"A Star is Born" was originally released in 1934 and remade in 1954 starring Judy Garland and James Mason but it's the 1976 remake starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson that most people know and love. In celebration of the 2018 adaption featuring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, which hits theaters on Oct. 5, 2018, Wonderwall.com is checking up on the cast of the '70s incarnation to find out what they're all up to today…

Barbra Streisand was a superstar in the 1970s and still is today. The Hollywood icon has dominated every facet of the entertainment industry, from singing to acting to directing to producing. She's famously won two Academy Awards, 10 Grammys, five Emmys, a special Tony Award, a Kennedy Center Honors prize, four Peabody Awards, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and nine Golden Globes! Barbra is also one of the best selling recording artists of all time and the only recording artist to have a No. 1 album in each of the last six decades, having released 53 gold albums, 31 platinum albums, and 14 multi-platinum albums. Hollywood's hardest working woman most recently starred in 2012's "Guilt Trip" and released her 36th album, "Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway," in 2016. Next up, she'll direct the historical drama "Catherine the Great" and star in 2019's "The Politician." Barbra somehow found the time to be a mother to one son, Jason Gould, amidst her success. She's been married to her second husband, actor James Brolin, since 1998.

Kris Kristofferson played John Norman Howard, a self-destructive rock star with a career on the decline, in 1976's "A Star is Born."
Today, Kris Kristofferson is a respected country music legend. The singer-actor, who wrote and recorded hits like "Me and Bobby McGee," "For the Good Times," "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" and "Help Me Make It Through the Night," is still touring and performing. In 1985, he joined fellow country artists Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash to form the country music supergroup The Highwaymen, and in 2004, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Kris also continued to act with appearances in "Songwriter," "Blade," "Planet of the Apes," "The Jacket" and "He's Just Not That Into You." He most recently starred in 2018's "Blaze" and released his 18th studio album, "The Cedar Creek Sessions," in 2016. The Golden Globe winner is currently married to Lisa Kristofferson but was previously wed to Rita Coolidge, who also appeared in "A Star is Born," and Frances Beer. He's a father of eight children from his three marriages.
Gary Busey played Bobbie Ritchie, John's road manager, in 1976's "A Star is Born"
Gary Busey established himself as an in-demand character actor decades ago and has continued to work in film and television. He's appeared in "Lethal Weapon," "Predator 2," "Point Break," "Under Siege," "The Firm," "Carried Away," "Black Sheep," "Lost Highway," "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "The Buddy Holly Story," for which he was nominated for an Oscar. In the 2000s, Gary transitioned into reality TV and appeared on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," "Celebrity Apprentice," "Celebrity Big Brother" and "Dancing With the Stars." He is set to appear in 2019's "Rabere" and "In-Security." The father of three is currently engaged to actress Steffanie Sampson.
Paul Mazursky played Brian Wexler, John's agent, in 1976's "A Star is Born."
Paul Mazursky had a long and successful career in Hollywood with five Academy Award nominations and several hit films to his name. The Brooklyn native wrote and directed "Moscow on the Hudson," "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" and "An Unmarried Woman," for which he earned a best picture Oscar nomination. He also continued to act with appearances in "Into the Night," "Punchline," "Carlito's Way," "Antz," "The Sopranos," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Kung Fu Panda 2." Paul died at 84 in 2014 after going into cardiac arrest. He left behind his wife of 61 years, Betsy, and two daughters, Jill and Meg.

Joanne Linville is now retired from acting, but she accomplished some major career feats before hanging up her performing hat. After "A Star is Born," Joanne — who Trekkies might remember from her time as a Romulan commander on "Star Trek" in the 1960s — appeared in "The Seduction," "Charlie's Angels," "CHiPs," "Mrs. Columbo," "Dynasty," "L.A. Law," "Behind the Screen," "Bus Stop" and "James Dean." Her last acting appearance was in the 2005 short film "Beyond Lovely." In 2011, she authored the biographical book "Joanne Linville's Seven Steps to an Acting Craft." Joanne shares two children, Christopher and Amy, with ex-husband Mark Rydell.
Marta Heflin played Quentin, a magazine writer who sleeps with John, in 1976's "A Star is Born."
Marta Heflin made her mark in the industry after her appearance in "A Star is Born." A favorite of filmmaker Robert Altman, she starred in his 1979 movie "A Perfect Couple" as well as his 1982 flick "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean" alongside Kathy Bates and Cher and appeared in the Broadway version the same year. She also appeared in Martin Scorsese's 1982 film "The King of Comedy" alongside Robert De Niro and Jerry Lewis. But the Washington, D.C., native, who comes from a long line of Hollywood actors and directors, stopped acting in the early '80s and fell off the radar for the next three decades. She died in 2013 at 68 after a long illness.
M.G. Kelly played Bebe Jesus, a radio DJ, in 1976's "A Star is Born."
Today, M.G. Kelly, who's also known as Machine Gun Kelly (not to be confused with the rapper of the same name), is still a successful real-life radio DJ and program producer. He's continued to act here and there too, appearing in "The Enforcer," "The Buddy Holly Story," "Night Patrol" and "Body Slam." In the 1980s, he had short stints as the announcer on game shows "The Pop 'N Rocker Game" and "Wheel of Fortune."
