Whether it's the tiny blonde tot from "Village of the Damned" or the long-haired little girl climbing out of the well in "The Ring," children have been serving up some of the big screen's most frightening scenes for a long time. In honor of the 35th anniversary of "Firestarter" on May 11, 2019, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at what its lead actress and more horror movie kids are up to now. Charlene "Charlie" McGee in "Firestarter" was a dangerous child who had the ability to set things ablaze with just a glance. Drew Barrymore played pyrokinetic Charlie McGee in "Firestarter," her third movie. The actress parlayed her success into fame in her adult years as well, staring in countless films over the last three decades and launching a production company, Flower Films, as well as a cosmetics line, Flower Beauty. Drew's latest high-profile project, Netflix's "Santa Clarita Diet," was canceled in April 2019 after three seasons. Drew can next be seen in "The Stand-In," which is currently in post-production. Offscreen, she's a devoted mother of two girls with ex-husband No. 3, art consultant Will Kopelman, whom she divorced in 2016 after three years of marriage.

Daveigh Chase, who was born in 1990, is now all grown up. 2002 was one of her biggest career years to date: Aside from bringing the terrifying Samara Morgan to life in "The Ring," she also voiced Lilo in Disney's "Lilo and Stitch." From there, she appeared on HBO's "Big Love" in 2006 and continued to act in film and television projects. Her most recent gig was voicing the Spirit of Time on "King of the Golden Sun" in 2018. In recent years, she's had some run-ins with the law. According to The Blast, in 2017, she was briefly jailed on a felony charge after she allegedly went joyriding in a stolen car. The same year, police questioned her on a warrant about a man she'd spent time with who later died after being dumped outside a hospital. In 2018, she was arrested in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Samara Morgan wasn't the only spooky child in "The Ring." Aidan was the son of Naomi Watts' character, Rachel, in the 2002 horror flick.

After starring in both "The Ring" and its sequel, David Dorfman went on to do some pretty impressive things. He enrolled at UCLA at 13 and graduated by 17 — as valedictorian. And David's amazing accomplishments don't end there: He graduated from Harvard Law School at the top of his class by 21. Since putting his Hollywood life on hold, he's largely been absent from the public eye — this picture is from his last red carpet appearance in 2010. His last project came that same year in the TV series short "Zombie Roadkill." In 2017, Refinery29 caught up with David, who revealed he's worked as an attorney on Capitol Hill and at the Justice Department in Washington, at a Hong Kong law firm and at Hollywood's MPAA on entertainment impact deals in Asia. "Honestly, I just feel so lucky to have such interesting experiences," he said. "From Hollywood to Harvard, from the Boston bombing prosecution to ISIS prosecutions to actually being able to write some laws in the Philippines, I'm just really incredibly grateful for all these great opportunities."

"The Amityville Horror" was this now-famous actress's very first movie! She was only 6 when she filmed the flick, which was released two years later in 2010. She played Chelsea, a little girl who creepily communicates with a ghost named Jodie.

Chelsea was played by Chloe Grace Moretz, who's gone on to have a successful career in Hollywood with starring roles in films like "Kick-Ass," "Carrie," "The 5th Wave" and "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," just to name a few. She's also made headlines for her on-again, off-again romance with Brooklyn Beckham. The couple called it quits for a second time in April 2018. The latest word on her love life? She was linked to model Kate Harrison in December 2018.

As tiny tot Tad Trenton in "Cujo," this young actor had to fight for his life against a St. Bernard that contracted rabies.

Danny Pintauro portrayed Tad Trenton in the scary 1983 dog flick "Cujo." He went on to star on the hit '80s sitcom "Who's the Boss?" and the 2010 drama "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and more recently played Gary in "Unsure/Positive." The Stanford University graduate, who's also a recovering meth addict, came out as a gay man in 1997 and married Wil Tabares in 2014. The following year, Danny revealed he's been HIV positive since 2003. These days, Danny has dedicated himself to a great cause — helping homeless animals. He now works at the Austin, Texas, nonprofit Austin Pets Alive as a veterinary and pharmacy technician.

Spoiler alert! In the 2009 film "Orphan," audiences were traumatized by the tale of a family that adopted a mysterious 9-year-old girl named Esther… who attempts to seduce her new father. Turns out little Esther was actually a 33-year-old murderer!

Isabelle Fuhrman brought the creepy character of Esther to life. She was 12 when the flick hit theaters. In 2012, she took on the role of Clove in "The Hunger Games" and starred as Lizzy Caplan's character's daughter, Tessa, on "Masters of Sex." The 1995 John Carpenter horror film "Village of the Damned" featured a particularly disturbing plot: The women in the town were giving birth to alien children. One of these tots was David McGowan.

Thomas Dekker starred as David McGowan, one of the evil children born in the little seaside town at the center of "Village of the Damned." Thomas has continued to work steadily in Hollywood ever since, landing roles on hit shows like "7th Heaven," "Heroes" and the television version of "The Terminator." He more recently he had a role in 2019's "Miss Bala." Next up? Thomas has a role in "Blue Call," which is currently in post-production. In 2017, he came out as a gay man and revealed that he'd married Canadian actor Jesse Haddock that April.

1999's "The Sixth Sense" centered around a boy named Cole Sear who was able to communicate with dead people.

Edward Furlong was 15 when "Pet Sematary 2" was released in 1992. He worked steadily throughout the '90s, wowing critics with his performances in films including 1998's "American History X." But he also began a long struggle with alcohol, heroin and cocaine addiction and went to rehab in 2000 and again in 2013 amid years of legal troubles. Now in his 40s, Edward — a divorced father of one — is still in the acting world, mostly taking parts in independent films. He also pops up on TV every now and then including on episodes of "Renegades" and "Star Trek: Renegades" in 2015 and 2017. His next project, "Karma" opposite Monica Keena, is in pre-production.

Rynn is the seemingly innocent little girl in the 1976 flick "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane," a child who mainly lives alone in a small town but is actually hiding a much darker side.

Jodie Foster played child murderer Rynn in "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane." Though she was only 14 when the film debuted in 1976, Jodie already had quite an impressive resume. Since then, the actress-turned-director has won two Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards. She's a mother of two teenage sons (she gave birth to her boys during her long relationship with ex Cydney Bernard) and married photographer Alexandra Hedison in 2014. In recent years, she's directed episodes of "Orange Is the New Black" and "Black Mirror" as well as the 2016 drama "Money Monster." More recently, Jodie returned to the big screen to star alongside Sterling K. Brown and Zachary Quinto in "Hotel Artemis."

Corey Feldman played the hero of the 1984 horror flick "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter." Corey was 13 at the time the film was released. He became a very famous actor whose name is synonymous with the '80s thanks to roles in flicks like "The Goonies," "The Lost Boys" and "Stand By Me." Corey, a twice-divorced father of one, continues to act and has also devoted himself to a music career despite a poorly received 2016 performance on the "Today" show. He married long-time girlfriend Courtney Anne Mitchell in 2016 and renewed his advocacy for sexual assault victims — he himself was abused as a child — in 2017 in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct scandal. Omri Katz landed the role of Max in "Hocus Pocus" and continued to act for some time. He appeared in the 1996 TV movie "Dallas: J.R. Returns," on a 1999 episode of "Freaks and Geeks" and on "General Hospital" in 2000 before retiring from acting in 2002. Omri is now a hairdresser who splits his time between Los Angeles and Israel.

This actress was only 11 years old when she starred opposite legend Bette Midler in 1993's "Hocus Pocus." She took on the role of Max's little sister, Danielle "Dani" Dennison.

Thora Birch starred as sassy 8-year-old Dani in "Hocus Pocus" and has continued to work since then. Her breakout role came in 1999 when she played Jane Burnham in the critically acclaimed film "American Beauty." Thora has also appeared in "Now and Then," "Ghost World," "Petunia" and "Colony." Next up, she'll star in 2019's "The Last Black Man in San Francisco" alongside Danny Glover and Finn Wittrock. Offscreen, Thora shared exciting news with fans in December 2018 — she got married (though she opted to not reveal the name of the groom!).

This blonde beauty made a name for herself starring as native Salem resident Allison Watts, Max's love interest who forms a close bond with Dani, in 1993's "Hocus Pocus."

After Vinessa Shaw played Allison in "Hocus Pocus," she developed into an accomplished actress. She's has appeared in "Eyes Wide Shut," "40 Days and 40 Nights," "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Ray Donovan." She most recently starred in the 2017 Netflix horror film "Clinical" and the 2018 horror film "Family Blood." Vinessa welcomed her first child, son Jack, with husband Kristopher Gifford in February 2018.
