Playing wannabe kickboxing champ Lloyd Dobler had an effect on John Cusack. The actor has kept up with the martial art since "Say Anything," earning a black belt. Has he also maintained Lloyd's level of romance? We're not sure, but you can ask his ex-girlfriends, who include former "Baywatch" star Brooke Burns, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Neve Campbell, Minnie Driver and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite dating a slew of Hollywood stars, when it comes to his personal life, John stays pretty private. Still, he's maintained a very healthy acting career, starring in movies like "Hot Tub Time Machine," "Bullets Over Broadway," "Being John Malkovich" and "High Fidelity." He also has a number of movies scheduled for release in 2019 including "Never Grow Old" and "Distorted."

Ione Skye starred as Diane Court, a high-achieving valedictorian who is Lloyd's love interest, in 1989's "Say Anything."
Ione Skye's career should have skyrocketed after "Say Anything," but she's remained pretty under the radar. Her credits include "Wayne's World," "But I'm a Cheerleader," "Fever Pitch" and "Zodiac." She also paints and wrote a children's book, "My Yiddish Vacation," which was released in May 2014. She most recently starred on the 2018 HBO series "Camping." As far as her personal life, Ione dated Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and model Jenny Shimizu and was once married to Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys. In 2008, Ione tied the knot with her current husband, Australian rocker Ben Lee, with whom she has a daughter, Goldie Priya Lee. She also has a daughter, Kate Netto, with furniture designer David Netto.
Lili Taylor played Corey Flood, Lloyd's friend who's never gotten over her cheating ex-boyfriend, in "Say Anything."
We're happy to say that Lili Taylor has ultimately had better romantic luck in real life. After failed romances with two famous actors in the '90s — "The Sopranos" star Michael Imperioli and "True Romance" star Michael Rapaport — she married writer Nick Flynn, with whom she shares daughter Maeve, in 2009. After "Say Anything," Lili went on to star in movies like "Short Cuts," "Rudy," "Ransom" and "The Conjuring." She's also graced the small screen, appearing on TV shows like "Six Feet Under" and "American Crime," for which she received a Emmy nomination. In 2019, Lili will star in "The Gettysburg Address" and "Eli."
Jeremy Piven played Lloyd's classmate, Mark, in "Say Anything."
Jeremy Piven has had a long and successful career since his "Say Anything" days. He starred in "Serendipity," "Grosse Pointe Blank" and "Runaway Jury" with his "Anything" co-star John Cusack and scored three Emmys playing Ari Gold on HBO's "Entourage." He more recently starred on the BBC series "Mr. Selfridge" and the CBS series "Wisdom of the Crowd." The CBS show was abruptly canceled in 2018 after several women claimed that Jeremy had groped or sexually harassed them. He vehemently denied the allegations, saying, "I have never forced myself on anyone, nor have I ever exposed myself or restrained anyone against their will. To the contrary, if any woman ever said no, I stopped." In 2019, he'll star in the independent sports-comedy film "All-Star Weekend."
John Cusack's real-life sister, Joan Cusack, played Lloyd's big sister, Constance Dobler, in 1989's "Say Anything."
"Say Anything" isn't the only time Joan Cusack has shared the screen with younger brother John. The Cusacks have co-starred in 10 movies including "Sixteen Candles," "High Fidelity" and "War, Inc." Joan has also made a lot of movies without John including "Addams Family Values," "School of Rock," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "In & Out," for which she received an Academy Award nomination. She's also guest-starred as Sheila Jackson on "Shameless," a role that's earned her five Emmy nominations and one win. Next up, she'll lend her voice to 2019's "Toy Story 4." Joan lives in Chicago with her lawyer husband, Richard Burke. The couple have two sons, Dylan John and Miles.
Eric Stoltz played party-throwing Vahlere in 1989's "Say Anything."
Years after playing Vahlere in "Say Anything," Eric Stoltz played a character with the same name in "Jerry Maguire," another Cameron Crowe flick. He's also appeared in non-Cameron Crowe movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Little Women" and has had recurring roles on "Mad About You," "Chicago Hope" and "Caprica." These days, however, Eric is usually found behind the camera. He's directed episodes of "Glee," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice." He's currently an executive producer on "Madam Secretary" on CBS. Eric married Bernadette Moley in 2005.
John Mahoney played Jim Court, Diane's divorced father who's being investigated by the IRS, in 1989's "Say Anything."
John Mahoney went on to become one of America's most beloved sitcom stars. He landed the role of blue-collar patriarch Martin Crane on "Frasier" in 1993 and continued in the role until the critically acclaimed series ended in 2004. Some of his other credits include "In Treatment," "Burn Notice," the Broadway revival of "Prelude to a Kiss," "The Rembrandt" and "Hot in Cleveland." John passed away in February 2018 after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 77.
Bebe Neuwirth played Mrs. Evans, a guidance counselor at Diane and Lloyd's school, in "Say Anything."
Bebe Neuwirth starred on 12 episodes of the "Cheers" spinoff "Frasier," which earned her an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series. Bebe continued to make appearances on television throughout the '90s and '00s on a wide range of series, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "The Good Wife." She played Nadine Tolliver on "Madam Secretary" from 2014 until 2017 and more recently appeared on an episode of CBS's "Good Wife" spinoff, "The Good Fight." Besides landing work on television and in the occasional film, Bebe has also starred on the stage, most notably winning a Tony for her performance as Roxie Hart in "Chicago" in 1997. Offscreen, Bebe married second husband Chris Calkins in 2009.
