Jessie J responds to questions about Channing Tatum on British talk show
Channing Tatum and singer Jessie J have reportedly been dating since last year, but they seem determined to keep the details of their romance out of the public eye. Jessie's recent appearance on British TV program "Lorraine" pegged to her return to "The Voice" was case in point. Asked directly about her relationship with Channing on Monday, June 3, the British pop star would say only, "No comment," according to JustJared. "But you're in love? You're happy?" the interviewer pressed. "I am just very content with my life," Jessie replied. "Everyone deserves happiness." She's been less coy about Channing on social media, sharing flirty messages and showing her beau lots of support for his work. The "Magic Mike" star has been similarly open about his love for her on social media, but has not spoken openly about their relationship in interviews.
Forbes decalres Jay-Z the first billionaire in hip-hop
For the first time ever, hip-hop has its own billionaire. A new feature from Forbes takes a look inside the empire Jay-Z's built over the course of the career, deeming him to be a billionaire even by conservative estimates. Citing the multi-million dollar value of each of his various ventures — from Tidal ($100 million) and Roc Nation ($75 million) to his music catalogue ($75), real estate holdings ($50 million) and stake in Armand de Brignac champagne ($310 million), Forbes posits that a key reason for his success is that "he realized he should build his own brands rather than promote someone else's." Asked to comment on the larger implications of Jay's billionaire status, Swizz Beatz, who's produced a slew of Jay's biggest hits, tells Forbes: "It's bigger than hip-hop … it's the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us," adding, "If he's a billionaire now, imagine what he's about to be. Because he's only just starting."
Kim Kardashian West says North is 'so nice to' her brother, Saint … finally
North West has finally had a change of heart when it comes to her little brother, Saint. Just last fall, Kim Kardashian West told People her eldest child wanted nothing to do with her younger siblings — especially Saint — and had taken to acting "like an only child at all times" and openly disliked her brother. But new videos Kim posted from Kanye West's Sunday Service over the weekend show the 5-year-old's starting to embrace her big sister role. In the clip, North leans down to help her little brother as he sings "Nothing Compares to U" with the choir "This was Saints first time so North made sure he knew the words," Kim wrote on the clip (via ET). "She is so nice to Saint now lol." Whether she'll eventually warm up to her new, youngest brother, Pslam, remains to be seen. A source told ET after Psalm's birth last month, "He's such an incredibly great baby, and so far, it's been an easy addition to the family," adding that "the kids instantly fell in love with him," and while "North will always be the one in charge," she, too, " loves her little brother."
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan support Pride month, look toward 'a more inclusive future'
"Love is love." That's how Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan explained their support of Pride Month and the LGBQT+ community in a new Instagram post the couple shared over the weekend as Pride kicked off in the U.S. and U.K. "Continuing with our tradition to rotate the accounts we follow based on causes and social issues that matter to us," the post began. "For the month of June we 'proudly' shine a light on PRIDE. This month we pay tribute to the accounts supporting the LGBTQ+ community – those young and old, their families and friends, accounts that reflect on the past and are hopeful for a deservedly more inclusive future. We stand with you and support you 🌈 Because it's very simple: love is love." They went on to explain that the photos in the collage represent the new organizations they're following — including the Trevor Project, Stonewall UK and SAGE as well as Ruben Guadalupe Marquez, a Sam Francisco-based artists known for his work juxtaposing images of queer pop icons with religious imagery. As the royal couple and new parents announced in May (via People), they're only following on Instagram groups that "promote mental well-being, mental fitness, body positivity, self-care, and the importance of human connection,"
Cardi B shows off new piercings on her throat, lip
By most accounts, Cardi B's guest-packed performance at the Hot 97 Summer Jam music festival in New Jersey on Sunday, June 2, was the highlight of the annual event. It was also the first time Cardi showed off her new neck piercing, which she accessorized with a silver stud to match the silver jewelry on the horizontal lip piercings she got back in February at City of Angels tattoo shop in Los Angeles. According to the Daily Mail, the unusual piercing can be done "on any flat surface on the body" and is held on with an "anchor shaped clasp fixed beneath the skin." Ouch. In addition to the lip and throat piercings, Cardi has a nose ring, earrings and a piercing on the back of her neck.
Jessica Alba, Haven Warren, Honor Warren, Cash Warren, and Hayes Warren
As a mother of three, Jessica Alba's had plenty of practice in the motherhood realm. But from her perspective, there's always room for improvement. Speaking to an audience made up primarily of college-aged women at Her Campus Media's annual Her Conference on Saturday, June 1, the actress and Honest Company founder explained that she and her 10-year-old daughter, Haven, go to therapy together so Jessica can, as she put it (via THR), "learn to be a better mother to her and communicate better with her." It was a decision she made in part because she never had the opportunity to do something like that with her own mom. "Some people think, like in my family, you talk to a priest and that's it. I don't really feel comfortable talking to him about my feelings,"she explained. "I didn't grow up in an environment where you talked about this stuff, and it was just like shut it down and keep it moving … So I find a lot of inspiration just in talking to my kids." Jessica, who also shares Haven and Hayes Warren with her husband, Cash Warren, also delved into ways she's tried to make motherhood a little bit easier in the workplace for Honest Company employee moms, as well. She said she gives women at her company four months of maternity leave (new dads get two months of paternity leave), a flexible work schedule upon their return to the office and what she called a "dignified" way to pump milk while at work for those who need it.
Priyanka Chopra responds to criticism about over-sharing about her wedding
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' multi-day wedding in India was one of the most talked-about weddings in Hollywood over the past year. For some, the buzz coming from the couple themselves was too much to bear. As Priyanka reveals in the latest edition of the Sunday Times, she was heavily criticized for sharing what some social media users thought was major wedding overkill – and she doesn't think that criticism was fair. "If I wasn't a famous person and I'd just got married, don't you think my Insta would have photos of me and my husband?" she asked. "Just because I'm famous, don't I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I'm using my marriage? I gave up my right to privacy when I became a public person, it's the deal you make with the devil. But trust me, there are lots of things I still keep personal."
