Baby time

Richard Gere is a dad again at age 69. The actor and third wife Alejandra Silva, who turns 36 this weekend, have just welcomed their first child together, according to HOLA! magazine. The baby was apparently born in New York in early February. Richard and Alejandra each have one child from previous relationships. The couple confirmed their pregnancy news in September when Alejandra, a Spanish businesswoman and activist, shared a photo on social media of the Dalai Lama blessing their unborn child in her womb.

Food fight

Miranda Lambert had some real beef with a fellow diner at a Nashville steakhouse on Feb. 12. TMZ reported that the singer dumped a salad onto a woman during an argument. According to the report, Miranda was dining with her mom and a family friend at the Stoney River Steakhouse when an older man started the fight. The man, it seems, got into it with the friend. Miranda then got involved and turned over the salad onto the man's wife's lap.

Ex-cellent birthday

Jennifer Aniston's birthday brought out her exes! The actress, who turned 50 on Feb. 11, celebrated her birthday with a huge bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood a few days earlier. The guests were a who's who of Hollywood and included her ex-husband Brad Pitt (her ex-boyfriend John Mayer was also there, as was Brad's ex-fiancée Gwyneth Paltrow). "Brad wanted to support and celebrate Jen by attending her birthday party," a source told Us Weekly, which further reported that the stars, who divorced in 2005 as Brad moved on with Angelina Jolie, have been friendly since 2016. "Brad contacted Jen after her mom died [in 2016], and she was touched that he knew what a difficult time it was," the source explained. Then, on Jen's actual birthday, her other ex-husband — Justin Theroux — honored her by sharing a photo of Jen holding a pair of horns over her head. "Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman," he wrote. "Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind. ….and fiercely funny. [love] you B."

Engaged

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are getting hitched. The singer announced on Instagram on Valentine's Day that she and the actor are engaged, posting a close-up photo of the duo revealing her flower-shaped ring featuring a pink center stone surrounded by diamonds. "Full bloom," she captioned the snap. Orlando shared the same image, captioning the photo, "Lifetimes." Katy's mom temporarily shared a photo from the couple's engagement party to her Facebook page, writing, "Look who got engaged on Valentine's Day!!" She later took the pic down. Katy and Orlando first began dating in early 2016. They split after a year but reconciled in early 2018.

Incriminating tape?

R. Kelly is in hot water again, this time after a never-before-seen sex tape surfaced allegedly showing him engaging in multiple sex acts with a girl purported to be 14 years old. CNN, which has seen the tape, says the girl refers to her body parts as "14 years old." Attorney Michael Avenatti, who possesses the tape, gave it to prosecutors. It's not publicly known when the tape was made but Michael says it's within the statute of limitations. CNN reports that the 45-minute video shows the girl urinating at R. Kelly's request. A senior law-enforcement official told The New Yorker that an indictment is pending and an arrest could follow.

More developments

Jussie Smollett is adamant that he was attacked late last month in Chicago, and he's not only angry at his attackers but is "pissed off" at people who are questioning his story. The "Empire" star gave his first interview since the Jan. 29 crime telling "Good Morning America" the incident occurred when two men hurled racial and homophobic insults at him as he walked home. According to Jussie, he fought back when one man punched him and they "tussled." He said a second attacker kicked him in his back. As for why he wouldn't give up his phone to authorities — he's claimed he was talking to his manager when the attack occurred — he said, "They wanted me to give my phone to the tech for three to four hours. I'm sorry but — I'm not gonna do that. Because I have private pictures and videos and numbers: my partner's number, my family's number, my castmates' number[s], my friends' numbers, my private emails, my private songs, my private voice memos." In a new twist, police on Feb. 13 detained and questioned two men. Reports indicate at least one of the men, whom cops picked up at the airport as they returned from a trip to Nigeria, once appeared on "Empire" and knew Jussie. Then, late on Feb. 14, CBS News Chicago reported that police raided the men's home, where they took five bottles of bleach, a red hat, two laptops and other items (Jussie, you'll remember, said the men poured bleach on him and shouted a comment about "MAGA country"). The men's attorney has spoken out on their behalf. "When they first learned about what happened to him they were horrified. This is someone they know. This is someone they've worked with, so they don't want to see somebody go through that," she told CBS News' Chicago station. On Feb. 15, the men — Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo — were arrested for battery and police now list them as "potential suspects."

Hospitalized

Liam Hemsworth wasn't able to support his wife, Miley Cyrus, at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 or attend the premiere of his new film, "Isn't It Romantic," the following night because he was in the hospital recovering from a sudden illness. A source told Us Weekly that Liam "canceled his junket interviews Sunday because he was suffering from kidney stones." Miley attended Liam's premiere in his stead. "So proud of my hunky hubby @liamhemsworth & his newest movie #IsntItRomantic," Miley wrote on Instagram afterward. "He unfortunately wasn't able to attend due to health reasons… but he is recovering and taking this time to rest / heal. It's hard for entertainers to put themselves before the project but this time it was crucial …. I am proud to represent him and his incredible work. So happy to see him shining in this comedy! He is the funniest person I know , and the world now gets to see the Liam I wake up to every day…. luckiest."

Touched… in a bad way

"The Bachelor" star Colton Underwood claims a fan touched him "inappropriately" at a charity event for his Legacy Foundation in San Diego this week. Because of that, he left the event early. Colton took to his Instagram Story to voice his frustration on Feb. 14. "I'm sorry if you didn't get a picture at the event last night, but at one point during the event I was grabbed and touched inappropriately while people were throwing cameras in my face," he said. "I am the type of person who would have stood in line for hours to make sure anyone who supported the event got a picture, but once that happened, I had to do what was best for me as a human being. I didn't sign up to be a piece of meat or a zoo animal."

Scathing report

A scathing expose about singer-songwriter Ryan Adams published in The New York Times on Feb. 13 claims he promised women career opportunities, had sex with them and later withdrew his support. Ryan's ex-wife, singer and "This Is Us" actress Mandy Moore, also spoke to the NYT and didn't sugarcoat her own claims, which include that he was emotionally abusive and controlling during their seven-year marriage. "He would always tell me, 'You're not a real musician, because you don't play an instrument,'" she said. "His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time — my entire mid-to-late 20s." In response, Ryan lawyer said Mandy's recollection is "completely inconsistent with [Ryan's] view of the relationship." Several others including a woman who was 14 when she and Ryan started communicating said the music star was manipulative. He allegedly sent graphic and sexual messages to women too. "If people knew they would say I was like R Kelley [sic] lol," he allegedly told a girl in her mid-teens. In response to the article, Ryan tweeted, "I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly… But the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I though[t] was underage. Period." He added, "As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly. I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. And I wish everyone compassion, understanding and healing."

Run for the border

Sorry, but Jack Osbourne is not patrolling the U.S. southern border, despite a report stating otherwise. "Fake news. I DO NOT WORK FOR BORDER PATROL," he wrote on Facebook on Feb. 11. "I'm a reserve law enforcement officer close to the border." The denial came after Radar Online posted a story claiming Jack had recently become a U.S. Border Patrol officer. While his involvement with Border Patrol certainly appears to be false, Jack was recently photographed patrolling the streets in Malibu during the devastating wildfires that took place last November. In other Osbourne-related news, his father, Ozzy Osbourne, is out of the ICU following a hospitalization for the flu.
