Lori Loughlin is struggling as she faces jail time: report

Lori Loughlin is reportedly "breaking down" over the prospect she could go to prison. "She truly feels at her very worst," a source told ET this week after a judge signed off on the not guilty pleas she and her husband entered regarding new bribery charges in their college admissions scandal. "People are coming out in support of her lately but she is afraid to open up. She's concerned if she talks to the wrong people that her opinions will get out and somehow affect the case." says ET's source. The update comes after a potential arraignment for Lori and Mossimo Giannulli on Wednesday, Nov. 20, was canceled by the judge's sign-off on the couple's claims they are not culpable for "a conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery," according to Page Six. The new charges are in addition to the fraud and money laundering charges in which the two previously pleaded not guilty. The bribery charge was added by prosecutors to 11 parents who pleaded not guilty when they were accused of cheating to get their kids into college. Prosecutors claim the former "Fuller House" star and designer paid $500,000 to get their daughters into USC as rowing recruits despite their never having participated in the sport. Felicity Huffman was among the parents who pleaded guilty from the outset. She has already completed her short jail sentence and is now working her way through her mandated community service hours. Lori, meanwhile, is struggling, according to ET, whose source adds that, "Those closest to her are devastated because she has been a good person to them and know she could be facing jail time because of very poor judgment. Her friends are supporting her and keep reminding her if she does time behind bars she will get through this." Those positive character assessments could come in handy, too. Newsweek recently quoted a legal expert who believes Lori and Mossimo's whole case could come down to "how the picture is painted and how the jury sees them." The lawyer added: "Jurors are going to have to give this person, who submitted pictures and paid $500,000 the benefit of the doubt that she didn't understand it would guarantee her daughters' admission."

"It's important for us to do the work before we go and take this really big next step," Katy told Us in July when asked about the wedding. In recent weeks, Brad Pitt has been spending time with a new female friend — and a source close to the "Ad Astra" star has already assured People that's the extent of their relationship. "Had the pleasure to introduce my great artist friend Martin Werthmann to Brad (please check out his work). Had a very interesting conversation with Brad. Like [his] positive attitude," she added. According to People, Brad and Alia had dinner together as well that day and caught the same Mike Birbiglia comedy show last month. Brad has reportedly been dating "very casually" since his split from Angelina Jolie, opting to focus on spending time with his kids instead. A source close to the star says he and Alia are "absolutely just friends."

2020 Grammy nominations: Apparent snubs and other surprises, explained

As is the case most years, the new round of Grammy nominees features plenty of snubs and surprised. A closer look at the 2020 nominations courtesy of ET, however, sheds some light on a few of the more confusing points from the Wednesday, Nov. 20, announcement. Lizzo rightly dominated the nominations this morning, leading the pack with eight noms, including for Record and Song of the Year for "Truth Hurts," which technically came out two years ago. According to ET, the tune was eligible this year in spite ofhaving been released as a single in 2017 because it appears on "Cuz I Love You," which Lizzo released in April of this year. Another point of confusion among social media users was Selena Gomez seemingly being shut out for her new music, "Lose You To Love Me" and "Look at Her Now." She was not. It turns out the Recording Academy changed the eligibility dates this year from music released Oct. 1, 2018, through Aug. 31, 2019, except for the Best New Artist category, which got a little more flexibility. As for Taylor Swift's new album, "Lover," which didn't get any love in the Album of the Year category despite being a huge commercial and critical success? That one might be a straight snub — one that's probably informed, to an extent, by the growing divisions between Taylor's fans and haters within the ranks of Grammy voters.

Kanye West's Joel Osteen collaboration touted as among the 'biggest faith-fueled events in recent history'

Between the long lines that delayed Kanye West's Sunday Service at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church over the weekend and reports the megachurch was trying to 'avoid pandemonium' due to the surge of interest, it's no surprise Kanye's Houston event drew millions of viewers online. The actual numbers, however, are pretty staggering, even when you take into account the rapper's collaboration with one of the country's most popular televangelists. TMZ reports the Sunday, Nov. 17, service drew 4.17 million unique viewers. Osteen, meanwhile, generally snags between 700,000 and 1.3 million views, according to the website, which cites insiders "in Christian circles" who are calling it "one of the biggest faith-fueled events in recent history." TMZ's sources aren't the only ones hurling superlatives around in relation to Kanye, either. During the rapper's address at the church, he proclaimed that the "victory" of Jesus is directly related to — you guessed it — Kanye, himself, telling the crowd (via ET): "Jesus has won the victory because now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him." As he explained to Seth Meyers on "Late Night" this week, the tiny fishing village where they shot the movie had very little going on — except for an apparent penchant for yapping about the town's X-rated product purveyors online. "There were two pretty highly-frequented sex shops … which I was — someone was telling me about," Rob told Seth (via E! News). "I went before the show," he continued. "I tried to kind of find [them] — 'cause I'd sort of pass the time by looking at Yelp reviews and so many people used to write these Yelp reviews. And this is a town of maybe 400 people — well, maybe a little more than 400," he noted. "But I could meet these people in the local shop if I wanted to." Alas, it seems Rob failed to make many new friends in the fishing village sex shops (at least during this visit). And he may not have been the only person involved with the film who figured out how fascinating the Yelp reviews were. Because as he told Seth, when he tried to go back to the reviews so he'd have something to share during his "Late Night" segment, they were gone. "They've all been taken down. And there's just a few people who have just checked in on Facebook," Rob said, joking, "What's up, Annabelle W.?!"

Brandi Glanville confirms she'll return to 'RHOBH'

Add Brandi Glanville to the list of "Real Housewives" returning to their on-camera Beverly Hills haunts when Season 10 kicks off next year. The reality star announced on her Unfiltered podcast this week that she'll "be back a little bit," though she cautioned "that is all we know right now," according to The Blast. The vague news is kind of par for the course. Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date for the new season — Us Weekly reported in early November that the series would return in "early 2020." And while Brandi happily chatted about how tense things will be between the castmembers next season, she gave few examples other than assuring fans her drama with Camille Grammer remains very much intact. Bravo has confirmed Lisa Rinna, Kyle Richards, Denise Richards, Teddi Mellencamp, Dorit Kemsley and Erika Jayne will all return to the show, along with featured newbies Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke. Lisa Vanderpump will not be returning, according to Us.

Studio exec wanted Julia Roberts to play Harriet Tubman

Looks like Hollywood still has some work to do in the understanding diversity department. In a new Q&A for Focus Features (via Page Six), screenwriter Gregory Allen Howard revealed a studio exec initially wanted to see Julia Roberts in the lead of "Harriet," which tells the story of Harriet Tubman, a black woman born into slavery who went on to escape and lead nearly 100 slaves to freedom. "I was told how one studio head said in a meeting, 'This script is fantastic. Let's get Julia Roberts to play Harriet Tubman,'" Gregory said during the Q&A. "When someone pointed out that Roberts couldn't be Harriet, the executive responded, 'It was so long ago. No one is going to know the difference.'" He added that it took more than 25 years to get the film made, after he started working on it back in 1994.

Jussie Smollett is suing the city of Chicago

Jussie Smollett has filed suit against the city of Chicago. TMZ reports the former "Empire" star is going after the Windy City because he says its officials made it look as if he invented a story about being attacked there. He maintains he was attacked, that he did not invent the whole thing, and that the main attacker was a white male. A lawyer for the Osundairo brothers, who were previously implicated, told the outlet: "This is just another sad attempt by Jussie Smollett to try and falsely smear the Osundario brothers, the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department. There is no legal merit to his claims, and could be sanctionable."
