Kim Kardashian's Virgin Mary candle causes backlash
Huh. It seems some Christians were not too pleased to discover former sex tape star and current mother of two Kim Kardashian West is now selling "saint candles" starring her "Kimoji" image dressed as the Virgin Mary. Kim unveiled product on Thursday, April 20, along with a slew of marijuana-themed products meant to get a chuckle out of fans in honor of 4/20, also known as "Weed Day." "Disgusting! As a Christian I'm truly offended. If you knew who the Virgin MARY was and represented you would actually be embarrassed," wrote one angry Twitter user (via Us Weekly) after the candle went up for sale on Kimoji.com. Other posts chastised Kim for being "money hungry" and used hashtags like "disrespectful" and "disappointed." Still others allowed Kim props on the intended humor, while pointing out the obvious: "Funny but you are not virgin from anywhere baby." Can't argue with that.

Amy Schumer buys a $2,000 mattress for a total stranger
In which Amy Schumer proves karma is a boomerang. While jogging in Chicago recently, the comic reportedly found herself in desperate need of a bathroom. Ducking into a store, she found herself asking Six Corners Mattress Firm employee Sagine Lazarre if she could use their facilities. People reports Sagine graciously obliged, though she didn't recognize the person in the ladies room. When Amy came out, she thanked Sagine by asking which mattress she liked best — and forking over $2,000 to buy it for her. "It's amazing, mind blowing. I'm still shocked," Lazarre said. "After she left, I Googled her name. The lady that was right there talking to me is Amy Schumer. It was amazing. Unbelievable." Sagine was especially grateful because she was moving into a new apartment with her daughter, according to Chicago's WGN News.

Is Gayle King facing backlash for vacationing with the Obamas?
Gayle King may have crossed a line when she joined her pal Oprah Winfrey on a yacht vacation with the Obamas, Tom Hanks and Bruce Springsteen. An insider at CBS griped to the New York Post that the anchorwoman's trip broke with journalistic protocol. "The 'Capital J' journalists are pissed and raving mad that she was on a yacht with the Obamas over the weekend," said the source. "The old-school people were talking about it. She shouldn't be doing that. She's an anchor of a news program that covers the White House. You're held to a different standard. It's one thing to be friendly. It's another thing to go vacationing on a yacht." As for her "CBS This Morning" co-anchor Charlie Rose? "Charlie wasn't pleased. I thought he and Gayle got along, but when things like this happen, it makes the show look bad," the insider is quoted as saying. A network rep denied rumors of fallout, telling the Post, "There's no truth to any of that. We love Gayle King. Sounds like sour grapes."

Melanie Brown sued by former nanny
Mel B's split from Stephen Belafonte has spawned a new lawsuit. According to TMZ, Mel's former nanny Lorraine Gilles is going after the singer, claiming she lied about Lorraine in court papers related to her divorce. Mel reportedly claimed Stephen and Lorraine revealed to her that they were having an affair, said Lorraine was pregnant and said she had an abortion. Mel also claimed Lorraine stole money from her. Finally, Mel claimed Loraine could leak sex tapes Mel is in, as she has "control over" them. Lorraine is suing for defamation. Previous reports indicated Mel believed Stephen paid Lorraine to have the abortion and compared the woman, telling Mel Lorraine was younger and prettier.
David Burtka is on the wagon
Neil Patrick Harris' husband David Burtka has quit drinking. The 41-year-old, who shares twins Harper and Gideon with NPH, told the New York Daily News this week he's done with booze. "That's a big thing and that's recent," he said. "It just didn't mix well with me anymore. I didn't like the way I was acting and I think it was affecting me and I thought, 'You know what? I owe it to myself. I owe it to my kids, to be there, 100%.'" David explained his decision by saying he's "not one of those people that can just have one drink or two drinks." He also admitted giving up alcohol would be a challenge. "I'm around it all the time and I'm a chef as well, so it's really part of my world," he said.

Olivia de Havilland won't discuss 'Feud' or the 1963 Oscars
Maybe it was inevitable that after Ryan Murphy made a hit show about feuding women and the gossip writers who loved their drama, some entertainment magazine would try to find out just how bad things were between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. The Hollywood Reporter recently emailed Olivia de Havilland, who appears on "Feud" via Catherine Zeta Jones, but was not consulted about the show. According to Celebitchy, THR tried to get to the bottom of the whole 1963 Oscars mess depicted on the show as well as the historical accuracy of the plot. "I have received your email with its two questions," she replied (via Celebitchy). "I would like to reply first to the second of these, which inquires of me the accuracy of a current television series entitled Feud, which concerns Bette Davis and Joan Crawford and their supposed animosity toward each other. Having not seen the show, I cannot make a valid comment about it. However, in principle, I am opposed to any representation of personages who are no longer alive to judge the accuracy of any incident depicted as involving themselves. […] As to the 1963 Oscar ceremony, which took place over half a century ago, I regret to say that I have no memory of it whatsoever and therefore cannot vouch for its accuracy."
Alec Baldwin art fraud case gets trial
Alec Baldwin's fraud case against fraud case against art dealer Mary Boone will proceed to trial. After Alec's attorney told a judge the actor was duped with the sale of a $190,000 Ross Bleckner, the court gave him a green light. The New York Post reports Alec's lawyer portrayed his clientas a "non-collector" who was sold a copy of the 1996 painting the Sea and the Mirror by "one of the most prominent art dealers in the world." The defendant, meanwhile, maintained Baldwin, once named a top celebrity art collector by Architectural Digest, is a "sophisticated collector" who basically should have known better.
Jay Z is reportedly looking for new investors in Roc Nation
Jay Z could be vying for a bigger investment in Roc Nation from Universal Music Group. New York Post sources say Jay recently met with UMG's CEO, a move that suggested he could be trying to get some support for his Tidal streaming service, especially with his $150 million deal with Live Nation ending soon. "Jay's 360 deal with Live Nation is not being extended. Live Nation had bought into the artists' rights and recorded music, but they are not extending any of those relationships. Live Nation is not in the business of buying recorded music any more," said a insider, adding that the company will likely stay on to support Jay's touring.
