Wonderwall.com rounded up all the ways Hollywood stars proved they're nothing like us this month, starting with the staggering wealth of one former child star: Kylie Jenner can't even drink alcohol legally, but according to mom Kris Jenner, her company, Kylie Cosmetics, earned $420 million in its first 18 months on the market. According to WWD, which got the scoop on the reality TV star's finances from her momager during an October 2017 interview, if the makeup company's growth trajectory continues, it's on track to become a billion-dollar business by 2022 — at which point Kylie would be just 25 years old. Oprah Winfrey is worth billions, but don't expect to see her at the bank. The media mogul revealed in a video for Ellen DeGeneres' YouTube channel that she recently went to the bank for the first time in almost three decades. "I went to the bank recently because I hadn't been to the bank since 1988," she said in a video that went live on Oct. 10, 2017. When Ellen asked why she was there, Oprah deadpanned, "To deposit a million dollars." Explained the multi-hyphenate: "I just wanted to go there just to do it. I stood in line, just to do it. … It felt fantastic." She then clarified that she didn't actually deposit $1 million. "It was $2 million," said O. Must be nice!

Angelina Jolie is absolutely stunning and worth millions. So too is a massive jewel named after her. On Oct. 5, 2017, Forbes reported that jeweler Robert Procop had named what he's claimed is the world's largest star sapphire the "Star of Jolie" in honor of the Oscar winner. The 888.88-carat gem serves as the pendant on an 18k rose gold necklace featuring 70 black star sapphires (an additional 104.42 carats). The necklace is worth a cool $5 million. Beyonce and JAY-Z's twins are just a few months old, but Rumi and Sir Carter have already been on their first helicopter ride — something most people (aside from celebrities, first responders and traffic reporters) will probably never get to experience. On Oct. 4, 2017, the duo touched down at a helipad in New York City with their parents and big sis, Blue Ivy Carter. (How's that for traveling in style?) The new arrivals will be no strangers to the joys of flight via helicopter: The family of five's new mansion in Los Angeles' uber-wealthy Bel Air neighborhood reportedly has its own helipad.
The Barbadian Ministry of Tourism announced in October 2017 that the town of Saint Michael in Barbados is planning to honor Rihanna by changing the name of the street on which her childhood home is located from Westbury New Road to Rihanna Drive. According to Nation News, a Barbadian news outlet, the name change will take place during a two-hour ceremony on Barbados' Independence Day, which is Nov. 30. Both the international superstar and the island nation's prime minister are expected to attend.
John Mayer dropped big bucks on a birthday present for himself when he turned 40 on Oct. 16, 2017. The singer commissioned IF & Co. jewelry designer Ben Baller to create an 18k white gold chain pendant bearing the likeness of Jeff Bridges' "The Big Lebowski" alter ego, The Dude (see it here). According to TMZ, the pendant is covered with 41 carats of diamonds, took about two months to complete and is worth somewhere in the six-figure range.
Burglars made off with around $50,000 in goods from Mariah Carey's Los Angeles mansion on Oct. 19, 2017. According to TMZ, thieves busted into the singer's home around 3 a.m. while she was in New York City. While practically no one is immune to the possibility of being burglarized, here's where Mariah stands apart from the rest of us: The robbers reportedly took $50,000 in purses and sunglasses. How many of you have $50,000 in purses and sunglasses alone?! Yeah, that's what we thought!
As you struggle to come up with an idea for the perfect Halloween costume this year, keep this in mind: Kit Harington once dressed up as himself — or at least as his "Game of Thrones" alter ego, Jon Snow — for a costume party. The actor explained how he ended up in the laziest costume ever during an interview with Heat magazine that went live in October 2017: "Recently I went to a 30th birthday party and the theme was 'bad taste,'" he said. "I was in Aberdeen, and I left it really late to get a costume. So I went to the one costume shop that was open … and the woman who worked there said, 'You know, you really look like the guy from 'Game of Thrones,' and I've got a 'Game of Thrones' outfit.'" After Gucci Mane wed longtime love Keyshia Ka'Oir on Oct. 27, 2017, the newlyweds celebrated with a $75,000, 10-foot-tall cake from Edda's Cake Designs. It reportedly took three months of planning and three days of baking to create the dessert, which featured layers of red velvet, amaretto, carrot, banana nut and Jamaican rum cake and featured 8,000 handmade sugar flowers and 2,500 Swarovski crystals. The happy couple used a sword to cut the massive confection (see it here).
TMZ reported in October 2017 that Ellen DeGeneres dropped $18.6M on a five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom beachfront mansion in Carpinteria, California. The home reportedly features 6,000 square feet of living space, a clay tennis court and a guesthouse.
We prefer to buy our medications from a good old-fashioned drug store, but Hollywood folks always seem drawn to bizarre alternative cures for basic ailments. Take Gerard Butler, for example. The Scottish star revealed during an appearance on the British talk show "Lorraine" in October 2017 that to combat the swelling and pain he experienced while shooting the box-office flop "Geostorm," he actually paid someone to inject him with bee venom "because apparently it has many anti-inflammatory compounds." Life isn't always easy. But no matter how bad things may get, at least we don't have to worry about our awkward dance moves going viral like Armie Hammer's did. On National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11, 2017, the studio behind the actor's upcoming '80s-set love story "Call Me by Your Name" released a clip of Armie dancing to The Psychedelic Furs' hit "Love My Way." Faster than you can say "aaaawkward," the clip got the meme treatment. It also launched a since-suspended Twitter account (@armiedancingto) that was dedicated to sharing videos of the actor dancing to various tracks.
Most people dread traveling with their feline friends — but not Norman Reedus. The star of "The Walking Dead" and the motorcycle travel show "Ride with Norman Reedus" regularly subjects his cat, Eye in the Dark, to cross-country travel. "He comes everywhere with me," the actor told Us Weekly on Oct. 22, 2017. "He doesn't like to be left alone. He racks up a major room service bill." Later that night, Norman shared a photo of his kitty curled up on the bed in a hotel room along with a note from housekeeping explaining that they couldn't make the actor's bed because of his four-legged friend. Racking up a major room service bill? Maybe. Inconveniencing the hotel staff? Absolutely! That's one pampered pet. We just hope Norman doesn't take him on the motorcycle trips!
