Beyonce is a stunningly gorgeous and talented multi-millionaire singer and has the receipts to prove it! In celebration of Queen Bey's three 2019 Emmy nominations for "Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce," Wonderwall.com is checking out all the ways Bey is nothing like us. Keep reading to see how she lives her best life…
Beyonce and hubby JAY-Z are so influential (and wealthy) that they've been given private access to the Louvre museum in Paris not once but twice! The A-list couple, who've visited the Louvre four times over the last decade, requested a private tour in 2014 and reportedly paid for 20 to 25 museum employees to staff the place during their visit. Bey and Jay truly upped the ante four years later when they closed down the museum to film the music video for their 2018 single "APES—." "The deadlines were very tight but the Louvre was quickly convinced because the synopsis showed a real attachment to the museum and its beloved artworks," a spokesperson explained to Vulture. Goals!
Beyonce might not act often, but when she does, she's getting paid for it! The star reportedly earned a whopping $25 million to lend her voice to Disney's 2019 live-action remake of "The Lion King," which went on to gross more than $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office. Cha-ching!
Beyonce spent the summer of 2018 busy on tour with hubby JAY-Z but made sure to make time for some R&R! The star vacationed on a super-luxurious yacht in Italy in July 2018, and it came with an insane price tag — $1.4 million a week! Though it's more than most people could imagine spending for their vacation, it's actually a steal compared to how much the yacht is worth! The $180 million boat features a basketball court, a private theater, a multi-level pool and a helipad among its many amenities.
Our yearly salaries are minuscule compared to what Beyonce brings in. In August 2019, Forbes named Queen Bey the world's second-highest-paid woman in music with more $81 million in earnings over the previous year, thanks mostly to her "On The Run II" stadium tour with husband JAY-Z plus her Netflix "Homecoming" special and accompanying live album. Could we borrow a few bucks?
Art isn't the only pricey thing Beyonce buys for her daughter. People magazine reported that the singing sensation purchased a $2,100 pint-sized Gucci dress (the women's version retails for $26,000!) from the brand's Fall '16 collection for little Blue Ivy Carter to rock at the 2017 premiere of "Beauty and the Beast" in Los Angeles. Blue is no stranger to Gucci, having previously worn a $1,800 Gucci dress (pictured here) to the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.
Beyonce expanded her empire — and her net worth — in 2019 when she landed a $60 million deal with Netflix. The superstar singer signed on to produce and star in three specials for the streaming platform, the first of which was released that April. "Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce," which documents her epic 2018 Coachella preparation and performance, earned three Emmy nominations. Meanwhile, we're still using our parents' Netflix login.
Beyonce is (obviously) a very busy woman and doesn't always have the time to dress Blue Ivy Carter herself… and that's where the personal stylist comes in! Bey and JAY-Z have arranged for their daughter to have her own stylist and personal shopper, Manuel Mendez, who has also served as Beyonce's personal assistant.
If there is one thing fans can expect from Beyonce, it's groundbreaking, flawless performances. The singer made history when she performed at Coachella in April 2018, becoming the first black woman to headline the annual music event. Her superstar set was also the most viewed Coachella performance and the most viewed live music festival performance on YouTube ever. Meanwhile, we're struggling to get more than 20 views on our vlogs…
When you reach the level of fame Beyonce has attained, there's nothing out of your grasp — including taking control of the esteemed September issue of Vogue. Bey did just that in 2018, taking the reins from editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to create her vision for the magazine's annual issue. This included selecting her own photographer, 23-year-old Tyler Mitchell, selecting the photos and captions for her spread and essentially writing her own interview. Instead of the outlet's typical format, Beyonce's article was written in her own words, which included some rare candidness on topics like her difficult pregnancy with her twins and her roots in the industry.
What's better than one multi-million-dollar home? Four, of course! Beyonce and husband JAY-Z own a $6.5 million, 8,000-square-foot place in New York City; a $26 million, 12,000-square-foot estate in the Hamptons; a $2.6 million, 13,292-square-foot home in New Orleans; and in 2017, they bought an $88 million mansion in Los Angeles — the most expensive L.A. County real estate purchase of 2017.
Can you imagine getting a standing ovation for eating? That's life for Beyonce, whose mere presence at a restaurant in Capri, Italy, in July 2018 with husband JAY-Z inspired patrons to stand up and clap after she and Jay finished their meal. Beyonce's hubby also got a hug and kiss from the restaurant's manager — talk about special treatment!
Who wants to join the Church of Bey? Right after dominating the stage at Coachella, Beyonce made another unexpected and extravagant real estate purchase: an old church in New Orleans for a reported $850,000! The former house of worship is more than 100 years old.
Beyonce doesn't only break records on the stage — she also demolishes them on the internet. The singer officially broke the internet when she revealed on Instagram that she was pregnant with twins in February 2017. The photo earned 11.2 million likes (we're lucky to hit 100) and was the most liked photo of 2017 and of all-time until February 2018. Sadly, Kylie Jenner took over the all-time Instagram likes crown with her own baby reveal, but we're confident Bey will reign supreme again some day.
What do you normally wear to the airport? Leggings and a hoodie? When Beyonce travels, she only wears the best. The superstar rocked a $13K outfit — which consisted of $10,000 Saint Laurent glitter boots adorned with Swarovski crystals, a pair of $500 mini Y Project shorts and a $450 Balenciaga T-shirt — while traveling on a private plane with hubby JAY-Z in December 2017. She completed the look with expensive jewels and a $1,495 square black MCM Berlin crossbody bag.
Imagine being so popular you have to change your email address every week. That's the life A-lister Beyonce lives! "I have an email address [for her. It] actually changes every week. She's very good at [hiding]," musician Ed Sheeran told "Entertainment Tonight" in 2017 while discussing how he and the superstar communicated while collaborating on his song "Perfect."
When you're as fabulous as Beyonce, you don't give birth like any old normal human — you do it in style. The singer reportedly rented a lavish, private delivery room when she welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter at Lennox Hospital in New York City in 2012. The newly renovated $800-a-night executive suite featured flat-screen TVs, upholstered sofas adorned with silk throw pillows, colorful abstract paintings, silver candlestick-shaped lamps and sleek chrome coffee tables topped with crystal candy bowls. Beyonce not only booked her room but the adjoining rooms too — for privacy, of course.
Unlike the rest of us normal civilians, Beyonce has spent quality time with a former POTUS and is good friends with a former FLOTUS. The legendary singer performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration ball in 2009 marking the beginning of what turned into a beautiful friendship. She went on to star in a music video for Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Campaign, host a fundraiser with JAY-Z for Barack in 2012, sing the national anthem at the leader of the free world's second inauguration in 2013 (pictured) and even once spent Memorial Day weekend with the Obama family at Camp David. More recently, Michelle made a special appearance at Bey's birthday party in 2016.
Not many regular people, or celebrities for that matter, can claim that they've changed the music industry. But Beyonce turned the music world on its head in 2013 when she dropped her first visual album, "Beyonce," with no prior promotion, announcements or singles. The two-times platinum critically acclaimed album sold more than 800K copies worldwide within the first three days of release and started the very popular trend of releasing surprise albums that many artists — from J. Cole to Drake — would copy in years to come.
What's better than one multi-millionaire? Two! Beyonce and husband JAY-Z have a very impressive combined net worth of $1.2 billion, according to Forbes. One billion dollars, people! Meanwhile, we're just trying to pay back our student loans…
With all this money and success, it makes sense that Harvard Business School would create a case study around Beyonce. That's right, the Harvard University released an in-depth study, "The Business of Being Beyonce," in 2014. It examines the "marketing savvy and tough calls behind [Beyonce's] surprise 2013 album release." Impressive!
The elevator video seen around the world! Most of our family fights don't make front-page news, but that's not the case with JAY-Z and Beyonce. The couple had the whole world talking in 2014 when a video surfaced of Bey's sister, Solange, trying her damnedest to beat up Jay in an elevator after the Met Gala as Beyonce watched. At the time, the couple didn't say anything about what caused the attack and instead made a brief statement explaining that "our family has worked through it." Beyonce later clarified in a remix of her song "Flawless" that "of course sometimes s— go down when it's a billion dollars on an elevator." Got us there!
Us regular folk might go to the amusement park with the rest of the public to celebrate a birthday, but Beyonce shuts the whole park down for private access. The singer and husband JAY-Z closed down Jungle Island Adventure Park in Miami to celebrate daughter Blue Ivy Carter's second birthday in 2014. The family reportedly explored all of the theme park's main attractions including the lemurs, orangutans, kangaroos, penguins, lions, tigers, leopards, a flamingo lake and a botanical garden.
While most of us can only afford to give a few dollars to charity every year, Beyonce drops millions. In 2017, she reportedly donated $7 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in her home state of Texas and showed up in her hometown of Houston, which was devastated by floods from the storm, to pass out donated clothes, food and supplies to those in need.
Diamonds are a girl's best friend and nobody knows that better than Beyonce. The singer wore more than $6.8 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry — including a custom-made pair of 70-carat diamond-and-titanium geometric earrings with 35-carat center stones and three platinum-set diamond rings — to the 2018 Grammy Awards.
When you're as famous as Beyonce, you have to protect your legacy, and that includes trademarking your children's names! The superstar and husband JAY-Z filed a trademark for their twins' monikers, Sir Carter and Rumi Carter, a few weeks after their birth in June 2017. This isn't the first time the A-list couple has registered for a familial trademark: They did the same for their oldest daughter's name, Blue Ivy, in 2012.
