Marvel's box-office domination continues in 2019 with the release of the heavily anticipated origin film "Captain Marvel." In celebration of the movie's debut on March 8, 2019, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at the cast. Keep reading to see who's playing whom in "Captain Marvel"…

Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, in 2019's "Captain Marvel." Carol is an ex-U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and member of Starforce whose DNA was fused with that of a Kree during an accident, giving her superhuman strength, energy projection and flight.

Brie Larson has an Oscar, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe and she's only 29 years old. The California native first came to fame as a teen starring in "Raising Dad," "Hoot" and "United States of Tara." She went on to earn an Academy Award and Globe for her work in 2015's "Room" before starring in "Trainwreck" and "Kong: Skull Island." Next up, Brie will reprise her role as Captain Marvel in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame." She recently called it quits with her longtime fiancé, Alex Greenwald, whom she began dating in 2013.

Samuel L. Jackson stars as Nick Fury, the future director of S.H.I.E.L.D. who at this time is a low-level bureaucrat, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Samuel L. Jackson is a box-office superstar. The 70-year-old actor has starred in numerous hit films including "Goodfellas," "Jungle Fever," "Jurassic Park," "Pulp Fiction," "Django Unchained," "A Time to Kill," "Unbreakable," "Snakes on a Plane," the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy, "Iron Man," "Thor," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Avengers: Infinity War" and "The Incredibles." His impressive resume has made him the highest grossing all-time ticket-sales star with more than $12 billion in worldwide box-office gross. Samuel is showing no signs of stopping and is set to star in "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Shaft" this year. He shares one daughter, Zoe, with his wife of nearly 40 years, LaTanya Richardson.

Annette Bening stars as a mysterious figure from Carol's past in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Annette Bening is one of Hollywood's best actresses. The 60 year old is a four-time Academy Award nominee, a two-time Golden Globe winner and a BAFTA and SAG Award winner. She's starred in several critically acclaimed films including "The Grifters," "American Beauty," "Being Julia," "The Kids Are Alright," "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool" and "Mrs. Harris." Fans will soon be able to see Annette in the drama films "Georgetown" and "Hope Gap." Annette has been married to fellow Hollywood star Warren Beatty since 1992. The couple share four children.

Jude Law stars as Yon-Rogg, the commander of Starforce and Captain Marvel's mentor who trains her to use her new powers, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Jude Law has long been one of the industry's most in-demand actors. He's received nominations for two Academy Awards, two SAG Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and two BAFTAs, winning one. The 46-year-old Brit has also starred in a number of highly successful films and television shows such as "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Cold Mountain," "A.I. Artificial Intelligence," "Alfie," "The Holiday," "Hugo," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Sherlock Holmes," "The Young Pope" and the "Fantastic Beasts" film series (he's young Dumbledore). Next up, Jude will star in "The Rhythm Section" and "The Nest." The British heartthrob shares three children with ex-wife Sadie Frost, one daughter with ex-girlfriend Samantha Burke and one daughter with ex-girlfriend Catherine Harding. Jude previously dated Sienna Miller off-and-on for several years and is currently engaged to business psychologist Phillipa Coan.

Djimon Hounsou stars as Korath, a Kree mercenary who's second in command of Starforce, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

After years of modeling, Djimon Hounsou found fame as an actor in 1997 when he appeared in Steven Spielberg's "Amistad." The 54 year old has since appeared in "Gladiator," "Furious 7," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Aquaman," "In America" and "Blood Diamond," receiving Oscar nominations for the latter two films. Next up, Djimon will take on the role of wizard Shazam in 2019's "Shazam!" He shares a son, Kenzo Lee, with former partner Kimora Lee Simmons, whom he dated for five years. Djimon is currently dating a mystery woman with whom he walked the "Aquaman" red carpet in December 2018.

Gemma Chan stars Minn-Erva, a Kree sniper and member of Starforce, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Gemma Chan is poised to be Hollywood's next big superstar. The 36-year-old English actress appeared in a number of British TV shows including "Dr. Who" and "Fresh Meat" before landing supporting roles in "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit," "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Transformers: The Last Knight." She achieved international recognition in 2018 when she played Astrid Leong-Teo in "Crazy Rich Asians" and Bess of Hardwick in "Mary, Queen of Scots." Gemma broke up with "Fresh Meat" co-star Jack Whitehall, a British comedian, in 2017 after six years together and started dating actor Dominic Cooper in 2018.

Ben Mendelsohn stars as Talos, the shape-shifting leader of the Skrulls on Earth who goes undercover at S.H.I.E.L.D. as Nick Fury's boss, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Ben Mendelsohn has starred in a slew of blockbuster films including "The Dark Knight Rises," "Starred Up," "Mississippi Grind," "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," "Darkest Hour" and Steven Spielberg's adaptation of "Ready Player One." The 49-year-old Australian actor, who got his start on "The Henderson Kids," won an Emmy for his work on Netflix's "Bloodline." He's set to star in "The King" and "Spies in Disguise" in 2019. Ben has one daughter with his ex-wife, author Emma Forrest, and one daughter from a previous relationship.

Clark Gregg stars as Phil Coulson, a rookie agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who works closely with Nick Fury, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Clark Gregg has made a name for himself starring as Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has appeared as the character in "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "The Avengers" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" and voiced the character in "Ultimate Spider-Man," "Lego Marvel Super Heroes," "Lego Marvel Avengers" and "Marvel Heroes." Outside of the MCU, Clark has also starred in "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "The West Wing" and "Will & Grace." In 2020, he will star in "Run Sweetheart Run." Clark has been married to actress Jennifer Grey since 2001. The couple share one daughter.

Lashana Lynch stars as Maria Rambeau, one of Captain Marvel's oldest friends and a fellow Air Force pilot who's the mother of Monica Rambeau, in 2019's "Captain Marvel."

Lashana Lynch is a star on the rise. The 31-year-old British actress has appeared in a number of films and shows including "Fast Girls," "The 7.39," "Silent Witness," "Death in Paradise," "Crims," "Bulletproof" and "Still Star-Crossed." In 2020, Lashana will star alongside Diane Lane on FX's "Y."
