Meghan Markle's first wedding dress design options are in
"Whimsical or subtly romantic." That's how Meghan Markle described her ideal wedding dress in an interview with Glamour in 2016. It turns out both adjectives suit the designs submitted to the royal family by Inbal Dror for Meghan and Prince Harry's May ceremony. According to TMZ, the Israeli designer, who has dressed the likes of Beyonce and Naomi Watts, confirmed this week that reps for the palace contacted her for sketches. The ideas she turned include body-hugging looks that sweep the floor with a long, lacy or ruffled train and a Victorian-style top with a high neck and shoulders puffed upwards with a small amount of height. Two different tops provide options that either showcase the decolletage, likely through sheer fabric, or create a more structured, almost suit-like "V" from the neck towards the midriff. The sleeves in each of the three sketches TMZ obtained are long, per the tradition of royal brides, according to the website. At the hands, more whispy material similar to what's pictured on the train sweep down, adding to the gown's overall romance. Meghan's soon-to-be sister-in-law Duchess Kate wore Alexander McQueen when she married Prince William. That dress was reportedly worth nearly $500,000 and while Inbal's dresses normally sell for $8,000 to $10,000, TMZ reminds us it's likely a royal wedding gown would be a different situation.

Insiders say Harvey Weinstein tried to get $25M 'financial lifeline' from Netflix ahead of scandal
Did Harvey Weinstein try to squeeze $25 million out of Netflix ahead of the New York Times' and New Yorker's stories about his sexual misconduct? Sources tell the New York Post the former media mogul was looking for "emergency cash" that he may have planned to use as "hush money" before the first wave of stories about him broke earlier this year. Other sources say he hoped he could get $25 million by selling the rights to some of his films. "Clearly Harvey didn't go to Netflix saying he needed 'hush money.' He put it into a business context, saying he was looking to sell the rights to parts of his catalog. But they were wise to decline," said a source. Another insider claimed he approached "different companies" looking for money ahead of the news. His reps, meanwhile, called the claims"untrue" and "utter nonsense," while Netflix declined to comment. Harvey, who has reportedly been in treatment for sex addiction in Arizona since the scandals broke, has been accused of spending a large amount of money in attempts to "discredit his accusers," according to the Post. Rose McGowan, who has been among the most vocal of the former producer's accusers, reportedly reached a six-figure settlement with Harvey after she accused him of sexually assaulting her. She was 23 at the time.
Justin Bieber's copyright infringement case to be dismissed
Another one bites the dust. Justin Bieber's gotten pretty good at knocking lawsuits out of his way over the years, having faced legal action from photographers, neighbors and, in a more recent case, another singer. TMZ reports Justin is now off the hook in a copyright infringement case filed in 2016 by singer Casey Daniel, who performs under the name White Hinterland. Casey's suit claimed Justin's hit "Sorry" included "unique characteristics of the female vocal riff" from her 2014 song "Ring the Bell." At the time, Skrillex, who worked on the track with Justin, tweeted out a video that seemed to show the demo songwriter Julia Michaels recorded being manipulated to make the foundation of the riff. According to Rolling Stone, the tweet appeared to prove Casey's song had not been sampled, despite the similarities. According to TMZ, Casey has filed to dismiss the suit.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers makes a rare red carpet appearance with his wife and son
Three months after he returned to rehab for help with his alcohol addiction, Jonathan Rhys Meyers made a rare red carpet appearance on Monday, Dec. 18, with his wife Mara Lane and their son Wolf. The family outing took place at a premiere for "12th Man," which chronicles the story of a World War II Norwegian resistance hero named Jan Baalsrud, the sole survivor in a group of 12 would-be saboteurs, in Fredrikstad, Norway. The "Tudors" star has been lying low since he returned to a treatment program for help after he was photographed, apparently drunk, with a police officer at an airport in Dublin. In an Instagram post, Jonathan's wife explained that he'd been struggling with alcohol again in the wake of her miscarriage. "Depression is a real concern from past abuse as well as alcoholism which he was born with," she wrote in a post that also assured fans the actor was "safe and with his sober living companion" while waiting to get into a treatment center "closer to home." "He has been able to turn any ugliness and hurt in his life into art and is the strongest person I know," Mara wrote. "I do not know anyone who has been through what he has been through and reached his level of successes. It does seem though that every time we seem to be making so much progress ā¦ sometimes it's like two steps forward, one step back." The new film hits theaters on Christmas Day.

Eminem talks women, Donald Trump and dating
Eminem is back in the news thanks to his new album, "Revival," and as the title suggests, the controversial rapper is indeed reviving some of the conflicts that appeared in his previous music. Although much of the album is about his desire to see Donald Trump go down, the rapper's seeming issues with women and violence appear, too. In a new interview with Vulture, Em talks about both, saying some of the offensive lyrics about women are like those "Truly Tasteless Jokes" books he read and laughed at as a kid. he's more serious, he says, about the president. "He makes my blood boil. I can't even watch the news anymore because it makes me too stressed out," says Eminem, who says he hopes the president is impeached next year. "All jokes aside, all punch lines aside, I'm trying to get a message out there about him. I want our country to be great too, I want it to be the best it can be, but it's not going to be that with him in charge. ā¦ What he's doing putting people against each other is scary fāā sā." On the topic of women, Vulture asks Eminem if he dates. "It's tough. Since my divorce I've had a few dates and nothing's panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public. Dating's just not where I'm at lately," he says. Asked where he meets women, he acknowledges he's used Tinder. "And Grindr. I also used to go to strip clubs," he adds. When the reporter jokes, I think a lot of long-term relationships start in strip clubs," Em replies, "What can I say? Going to strip clubs is how I was meeting some chicks. It was an interesting time for me."
Mark Salling pleads guilty to possession of child pornography
Mark Salling has a few more months of freedom before his March 7 sentencing on child pornography charges. The former "Glee" actor pled guilty in on Monday, Dec. 18, to possessing approximately 25,000 images of children engaged in sexual activities, the Wrap reports. The actor had already settled on a plea deal in which he admitted he downloaded the internet images in 2015 and attempted to hide what he'd done. The agreement reportedly included an acknowledgement that a four to seven-year prison term would be a fair sentence rather than the 20-year maximum sentence. When Mark gets out of prison he'll face a 20-year supervised release; the court will also mandate that he registers as a sex offender, according to the Wrap.
