Audiences can expect some truly terrifying movies this summer, and we're here to let you know which ones you should check out, starting with "Slender Man." The film, which is based on the popular Creepypasta internet meme, centers on a group of teen girls who investigate the mystery of the Slender Man after a friend goes missing — only to become haunted by the Slender Man themselves. Few things are as scary as a killer nun. "The Nun," starring Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons, tells the story of a Catholic priest, a nun and a novice who investigate the mysterious suicide of another nun at the Cârța Monastery in Romania in 1952. Check out this "Conjuring" spin-off when it hits theaters on Sept. 7, 2018.

"The Little Stranger" is based on the novel of the same name and is guaranteed to terrify you. The 1940s-set period film, which stars Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Charlotte Rampling, tells the story of Dr. Faraday, a physician who's called to take care of a patient at Hundreds Halls — the home of a prestigious family for whom his mother once worked. When he arrives, he realizes just how ominous they really are. "The Little Stranger" hits theaters on Aug. 31, 2018.
The fourth installment of the "Predator" film series arrives in theaters on Sept. 14, 2018. "The Predator" is about a young boy who accidentally triggers an alert that brings the Predators back to Earth. If that wasn't bad enough, the awesomely terrifying creatures have genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other alien species, which, of course, leads to utter mayhem.
Who's ready for another Nick Frost and Simon Pegg collaboration? We know we are! The two "Shaun of the Dead" stars are coming together once again in the comedy-horror flick "Slaughterhouse Rulez." The movie, which is centered on British boarding school teachers and students fighting for survival after a sinkhole appears near campus, hits theaters on Sept. 7, 2018.
"The House with a Clock in its Wall" is an adaptation of a children's horror novel that will you leave you on the edge of your seat. The movie tells the story of 10-year-old orphan Lewis who moves in with his mysterious uncle (played by Jack Black) and accidentally awakens the dead. The fantasy film, which also stars Cate Blanchett, is coming to a theater near you on Sept. 21, 2018.
Ready for "Jaws" on steroids? "The Meg" is all about a 75-foot Megalodon shark that's terrorizing a beach and the group of scientists who are trying to stop it. The thrilling film, starring Jason Statham, Rainn Wilson and Ruby Rose, arrives in theaters on Aug. 10, 2018.

Want to know how the events featured in "Purge" came to be? If so, you should definitely check out "The First Purge," a prequel in the "Purge" franchise that hit theaters on July 4, 2018. The movie, starring Marisa Tomei and Y'lan Noel, centers on a group of inner-city youth fighting for their lives during the first annual "Purge," a once-a-year 12-hour window in which all crime in America is legal.
A film about a family haunted after the death of their secretive grandmother? Sounds pretty terrifying to us! "Hereditary," which was released on June 4, 2018, has an 89 percent fresh rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
"Upgrade" is the perfect science-fiction/horror hybrid that will leave you shaking with fear. The movie follows a man who is implanted with a chip that allows him to control his body after a mugging leaves him paralyzed. "Upgrade" arrived in theaters on June 1, 2018.
