Kendall Jenner just took Instagram live for a spin for the first time. In honor of National Voter Registration Day, which fell on Tuesday, the model invited Jon Favreau — the political commentator, not the actor and director — to join her for a video chat about how high the stakes are for this year's election on Nov. 3., which is now just 42 days away. "Happy National Voter Registration Day! As I'm getting ready to vote, I wanted to make sure you guys were ready to vote, and registered, and feeling great about it," Kendall told viewers as the Live got underway (via JustJared). From there, the two discussed everything from voter suppression and voter turnout to the biggest issues in the year's election. "If you don't like what's happening in America right now, I honestly think this election is your last chance to change it," Jon said at one point. "Voting won't elect a savior, it won't solve all our problems, but voting will give us a chance to do something about climate change, systemic racism, healthcare, and education." He added that casting a vote is also a chance to correct some of the problems plaguing American politics in 2020 — and to ensure that "that we're not all at each other's throats like we are right now." A newly single Christina Anstead returned to the set of "Flip or Flop" Monday with her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, at her side and a smile on her face. The former couple, who split in 2016, are currently filming Season 9 of "Flip or Flop" ahead of its Oct. 15 premiere on HGTV. And if Christina's struggling after last week's announcement that she and her husband, Ant Anstead, have decided to separate, she didn't let it show at work as she chatted with Tarek and various crew members in the sunshine. Christina told fans on Instagram Friday that she and Ant, who married in 2018 and share a 1-year-old son, Hudson, remain "grateful for each other" and intend to make sure their "children remain a priority" as they begin the process of separating. Though she gave no other details, Ant posted last month about missing his son and daughter from a previous relationship, who still live in the UK. At the beginning of August, he shared a video of Christina and said he was taking some time off social media to "pamper the wife," among other things, which suggests the actual split happened in the last couple of weeks. Tarek got engaged to "Selling Sunset" star Heather Rae Young in July.

Did Ellen DeGeneres' season premiere monologue apology work? It may be too soon to tell. On Monday, the talk show host opened the season's first edition of "Ellen" of by apologizing for fostering a toxic work environment on the set of her show (and behind closed doors), following months of allegations of bad behavior on both her part and that of people who manage staff there. She also did her best to cast off claims she puts on a misleading, nice-girl appearance on-camera, telling viewers she is the person "you see on TV." Insiders tell Page Six the vibe at "Ellen" is already "different," that people are "happy" to be back at work and that Ellen herself is "more engaged than ever" with her employees, whom she's repeatedly checked in with via Zoom. Some of her former employees, however, paint a different picture. Speaking to Buzzfeed about the public apology, some people who used to work for Ellen griped about the sarcastic jokes that made their way into her remarks. "Not only did Ellen turn my trauma, turn our traumas, into a joke, she somehow managed to make this about her," said one. Another called out a specific crack Ellen had made on the show. "When she said, 'Oh, my summer was great' and that was supposed to be funny, I thought, 'It's funny that you had a rough summer because everyone was calling out all of the allegations of your toxic work environment and now you're the one suffering?'" said the former employee. Still another took issue with the fact that she'd make any jokes at all, given the seriousness of some of the claims against her and her and the (since fired) producers that were accused of sexual misconduct.

Cardi B and her sister hit with defamation suit by MAGA supporters
Cardi B's spent much of 2020 making her anti-Donald Trump stance known on social media. Now, a group of the president's apparent fans have filed suit against the rapper, her sister, Hennessey Carolina, and Hennessey's girlfriend. According to TMZ, the plaintiffs allege that Hennessey spotted one person in their group wearing a MAGA hat on a beach in the Hamptons this month and was provoked to spit, insult and threaten them. They say that she called them "racist MAGA supporters" and accuse Cardi, Hennessey and the girlfriend of editing the audio from a video of the exchange to unfairly make them sound as if they are, in fact racist. The audio from the video, which Cardi later posted on social media, reportedly featured Hennessey recounting that one person in the group "told her to go back to her country," according to the report. In her post, Cardi told followers her sister and girlfriend were being harassed for being gay and Afro-Hispanic. The plaintiffs, Peter Caliendo, Pauline Caliendo and Manuel Alarcon, are suing for defamation.
Larry King's estranged wife, Shawn King, wants more than $33k a month in spousal support
More than a year after Larry King filed for divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick King, Shawn has filed documents requesting payments of "at least" $33,100 a month in temporary spousal support. TMZ reports that figure would be retroactive as well, dating back to Larry's filing date on Aug. 20, 2019. According to court documents, Shawn is arguing that she ditched her TV and modeling work to stay home and raise the former couple's children many years ago and is now completely dependent on her ex, financially. Shawn, 60 also says Larry, 86, failed to declare all of his income to the court when he claimed to make $1.9 million a year from infomercial work, citing a recent $5 million contract to host "The Millionth Question" podcast. Shawn does cop to the fact she and Larry made a $4 million profit on the January sale of their Beverly Hills, California, home, though it's not clear how that money was split (or spent). Larry, who lost two of his seven children just a few weeks apart earlier this year, shares two children, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20, with Shawn.
Jerry Harris will remain in federal custody for now
"Cheer" star Jerry Harris called in to a telephone hearing in Chicago on Monday, where his attorney requested a delay on the decision about his possible release on bond, the Chicago Tribune reports. Harris, 21, was arrested last week and charged with one count of child pornography related to his exchange of explicit material with underage boys, according to Page Six. His lawyer reportedly plans to argue that Harris should be released on bond because he suffers from asthma, putting him at a greater risk of contracting a COVID-19 in prison. That argument is being delayed as the attorney looks into "a suitable residence and custodian" for the Netflix star. Prosecutors, meanwhile, made the case that the nature of Harris' alleged crimes make him a threat to the community. Harris is accused of soliciting sex, as well as graphic photos and videos from minors he met via cheerleading competitions. For now, he's expected to remain in federal custody, the Tribune reports. If convicted, he could face a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Sharon Osbourne is in quarantine after her granddaughter's COVID-19 diagnosis
You can add the Osbournes to the ever-growing list of stars that have been personally affected by the coronavirus. On Monday's edition of "The Talk," Sharon Osbourne explained that she was appearing from home after Jack Osbourne's 3-year-old daughter, Minnie, was diagnosed with the illness. "I was meant to be in the studio," the 67-year-old explained, according to Us Weekly. "I was so looking forward to it. And then, unfortunately, [Minnie] has come down with COVID." Sharon reported that Minnie is "OK" and that so far, neither her dad nor her mom, Jack's ex, Lisa Stelly, has become sick. The former couple's other children, Pearl, 8, and Andy, 5, are also reportedly virus free. Sharon, who said Minnie caught the disease "from somebody who works for my son," added: "Just goes to show you, she's 3 years of age, that children can get COVID."
Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton set to join 'The West Wing' reunion special
When the cast of 27-time Emmy winning series, "The West Wing" reunites on next month's HBO Max special, they'll be in good company. The network announced Tuesday that former First Lady Michelle Obama and President Bill Clinton will appear in, "A West Wing Special To Benefit When We All Vote" set to premiere Oct. 15, according to the New York Post. The reunion, which will reportedly be the first time the former cast has gotten together in 17 years, is also set to include an appearance by Lin-Manuel Miranda, presumably because of "Hamilton," and a performance by the Avett Brothers. Staged as a reboot of the Season 3 episode "Hartsfield's Landing," the show is expected to film in October to "raise awareness for and support the vital mission of" the nonprofit, When We All Vote, which pushes to increase voter participation.
Drew Barrymore presents a $10k thank-you gift to Oregon fire chief whose home was destroyed
On her new show Monday, Drew Barrymore presented a thank-you gift to Oregon fire chief Christiana Rainbow Plews, who lost her own home while she was fighting the wildfires that continue to ravage her state. The gift was a check for $10,000. "I know it's not enough but just a little start to say that you are an inspiration to us all," Drew told the Upper McKenzie Rural Fire Chief (via Page Six.) "Thank you Chief Rainbow for being the example to us all," she added. Christiana, 50, told Drew that her Blue River, Oregon community has been "completely devastated" by the effects of the Holiday Farm Fire, which she said decimated, "not only all the homes, but all the businesses, including our fire station." Eight volunteer fire fighters also lost their homes, she said. When Drew asked her how she's managed to remain strong through such trying times, she said, "Somebody has to do it. Somebody has to lead and somebody has to help get the healing and rebuilding process started. I am the chief and I am in the position to impact that, so I just have to be strong. I just have to do it for everyone else and hopefully we can all find our way."
Former 'Hills' pals Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port get real about why they're no longer close
In some ways, between the slowed-down pace of life and the explosion of podcasts and Instagram Live series, the coronavirus pandemic has brought people together who normally wouldn't be in touch. Lauren Conrad's recent appearance on her old "Hills" castmate Whitney Port's podcast, "With Whit," is a case in point. The former pals, who met on the show almost 15 years ago, haven't really stayed in touch, largely because Lauren distanced herself from the rest of the cast after the hit show ended. As it turns out, though, her friendship "split" from Whitney had nothing to do with Whitney herself. On the show, after the two agreed they think of one another like "old college friends," Whitney, 35, said she's assumed for years that Lauren's opinion of her changed after Whitney, "had a friend that I had a falling out with that [Lauren] then became best friends with." That wasn't at all the case, explained Lauren, 34. "I have so much love for you and it's one of those things where like, I stopped filming and then I just kinda needed a clean break for a minute to kind of emotionally recover and I took some time off and then obviously moved out of L.A.," she said, according to E! News. Whitney went on to explain she'd often wondered if Lauren fell out of touch because after being involved in something so intense and "personal," she no longer wanted anything to do with anyone related to "the show show that she wants to … move away from.'" That wasn't it, either, Lauren said. "It was such an odd time for me and I did it for as long as I could and it was one of those things where I was like, OK, well, this isn't like a healthy space for me anymore," she explained. "And I apologize for ever making you feel that way, because obviously it had nothing to do with you personally …," she added. "I lived a certain way for so long and, like, as much as I am appreciative and I love you and I love so many people we worked with … there is certain, like, toxic elements there and it gets really hard." Whitney is expected to appear on "The Hills: New Beginnings" again when the reboot's second season returns next year. Lauren opted not to rejoin her former cast.
