportedly planned to take place this summer in Japan.

John Krasinksi gets teary-eyed during 'Some Good News' finale

John Krasinski signed off in the finale to his eight-episode "Some Good News" YouTube series on Sunday with a show dedicated to the "SGN Community" — and a whole lot of emotion. After sharing fan-made art, animation and homages to the show and to one another, John shared clips in which viewers could be seen being good samaritans in their own comunities, both online and otherwise, to lift some spirits as the world continues to wrestle with the COVID crisis. "For all my attempted jokes throughout these episodes, the truth is that I have been so incredibly moved by this community of people, by the community of artists who have allowed me to experience this show each and every week through their own very unique lens," the "Office" alum explained (via the LA Times). "And after being spoiled all this time with you sharing your incredible talents only with me, I thought it was time to share them with the rest of the world." He ended by saying he'd "saved the best for last because there has been no greater source of smiles than in getting to make this show." Looking teary-eyed, John added that it's been a "tremendous honor" to share the show's good deed-doing with his viewers. "I only deliver the good news. You are the good news," he said. "And that's why, every single week, if you can look past the goofy guy wearing half a suit, you'd see what resilience really looks like, what unbroken really means. And through witnessing each and every simple act of kindness and generosity, you would see what the true definition of good really is." Finally, he thanked fans "for making this show very special," and promised, "we will see you again," suggesting the "finale" might just be the end of the first batch of episodes.

According to Page Six, the maybe-couple traded playful barbs about one another's cards skills and "blushed" during one of the birthday girl's sexier songs. Told to "get a room" by another virtual partygoer, Common replied, "We got 1," to which Tiffany agreed.

Marc Maron remembers Lynn Shelton in emotional podcast after her sudden death

Indie filmmaker and TV director Lynn Shelton, Marc Maron's partner in life and work, died Saturday after she became suddenly ill with what turned out to be a rare blood disorder. The comedian and writer, who met Lynn in 2015 when she was a guest on his WTF podcast and went on to with her on "GLOW" and "Sword of Trust," dedicated his show Monday to Lynn, replaying the interview from their first meeting. Before he did that, Marc shared a heartfelt and heartbreaking tribute to his late love, who was just 54 when she died. "She was my partner. She was my girlfriend. She was my friend. And I loved her. A lot. And she loved me, and I knew that," he said of the "Little Fires Everywhere" director, according to EW. "I was so comfortable with this person, with Lynn Shelton. And I'm not really that comfortable emotionally or otherwise, but I was able to exist in a place of self-acceptance because of her love for me. I made her laugh all the time. She made me laugh. We were happy," Marc said, audibly struggling. He recalled how she became sick with what seemed like strep throat, she was tested for COVID-19 and told she was clear and finally last week, she was told to get medical help given her fever. Marc said he told her she should get a blood test the next day. Before she could do that, Marc heard her collapse in the hallway during the night."She was conscious but delirious a bit. I called 9-1-1, they came and got her, and that was the last time I saw her alive was on the floor being taken away," he said. "She was an amazing woman. She was an inspiration to some people," he continued. Speaking of their "connection," he said he suddenly had "no self-consciousness" with her. "I was definitely a better person when I was engaged with her, as a guitar player, as a lover, as a human, as everything," he said. "I was better in Lynn Shelton's gaze."

Prince William, Duchess Kate launch 'Mental Health Minute' with massive radio broadcast

On Monday, Prince William and Duchess Kate broadcast a message about mental health during the pandemic on nearly every radio station in the U.K. Just one minute long and posted on Instagram as well, the "Mental Health Minute" PSA featured cameos from Dua Lipa, soccer champion Harry Kane and other celebs, as well as Will and Kate, and represented a kickoff to Mental Health Awareness Week in the U.K., as part of Will and Kate's Heads Together campaign. "We're all connected," William says in the clip. "And sometimes just talking about how you're feeling can make a big difference. So right now, let's join together across the UK and reach out to someone." Kate picks up where her husband left off, saying: "If you're struggling, it's important to talk about it. Or if someone you know is acting differently, it's OK to ask how they are. Use this moment to send a message." At the end of the message, which was reportedly broadcast to 20 million people at 11 a.m. The clip wraps up with everyone who chimed in reminding listeners and viewers, "Because we're all connected and you're not alone." Monday also marked the launch of a new collaborative project produced by Heads Together and Instagram called Heads Together Wellbeing Guides. The guides are intended to provide guidance and resources for trusted mental health recommendations. The first three guides focus on talking, self-care and kindness, according to Harper's Bazaar.

Joe Giudice set to fight in a celebrity boxing match in October

Last fall, as he sat in an ICE detention center ahead of his deportation to Italy, Joe Giudice was focused on staying in shape in the hopes of landing an MMA deal. He's apparently continued his training in Europe– and finally found an opportunity to get in the ring. Damon Feldman, a celebrity boxing promoter, tells TMZ Joe's contracted for a fight against a TBD opponent in the Bahamas on Oct. 24. The match will be comprised of three, 1 minute and 30-second rounds, according to the outlet. Joe, who's still hoping to appeal his deportation, will be paid based on the number of viewers of the Pay-Per-View event, according to the website.

Jessica Alba's becoming her family's personal hairstylist

A month after she first cut her own hair in quarantine, Jessica Alba tried out her new scissor skills on her daughters, Honor and Haven. The actress turned the mini makeovers into a new YouTube video That shows her following instructions and suggestions from celebrity stylist Jen Atkin. And while the clip does feature the occasional grimace from the girls, who don't look entirely convinced their mom knows what she's doing, Jessica ultimately managed to get three inches off 8-year-old Haven's hair without any hair emergencies. She even successfully gave layers to 11-year-old Honor — not the easiest feat for an amateur stylist. "I did an OK job," she says in the video (via Vogue). "I trimmed her hair, blended it, gave it little layers." She also gave herself a few injuries, judging from the bandages on her fingers, and cane to have what she called on Instagram, "SO much newfound respect for hairstylists."

Elon Musk's recent Twitter use isn't scoring him too many big wins in the New Friends department. The fallout from his recent post about "[taking] the red pill" — a reference to "The Matrix" often used by the alt-right to mean accepting difficult truths (as opposed to the reality averting "blue pill") — is the latest case in point. The car designer's tweet seemed to be about his demand that Tesla workers return to his factories in spite of CDC safety warnings and California state law regarding the pandemic. But "taking the red pill" has also been used by men's rights organizations, a point that wasn't lost on the mother of Elon's partner, Grimes. Sandy Garossino, Grimes' mom and the grandmother of  X Æ A-12, Grimes and Elon's infant son, is also a veteran journalist with a large following via column for Canada's National Observer. In a since deleted tweet that appeared to take aim at Elon, Sandy wrote (via Page Six): "If your partner went through a challenging pregnancy and childbirth in the last two weeks, and you were over 16 years old, would you be blaring MRA bulls–t on Twitter right now?" Grimes snapped at Elon on Twitter recently, too, asking him to please cut her a break for calling the plane that partially inspired their son's name "A-17″instead of "A-71," a mistake her loving beau corrected publicly on the social media platform while Grimes was still recovering from surgery and childbirth.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump posted a video that had him edited in to make it look like he was the president delivering the famous speech Bill Pullman made in the film, "Independence Day." The clip, which also stars superimposed versions of Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Jr., Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, got tons of play, going viral within hours of the president's post. And yes, Bill Pullman knew it was out there. Asked to comment on the clip, he told THR: "My voice belongs to no one but me, and I'm not running for president — this year," Pullman told The Hollywood Reporter.

Leonardo DiCaprio launches support fund for Africa's oldest park and reserve

Leonardo DiCaprio's Earth Alliance foundation is stepping up to support Africa's Virunga National Park as it faces various threats related to COVID-19 and Ebola. JustJared reports Leo's newly launched Virunga Fund will provide $2 million in seed funding to the park, which hosts endangered animal species like the mountain gorilla.n"I had the great honor of meeting and supporting Virunga's courageous team in their fight against illegal oil drilling in 2013," Leo said in a statement. "Virunga urgently needs funds to protect the endangered mountain gorilla population, to provide support to the rangers and the families of rangers who have fallen in the line of duty, and to help deliver essential disease prevention efforts. It's critical that we rally together during this time of incredible crisis." His comments come just weeks after multiple park employees were killed in a militia attack in the region. The fund is slated to help cover the cost of protecting the park, the communities around it and the animals that call it home while supporting the dissemination of disease prevention information and law enforcement.
