Anton Yelchin took on the part of Zack Mazursky. The character was based on Nicholas Markowitz, who was 15 when he was kidnapped and murdered.
R.I.P., Anton Yelchin. The beloved actor died at 27 on June 19, 2016, in a freak accident that saw him hit by his own car when it rolled backward and pinned him to a gate in his driveway in Studio City, California. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled the rising star's death an accident due to "blunt traumatic asphyxia." Anton's Jeep Grand Cherokee was reportedly one of 1.1 million Fiat Chrysler vehicles worldwide that were subject to a recall to address a defective shifter design flaw. Before his tragic death, Anton made a name for himself in the rebooted "Star Trek" movie franchise in the role of Chekov. He was also the voice of Clumsy in "The Smurfs" and "The Smurfs 2." Anton died with several unreleased projects in the pipeline including Netflix's upcoming animated series "Trollhunters," psychological thriller "Thoroughbred," sci-fi drama "Rememory" and two independent films, "We Don't Belong Here" and "Porto."
Justin Timberlake starred as Frankie Ballenbacher, Johnny Truelove's best bud who befriended Zack Mazursky in order to watch him. Justin's character was based on Jesse Rugge, who was charged with aggravated kidnapping with special circumstances and served 11 years of a life sentence before being released on parole.
After "Alpha Dog," Justin Timberlake continued to take roles in popular movies. He was entrepreneur Sean Parker in "The Social Network," Scott Delacorte in "Bad Teacher," Dylan in "Friends with Benefits," Will Salas in "In Time," Richie Furst in "Runner Runner" and Jim in "Inside Llewyn Davis." Most recently, the sometime "Saturday Night Live" guest star was the voice of Branch in the animated film "Trolls." Justin also released a new album, "20/20," in 2013, which earned him seven Grammy nominations at the 2014 ceremony (he won three). In 2016, Justin gave us another hit, "Can't Stop the Feeling," and we can't get it out of our heads! It's also hard to believe, but it was 10 years ago that Justin began dating Jessica Biel. Justin and Jessica got engaged in December 2011 and married in October 2012. They welcomed son Silas in April 2015, and Justin has been one of the most adorable celeb dads ever since.
Ben Foster played Jake Mazursky, Zack Mazursky's older brother. Ben's character was based on Benjamin Markowitz, who owed a drug debt to Jesse James Hollywood. Benjamin believed that Jesse's plot to kill Nicholas was not driven by money or drugs. Benjamin did not want to be Jesse's friend and believed that Jesse plotted revenge as a result.
Ben Foster joined his "Alpha Dog" co-star Emile Hirsch for another movie, "Lone Survivor." He also took on the role of Lance Armstrong in "The Program" and played Richard Livesey in "The Finest Hours." On Oct. 4, 2016, there was an engagement ring on her finger at the premiere of "The Girl on the Train" in New York City. He confirmed their betrothal one day later.
Sharon Stone starred as Olivia Mazursky, Zack Mazursky's mother. Olivia was based on Nicholas Markowitz's mother, Susan Markowitz.
Sharon Stone is now 58, but she looks ageless! She hasn't just been keeping up her good looks though! She's had a couple of big TV roles: She was ADA Jo Marlowe on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and Natalie Maccabee on "Agent X." Most recently, Sharon played Nina in the film "Mothers and Daughters." Her work schedule has been packed lately — she's currently starring in six films, a TV movie and a short that are still in production. In her personal life, the mother of three is dating sports agent Lonnie Cooper.
Amanda Seyfried played Julie Beckley, Zack Mazursky's girlfriend. She was based on Nicholas Markowitz's girlfriend, Jeanine.
After "Alpha Dog," Amanda Seyfried starred in musical and romance movies. She was Sophie in "Mama Mia" and Cosette in "Les Miserables." She also starred in "Letters to Juliet" and played Channing Tatum's love interest in "Dear John." She also teamed up with "Alpha Dog" co-star Justin Timberlake for "In Time." Up until 2011, she was Sarah Henrickson on HBO's hit TV series "Big Love." More recently, she starred in a couple of different movies about family dynamics including "Love the Coopers" and "Fathers & Daughters." Her love life has been especially interesting to follow in real life: She dated her "Mama Mia!" co-star Dominic Cooper from 2008 until 2010. She was then with Justin Long from 2013 to 2015. In early 2016, she went public with her "The Last Word" co-star Thomas Sadoski. They got engaged in September 2016. Two months later, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby.
Olivia Wilde played Angela Holden, Johnny Truelove's young, blond girlfriend. Angela was very much in love with Johnny just like Jesse James Hollywood's girlfriend, Michelle Lasher, was in love with her man.
Olivia Wilde joined her "Alpha Dog" co-stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried for "In Time." She also starred with Amanda again in another movie, "Love the Coopers." Olivia has also appeared in "TRON: Legacy," "Cowboys and Aliens," "The Change-Up" and "People Like Us." In addition to making movies, she's raised her profile on the small screen as well. She was Jenny Reilly on "The Black Donnellys," Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on "House," Olivia on "Doll & Em" and, most recently, Devon Finestra on "Vinyl." She's currently starring in a couple of films that are still in the works, "Black Dog, Red Dog" and "A Vigilante." As for her personal life? Olivia began dating Jason Sudeikis in November 2011, and they got engaged in January 2013. They welcomed son Otis in April 2014 and daughter Daisy in October 2016. Olivia and Jason still have a wedding to plan!
Shawn Hatosy played the intense role of Elvis Schmidt. Elvis was in debt to Johnny Truelove and was the shooter who killed Zack Mazursky. In real life, this character was based on Ryan Hoyt, who was sentenced to death for the murder of Nicholas Markowitz.

Career aside, Shawn is happily married with two children. He wed Kelly Albanese in December 2010, and they have two sons: Jordan, 10, and Leo, 4.
Bruce Willis played Sonny Truelove, Johnny Truelove's father and marijuana supplier. Sketchy Sonny has implied mob connections. The character was based on John "Jack" Hollywood, Jesse James Hollywood's dad. Jack worked as a paid consultant on the movie set and acknowledged that Bruce's character portrayal in the film was not exactly favorable. "My credibility may not be so good because from day one, they've had me pegged as the big mafia kingpin," he said, "but I'm a father who has a son and knows that things didn't happen the way they say it did."
Bruce Willis has been in tons of action movies since "Alpha Dog." Some of his best include "Surrogates," "Live Free or Die Hard," "A Good Day to Die Hard," "RED," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Most recently, he played Hubert in "Marauders" and Eddie Pilosa in "Precious Cargo." He's also in a few films that are still in production including "Once Upon a Time in Venice," "First Kill" and "Death Wish." The "Die Hard" franchise may also continue with Bruce. For now, it's just a rumor that he'll return as John McClane in "Die Hard Year One." As for his personal life, Bruce found love again after he divorced Demi Moore back in 2000.
