Lizzo has a PSA for 'fat-shamers': 'I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job'
Lizzo's body-shamer takedowns are always on point, and her latest is no exception — especially since she shared it on TikTok, the same platform that recently restored one of the singer's swimsuit videos after she accused the app of sizeist censorship. "If you're not a fat shamer, keep scrolling … OK now that all the fat shamers are here," the 32-year-old captioned a post on Tuesday (via Women's Health). The accompanying video was a montage of the Lizzo engaged in various workout routines. In the narration, she addresses viewers in a clear, confident and calm tone over images of her spinning on a bike, jumping rope and lifting weights. "Hey, so I've been working out consistently for the last five years. It may come as a surprise to some of y'all that I'm not working out to have your ideal body type," she says in the clip. "I'm working out to have my ideal body type. And you know what type that is?" Lizzo pauses for a beat, then continues, speaking the next bit out ever so clearly: "None of your f—— business. Because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job." She continues: "So next time you want to come to somebody and judge them, whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald's or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own f—— self and your own … body? Because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside. Health is also what happens on the inside. And a lot of y'all need to do a … cleanse for your insides." Lizzo lets that sink in as the workout video comes to a close, then signs off with, "Namaste, have a great day."

Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum, Ne-Yo attend George Floyd's funeral in Houston
Former costars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx were among the 500 mourners who attended George Floyd's funeral in Houston on Tuesday, according to People. Dressed in white collared shirts and masks, the actors both looked solemn as they listened to family members memorialize their loved one, an unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis on May 25 after a white police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd's death sparked worldwide protests against police brutality and racism and those messages reverberated in the words of speakers at the home-going service, the final event in a three-city "tour" that began in Minneapolis and continued on to Raeford, N.C., near Floyd's birthplace before wrapping up in Houston, where Floyd was raised. Ne-Yo also attended the service and performed an emotional rendition of Boyz To Men's "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday." Both Foxx and Tatum have been vocal during the past two weeks of demonstrations, with Foxx attending and speaking at protests and posting both personal experiences and political demands related to Floyd's death. Tatum recently shared a long list of everyday activities he's privileged to be able to engage in without fear of being killed, alongside the names of black Americans who were slain in recent years while doing the same things.

Ariana Grande plunks down $13.7M for Hollywood Hills home
What recession? The Los Angeles Times reported this week that Ariana Grande, 26, recently closed on a $13.7 million deal for a new home in the Bird Streets region of Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills. The three-story, four bedroom, seven-bath pad features canyon-to-ocean views in every room, fitness and wellness centers, infinity pool and 16-foot ceilings on the "entertainment level," which is offset by a 300-bottle wine cellar, according to the Times. The paper also points out that the singer got a good deal on the off-market sale, possibly because because she had some guidance from her new(ish) boyfriend, high-end realtor Dalton Gomez. The home reportedly went on the market two years ago for more than $25 million.

Spike Lee thinks 'we need better terminology' than 'defund the police'
Earlier this week, Meghan McCain had an awkward exchange with Sen. Kamala Harris in which it seemed like "The View" co-host was confused about the meaning of recent calls to "defund the police." On Tuesday, Spike Lee addressed that confusion on Sirius' "Off the Rails" show, explaining that the demand is about change, reform and funneling budgets toward other services — not existing in a country with no public safety net. "… We need police, but we need a police system that is just," he said (via JustJared). "And it's so hard with the police unions. I mean they protect their guys, they protect that blue no matter what. And so that has to be dealt with …" He said the ease with which protests can be misinterpreted by Donald Trump and others should also be taken into consideration. "I don't think people are saying we don't need police at all," he explained, "but 'defund the police' – I think there [could] be better terminology."
Caitlyn Jenner reflects on her changing thoughts about politics
Five years ago this month, Caitlyn Jenner appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair to announce she'd transitioned. Looking back as the U.S. celebrates Pride month, she tells People she has "no regrets." But some of her opinions and ideas have changed, including when it comes to politics. A lifelong Republican and former Donald Trump fan, Caitlyn says she's "changed my thinking in a lot of ways," and now is "economically conservative, socially progressive," rather than being strictly conservative. She also believes "we need equality for all, regardless of who's in the White House," and wants to keep pushing for more acceptance of the trans community. "I truly want to help," she says. As part of that effort, the reality star has been working to provide scholarships for college to trans students. "This is my journey. Yes, it is different than other trans people. I get it," she admits. "But the bottom line is this: When I wake up in the morning, I'm happy with myself."
Iggy Azalea announces she has a son
Surprise! Iggy Azalea just revealed she's a mom. Addressing fans and followers on her Instagram Story Wednesday, the 30-year-old rapper, who never went public with a pregnancy, announced, point blank, "I have a son." She said she delayed making an announcement initially because she was nervous about it — until it became clear that anxiety wasn't going to change. "I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I'm always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world," she said. "I want to keep his life private," she continued, "but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words." Iggy has been dating Playboi Carti since 2018, according to Page Six.
Antonio Banderas opens up about staying close friends with ex-wife Melanie Griffith
Five years after their divorce, Antonio Banderas has nothing but love for his ex, Melanie Griffith. The "Pain and Glory" star opened up about his close friendship with Melanie during a recent appearance on Univision's "El Break de las 7," according to the Daily Mail. Telling the outlet he thinks both he and Melanie "are both reluctant to bury 20 years of marriage," Antonio explained, "We are human beings, we make mistakes and that is the human condition." He also shared some advice on how friendship works best with an ex. "You have to leave the egos aside and not want to prove that you are right or find who's guilty of what," he said. "Because it may be both or neither of you. There is a moment when things are over and you have to accept it." Although the marriage didn't last, Antonio looks to the former couple's daughter Stella as a "beautiful" "end result" of their time together. "We had 20 wonderful years during which we gave our best and lived wonderful moments that I will not forget," he said. "We had a wonderful daughter that we both love and that is the end result of our relationship, the most beautiful thing we have ever done together. And even though we are separated legally, she is still my family." Antonio said he remains close with Melanie's children from previous relationships, Dakota and Alexander, as well. He's reportedly been dating Nicole Kimpel for most of the past five years.
Eddie Redmayne weighs in on J.K. Rowling's anti-trans statements
Eddie Redmayne has joined a number of his "Harry Potter" franchise costars in responding to tweets J.K. Rowling recently posted about transgender people. The posts included a share of an article about "people who menstruate," which the author followed up with, "I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" She later tweeted about why "erasing the concept of sex" is dangerous. Finally, she wrote that she respects "every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable," but said her "life has been shaped by being female" and she does "not believe it's hateful to say so." In a new statement issued to Variety, Redmayne criticized Rowling for joining in a chorus of voice that refuse to accept trans people. "Respect for transgender people remains a cultural imperative, and over the years I have been trying to constantly educate myself. This is an ongoing process," the actor began. "As someone who has worked with both J.K. Rowling and members of the trans community, I wanted to make it absolutely clear where I stand. I disagree with Jo's comments. Trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid." Noting that he wouldn't presume to "speak on behalf of the community," he said his "dear transgender friends and colleagues are tired of this constant questioning of their identities, which all too often results in violence and abuse," adding, "They simply want to live their lives peacefully, and it's time to let them do so."
Oprah Winfrey, guests talk police, race and the state of the nation at town hall event
Oprah Winfrey kicked off her two-part, "Where Do We Go From Here" town hall on Tuesday with conversations about the state of the nation featuring director Ava DuVernay, "Selma" star David Oyelowo and black other activists, artists and politicians. "I've been having private conversations with friends and thought leaders about what's next and where we go from here," Winfrey explained in a statement to Discovery, which is making the special available on all of its networks. "I thought it would be both of interest and service to bring their ideas, concerns and comments into a national spotlight." During Part One, DuVernay discussed the problems with press "conflating" protestors and looters while covering the demonstrations that have followed George Floyd's killing, pointing out that she's found herself watching as "concern with the murder of Black people by police" is "deterred because someone is taking a pair of jeans from a Target" on the news, according to Variety. Oyelowo, meanwhile, spoke candidly about his decision to share a video showing his talk with his son about how to deal with police safely as a black person. "I posted (the video) because I had made the mistake of thinking that things would be different for my son," he explained. "I say mistake because I had watched things progress in some ways, and then the knee on the neck is so symbolic of so much. It's something I didn't realize that I had internalized in a way that makes it difficult for me to function. I didn't realize how deep the wounds were." The special continues Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
Chyler Leigh comes out as a member of the LGBQT+ community
"Supergirl" star Chyler Leigh recently came out as a member of the LGBQT+ community in an essay for the Create Change website. The actress, 38, plays Alex Danvers, who comes out as gay in the show's second season. As Chyler explained to readers, the scripted scene where Alex comes out ended up serving as an "opportunity" for Chyler "to get those honest words out" about her own sexuality. "When I was told that my character was to come out in season 2, a flurry of thoughts and emotions flew through and around me because of the responsibility I personally felt to authentically represent Alex's journey," she writes. "What I didn't realize was how the scene where she finally confessed her truth would leap off the pages of the script and genuinely become a variation of my own. IRL. My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest each take we filmed, every time presenting another opportunity to get those honest words out of my mouth. Though they don't exactly match my personal dialogue, the heart behind it surely did." She goes on to recall how her performance in the scene was praised for seeming so "realistic." "And to steal from Alex's words, that's because there's some truth to what she said about me," Chyler wrote. She went on to detail how even having her character come out on TV resulted in the loss of some friends. "I don't hold a grudge towards the negative response, because as I said, we all have had a hard time in one way or another with acceptance (whatever the subject may be) whether towards ourselves or others," she continued. Chyler added: "It's been a long and lonely road for both my husband and myself but I can wholeheartedly say that after all these years, he and I are still discovering the depths of ourselves and each other, but throughout our journey we've learned to be proud of who we are, no matter the cost."
