Blake Lively had a painting commissioned for Ryan Reynolds and its backstory is adorable
When they're not busy trolling each other on social media, jokester spouses Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are, in fact, capable of expressing their love in the sweetest ways. The Instagram post Ryan shared on Thursday, Aug. 15, is a case in point. The image shows the actor decked out in a newsboy-appropriate cap, khaki button-down and boyish grin as he stands beside a painting of a kid tossing a newspaper at an idyllic looking home. As Ryan explains in the caption, the painting was "the greatest present" Blake ever gave him. "My first job was delivering newspapers for the Vancouver Sun," he explains. "The house in the painting is my childhood home. My brothers and I spent years trying to kill each other on that lawn. … The house no longer stands but it's a living, breathing thing in my head." He goes on to reference the "Easter eggs in the painting, including my idol, John Candy on the front page of the newspaper." He then credits the artist, Danny Galieote, and tosses in a quick requisite jokey jab at Blake — "If there's ever a fire, I'm grabbing this first. I'll come back for Blake" — before signing off. Blake and Ryan are currently expecting their third child.

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell post hilarious responses to tabloid email about alleged marriage, addiction problems
Something tells us the folks at Life&Style won't be reaching out for comments from Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell about their personal life anytime soon … That's thanks to Dax, who apparently got an email from someone at the magazine asking him to comment on a story by Thursday that cites "sources" as saying that, "Kristen and Dax have had problems in their marriage, including Dax's addiction issues, but that they're very happy now and are determined to make their marriage work." Dax did comment by Thursday — if you count the hilarious caption to the Instagram post he shared showing the email from Life&Style. "DAMNIT! Who in the inner circle leaked?! I want names!" he cracked. "My 'addiction issues' are between me, my sponsor, and the 3-4 folks listening to me speak about it for four hours a week on my podcast!!! How dare you!!! Now if you will excuse me, I have a marriage to save…" In addition to the whole lotta likes, he got a giant thread of replies, including some equally funny responses from Justin Long, Mae Whitman and, of course, Kristen, who offered, "Honey, I dare u to respond 'by 5 p.m. tomorrow' with an email of ALL [eggplant] emojis," followed by a jokey mea culpa. "I'm sorry, hun, it was me," Kristen quipped in another comment. "I've found that my most dependable friends have always been the sources at Life and Style. They are always there to listen when I need to vent about your @peakyblindersofficial addiction."

Kirsten Dunst learns spray tans and motherhood don't mix
Ah, the glamour of Hollywood, a place where a new mom can go back to work and spend her days inhabiting the dreamy world of … a con-woman water park employee in Florida. OK, so maybe not every role out there is about the glam. Just ask Kirsten Dunst, who started shooting her quirky new Showtime series, "On Becoming a God in Central Florida," five months after giving birth to Ennis Plemons, her first child with partner Jesse Plemons. "I had a spray tan every Sunday for this role," Kirsten told Steohen Colbert this week on "The Late Show," according to E! News. "I remember Monday morning my mother-in-law is texting me. She's like, 'I think Ennis has a little bit of brown, reddish hair coming in right here!' I was like, 'Lisa, that's my spray tan!' So, on Sundays I couldn't hold my kid." Instead, she pushed back the spray tan as late as possible each Sunday so she could at least hold the little guy before bed. "I couldn't put him to bed on Sunday nights because I would just get spray tan all over him!" she admitted, adding that the set was laid-back and her family and friends frequently visited her at work. "So I always had people around me. It wasn't so bad," she said. "It actually was a little bit of a break from cleaning bottles and things like that." Not to mention, cleaning spray tan off babies.
D.A. seeks new indictment in Harvey Weinstein's upcoming sex assault trial
Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault trial could be delayed months beyond its scheduled Sept. 9 start date now that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. is seeking a new indictment. Page Six reports the D.A. wants to re-present the case to a grand jury in order to allow former "Sopranos" star Annabella Sciorra to testify about her claims Weinstein raped her in her New York City apartment more than 25 years ago. Though the statute of limitations would prevent Weinstein from being charged, the theory is that Sciorra's testimony could potentially show he's attacked more than one person. For the predatory sexual assault counts to stick, the prosecution must prove Weinstein attacked more than two women, according to Page Six. Since the current indictment references two women's claims — one from an assistant in 2006 and one from an unnamed woman in 2013 — this might keep the case afloat should holes show up in the claims made by one of those women. The approach is unorthodox, according to legal experts interviewed by the tab. "Seeking to re-present the case to a new grand jury at the 11th hour to add the testimony of a 'new' witness whose claims have been public for almost two years is an ominous sign for the strength of the prosecution's case," said defense attorney Mark Bederow, who has no ties to the lawsuit. If found guilty, Weinstein could face a maximum sentence of life in prison. He has plead not guilty to the charges.

If Donald Trump's election taught us anything, it's that celebrities can be just as interested in American politics as anyone else. For Cardi B, American government has long been a passion, one her AP Government teacher of yore even stood up to defend earlier this year. The rapper previously leaked that she was sitting down with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for an interview. On Friday, Aug. 16, Rolling Stone published video of the pair's entire chat, which covered topics ranging from minimum wage and poverty to police brutality, which Cardi says sparked her decision to get politically active this year, to immigration and DACA. "We have this bully as a president. And the only way to take him out is somebody winning," says Cardi, who checked in with followers on social media to find out what issues they most wanted to hear about. "Obviously we need to end all forms of racism in this country," Bernie responds. "From Donald Trump down to the local police department. We have something like one out of four young black men in this country end up in the criminal justice system … That is disgusting and beyond belief. So the first thing we do is we make sure that young people in this country, Black, Latino, Native American, whoever they may be, get the kind of education and job training they need so they can go out and get good jobs. We have to invest in jobs and education." Later, the two discuss the minimum wage, which Cardi says prevented her from ever being able to "make ends meet" when she was younger, "no matter how many jobs [she] got." Bernie replies by explaining that's part of the reason he's proposed legislation to raise the minimum wage from $9 to $15 an hour. Before they wrap up, Cardi hits (again) on her favorite topic with regard to politics, FDR: "I think it's amazing because he became a president when America was in one of its worst times. He's my favorite," she says. "I hope I'll be your favorite when I get elected," Bernie replies.
Faye Dunaway sued for allegedly abusive, discriminatory treatment of an assistant
Faye Dunaway's alleged bad behavior on the set of the Broadway play "Tea at Five" may not have been limited to the crew members who said she threw things at them, among other examples of mistreatment. Those claims reportedly got her axed from the show. Now, she's also being sued for her allegedly abusive behavior — along with the play, its producer and a lawyer for the production. The Blast reports Michael Rocha has filed suit demanding unspecified damages for "retaliation and discrimination" on grounds he was fired after he reported to producers that the film icon was regularly insulting him with discriminatory language. Court documents show Rocha claims Dunaway subjected him to "abusive demeaning tirades" in which she called him and another play employee at one point, "little gay people." He says he complained to the producer that day but the behavior didn't stop. In fact, he says just days later she attacked him again, in the process of which she referred to him as "a little homosexual boy," which he says he captured on video. He claims that in spite of alerting the show's lawyer and GM, "nothing was done," according to The Blast. Finally, he says he was told two weeks later Dunaway was "not comfortable" with him "anymore," and he was fired. As he had never been disciplined for any of his behavior in the past, he says his firing was "in retaliation for reporting Dunaway's allegedly discriminatory behavior." The lawsuit comes on the heels of multiple reports from Page Six detailing decades of instances in which Dunaway was accused of abusing those around her, both on set and off.

One week after hitting the surf in Saint-Tropez, France, Sienna Miller and her boyfriend, Lucas Zwirner were spotted continuing their Europe-by-water vacation on a day-long boat trip with friends around Formentera, Spain, on Wednesday, Aug. 14. While Sienna's 7-year-old daughter joined the couple for a swim in Saint-Tropez, the Spain trip seemed to be an adults-only hang, which might explain the major PDA the two packed on while sitting in the sun on the ship's deck. Photos published in the Daily Mail show Sienna, 37, and Lucas, 28, wearing bathing suits and taking dips in the water between smooches. The two reportedly met through mutual friends. Lucas, the editorial director of David Zwirner Books, joined Sienna last year at a birthday party for the actress' ex, Tom Sturridge, with whom she's still close (they share custody of their little girl). Sienna and Lucas went public with their romance this past January.
Lance Bass and Michael Turchin are still trying for twins after six failed egg donors
'N Sync alum Lance Bass and his husband, Michael Turchin are focused on expanding their family by next year. The singer, 40, stopped by the Heather Dubrow's World podcast recently and shared an update on the surrogacy process he and Michael have been struggling with. "We're getting close," he said, according to E! News. "I know we keep saying this every time I come on your show… .It's been a process. You know, we went through seven [egg] donors, but this seventh one looks like it worked! So, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to announce some nice celebration. They will be here next — I say 'they' because, of course, we're trying to go for twins, but that's, you know, still up in the air. But yeah, so next year, 2020 babies!" Lance and Michael tied the knot in 2014 after three years of dating. Back in January, when they revealed they were trying to have twins, Lance said they'd ideally want a boy and a girl, in part because Michael is a fraternal twin. They're also doing what they can to try to have a baby (or babies) within certain astrological signs — Lance says he's "always" heard "don't have a Gemini" — and made another effort "now for them to stay a Taurus." Explaining how "ready" he's been since they first started discussing kids, Lance added: "It's been delayed so much. Like, I'm just kind of like itching to be a dad. You know, I'm 40 now. So, I mean, it's time. I've been waiting for this."
How Luann de Lesseps battles stress now that she's sober again
When "Real Housewives of New York" star Luann de Lesseps feels the urge to back peddle on her sobriety, the feeling comes on like "a wave." Speaking to Jenny McCarthy on the Wednesday, Aug. 14, edition of her Sirius XM radio show, Luann opened up about tackling anxiety now that booze is out of the picture. "It's like you go to the beach and you stand in the ocean and the wave is coming and it's like, 'Oh, here it comes!' And then it comes and it breaks and it goes away. So do those feelings,'" she said, according to TooFab. "So if you can just give yourself a deep breath and a minute to be like, 'It's OK. I feel this way. It's alright to feel this way. It's OK to want to drink because that's, you know, you have been doing this your whole life. So take a deep breath and, you know, reach for that mocktail.'" She went on to say she now drinks Heineken Zero, "so I feel like I'm having a beer," which she's always liked this time of year. "And I'll vape, too! I'll take a puff on a vape and get through the moment," said Luann. As for that wave? Like the ones on the beach, they do eventually break if you can wait it out. "You think it's so big," she said, "and if you just give it a second, it just goes away and then you can deal with it," she said. Her "Real Housewives" costars are somewhat less predictable, particularly since the intervention Bethenny Frankel staged and Luann's drunken arrest in Florida after an incident in December 2017. "I think it's harder to deal with them than being sober," she admitted. "Being sober's the easy part, you know? It's difficult to live under the microscope as it is, but then to not have your friends to help you out is even worse. It's really difficult." Earlier this year, a judge tightened the terms of her probation, having found that she'd violated what had been in place since she attended her most recent rehab program.

More proof Ariana Grande is a class act … Katy Perry appeared on the "Ellen K Morning Show" recently and revealed that she'd been out to eat with her fiance, Orlando Bloom, and his son, Flynn, when Ariana snuck in and paid for the whole thing. "Two weeks ago, I was at sushi and I ran into Ariana Grande," she recalled (via ET). "At the end of my long meal with Orlando and his son, we finished after an hour-and-a-half and we asked for the check. They were like, 'Ariana Grande has taken care of it.' And we were like, 'Oh my god! That is so cool!' Orlando's son is 8, so he was like, 'Dope.'" Looking back, she called Ariana's gesture "a boss move and such a cute gesture," adding that Orlando said he had "mad respect" for the singer after the sweet surprise. "She was so kind," Katy said. "I love little things like that."
