Stars of the '90s: Where are they now?

We'll always have a soft spot for the '90s: the bad hair, the even-worse clothes and, of course, the totally awesome pop culture. Ever wonder what happened to your favorite stars of the '90s? Let's take a look, starting with Mario Lopez. If you didn't have a poster of A.C. Slater inside your locker, he was still at least on your list of "first celebrity crushes," right? Mario Lopez started his career in the 1980s, but everything changed in 1989 when he was cast as A.C. Slater in the popular television sitcom "Saved by the Bell." After the show wrapped in 1993, Mario continued to land smaller roles and thankfully hasn't let his delicious dimples, playful smile and full head go to waste.

Mario Lopez

Handsome Mario Lopez turned to hosting after his "Saved By the Bell" run. He presented several shows throughout the 1990s including "Name Your Adventure" and "Masters of the Maze," but his popularity peaked again in the 2000s. He competed and came in second place on the third season of "Dancing with the Stars" in 2006. He subsequently dated his partner, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, from 2006 to 2008. Big things happened for Mario in 2008. He began hosting MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," where he worked until 2012, and started hosting "Extra." It was also the year he began dating Broadway dancer Courtney Mazza. The pair had a daughter, Gia Lopez, in 2010. They married in Mexico in December 2012 and welcomed a son, Dominic Lopez, in 2013.

Selma Blair

The Detroit native and aspiring photographer studied at Kalamazoo College and New York University before graduating magna cum laude from the University of Michigan in 1994. After graduation, Selma Blair moved back to New York City to pursue her acting career. Within a year, she'd made her small-screen debut in Nickelodeon's "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." But it wasn't until 1999 that Selma became a huge star thanks to her roles in teen drama "Cruel Intentions" and sitcom "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane." So where is she now? Keep clicking to find out!

Selma Blair

Though Selma Blair has never recaptured her early success, she scored hits with "Legally Blonde" and the "Hellboy" franchise. She even starred on Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management" until late 2013 when she was written out of the show amid allegations that she and the tiger blood enthusiast were feuding. In 2016, she starred in two big-screen successes: "Mothers and Daughters" with big names like Susan Sarandon and Sharon Stone and "Geezer." Sadly, Selma has not been particularly lucky in love. She wed writer-producer Ahmet Zappa in 2004 but filed for divorce two years later. Her relationship of two years with "Kath & Kim" co-star Mikey Day came to an end in 2010. And in 2012, she split from fashion designer Jason Bleick — the father of her son, Arthur — after two years together.

Twins Cynthia Daniel and Brittany Daniel found fame on the 1994 FOX show "Sweet Valley High," based off of a series of novels by Francine Pascal. But it's been almost 20 years since the TV show ended in 1997.

Carson Daly

The son of a TV host and an actor grew up in Santa Monica, Calif., and attended L.A.'s Loyola Marymount University before he became one of Hollywood's most successful VJs. Carson scored his major breakthrough in 1998 when MTV cast him as the host of music video countdown show "Total Request Live." During the height of his fame, the MTV host romanced Jennifer Love Hewitt and Tara Reid, to whom he was even engaged. In 2002, Carson left "TRL" — but not Hollywood! — behind.

Carson Daly

Immediately after he left "TRL," the former MTV VJ began hosting late-night show "Last Call With Carson Daly," which he still hosts today. He's also been hosting "The Voice" since 2011. In 2013, Daly joined NBC's morning show Today as a social media correspondent. That same year, Carson asked food blogger Siri Pinter to be his wife. The duo, who said their vows in December 2015, have three children, son Jackson James and daughters Etta Jones and London Rose. Carson continues to host two radio shows each day: "Mornings with Carson Daly" and "The Daly Download with Carson Daly."

Devon Sawa

The Toronto native achieved pre-teen heartthrob status in the mid '90s thanks to his roles in "Little Giants," "Casper" and "Now and Then." By the end of the decade, he graduated to more mature fare like "SLC Punk!" and "Idle Hands." But Devon, who also starred in the music video for Eminem's "Stan," is probably best known for starring in "Final Destination." Sadly, after the early aughts, the sexy star — who romanced Danielle Fishel and was reportedly linked to Rachel Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and "Scrubs" star Sarah Chalke during the height of his fame — slipped out of the spotlight.

Devon Sawa made several independent films throughout the years, and he even starred on the CW's "Nikita" from 2010 to 2013, but he's yet to recapture his early success as an actor. He and "Bachelor Canada" producer Dawni Sahanovitch secretly tied the knot sometime after late 2011 and welcomed a baby boy, Hudson, in January 2014. Just over two years later, in March 2016, they welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Scarlett.

Geri Halliwell

The British beauty worked as a nightclub dancer and nude model before she responded to a 1994 casting call looking to form a girl group. That group, the Spice Girls, made Geri an international star. But in 1998, the singer known as Ginger Spice left the group to launch her solo career. The following year, she released her debut album, "Schizophonic," which featured three No. 1 hits in the U.K. Geri, who dated singer Robbie Williams in 2000, released two more solo albums in 2001 and 2005, but her success as a solo artist was to be short lived.

Geri Halliwell

In May 2006, Geri Halliwell welcomed a daughter, Bluebell Madonna, with her ex-boyfriend, British writer-director Sacha Gervasi. The following year, she reunited with her girl group for their Return of the Spice Girls tour. (The Spice Girls reunited once again in August 2012 to perform during the closing ceremony of the London Olympic Games.) The singer-actress, who suffered a failed attempt to release new music in late 2013, served as a judge on the seventh season of "Australia's Got Talent." In 2015, Geri Geri revealed she's been working on new music with the help of Amy Wadge, who co-wrote Ed Sheeran's hit single "Thinking Out Loud," and Eliot Kennedy, who penned the Spice Girls song "Say You'll Be There." But in 2016, she decided to get back with her band mates Mel B and Emma Bunton as the newly-called girl group GEM, announcing that they would be working on music together. After briefly romance with Russell Brand in 2012 following his split from Katy Perry, Geri started dating Formula One tycoon Christian Horner. The pair married in May 2015.

Amy Jo Johnson

The competitive gymnast and Massachusetts native gave up her Olympic dreams when she was sidelined by a serious injury. After high school, Amy shifted her focus to acting. In 1993 — within a month of moving to Los Angeles — she was cast as the original Pink Ranger in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." She left the show in 1995 but continued working in television throughout the end of the decade, scoring her second big break in 1998 when she won the role of Keri Russell's pretty pal Julie on "Felicity."

Amy Jo Johnson went on to star in "Flashpoint" from 2008 to 2012, and she joined the cast of "Covert Affairs" in 2014. The singer-actress has also released three albums. In December 2008, she and her husband, Olivier Giner, welcomed their first and only child, daughter Francesca Christine.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Before Justin Bieber and Zac Efron, there was Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the most beloved tween heartthrob of the '90s. JTT got his first big break in 1991 playing middle child Randy Taylor on "Home Improvement." During his seven-year stint on the show, he also starred as Tom Sawyer in "Tom and Huck" and romanced Jessica Biel in "I'll Be Home for Christmas." But most important, in 1994 he voiced young Simba in "The Lion King." Then in 2000, despite his overwhelming success as a child star, Jonathan left Hollywood behind.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

He traded in his life in the limelight for a life in the classroom. The former child star spent time studying at Harvard, Columbia and St. Andrew's University in Scotland before returning to Hollywood in 2013 to guest-star in a few episodes of "Last Man Standing," Tim Allen's latest sitcom. In August 2013, JTT reunited with fellow "Home Improvement" child star Zachery Ty Bryan at the Los Angeles premiere of "Dark Tourist," which Zach produced. Two for the price of one!

Jodie Sweetin

This adorable actress was just 5 years old in 1987 when she won the role of Stephanie Tanner on "Full House." She starred alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen until 1995. But unlike the Olsen twins, who continue to be two of the biggest names in Hollywood, Jodie's career in the business ended when "Full House" went off the air.

Jodie Sweetin

Jodie Sweetin's life post-fame has been anything but easy. In the mid-aughts, she became addicted to methamphetamine, a habit that caused the 2006 implosion of her four-year marriage to an L.A. police officer. In 2007, she wed set designer Cody Herpin, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Zoie, the following year. But by the end of 2008, they were through, sparking a heated custody battle and a relapse with alcohol and cocaine for the former child star. Jodie welcomed a second daughter, Beatrix, in 2010 — and almost died during childbirth. She wed Bea's father, musician Morty Coyle, in 2012. But sadly, in June 2013 Jodie filed for legal separation from her third husband. In 2016, she reappeared as Stephanie Tanner in the Netflix "Full House" reboot called "Fuller House," which has already been renewed for a second season. The same year, she headed to the ballroom competing on "Dancing with the Stars," but was eliminated early on. Jodie is currently engaged to Justin Hodak.

Skeet Ulrich

Skeet was poised to become one of the biggest names in Hollywood when he broke onto the scene in the late '90s, first as the popular jock who crosses a coven of high school witches in "The Craft" and then as Sydney Prescott's homicidal boyfriend in "Scream." The poor man's Johnny Depp wed actress Georgina Cates in 1997, and in 2001, the couple traded in Hollywood for a farm outside Charleston, W. Va.

Skeet Ulrich

In 2001, Skeet Ulrich and wife Georgina welcomed twins Jakob Dylan and Naiia Rose. But it wasn't meant to be for the couple: They divorced in 2005. That's when Skeet made his big comeback in the cult hit "Jericho." He starred on the post-apocalyptic drama until 2008 and then on "Law & Order: L.A." from 2010 to 2011. Skeet is currently engaged to Rose Costa, after going through his second divorce with Amelia Jackson-Gray in 2015.

Danielle Fishel

We first fell in love with Danielle — and her luscious long locks — in 1993 when she played Topanga Lawrence in "Boy Meets World." For the next seven years, she starred on the sitcom opposite Ben Savage as Cory Matthews. But off-camera, she romanced boy-bander Lance Bass from 1999 to 2000. (He didn't come out as gay until 2006.) Since "Boy Meets World" wrapped, Danielle has appeared on television only rarely.

Danielle Fishel

The past few years have been life changing for Danielle Fishel! In 2012, the former child star finally graduated from college after heading back to school following her 27th birthday. In October 2013, she wed longtime love Tim Belusko. Danielle and Ben Savage reunited for "Girl Meets World," a spinoff of the show that made them stars. The sitcom premiered on the Disney Channel in June 2014 and was renewed for a second season, that started in May 2015. Danielle also wrote a memoir, "Normally, This Would be Cause for Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness," which was released in September 2014. She even posed for the April 2013 cover of Maxim!

Joey Lawrence

Joey Lawrence may have spent four years in the mid-'80s on "Gimmie a Break!" but it wasn't until 1990 that he became a household name — and a teen idol — thanks to his role as Joey Russo on "Blossom." A film role opposite John Travolta and an eponymous R&B/pop album followed. In 1995, Joey returned to the small screen in "Brotherly Love" and brought his two real-life brothers with him. The heartthrob also spent time with two of the hottest young starlets in Hollywood, Katherine Heigl and Keri Russell, during the '90s. But after "Brotherly Love" came to an end in 1997, Joey slowly slipped out of the spotlight.

Joey Lawrence continued to appear on television throughout the aughts — most notably in "American Dreams." The former teen idol wed Michelle Vella in August 2002, but by 2005 they were through. That same year, he married his second wife, Chandi Yawn-Nelson. The couple now have two daughters, Charleston and Liberty Grace. In 2006, Joey competed on the third season of "Dancing With the Stars." But it wasn't until 2010 that he scored his big comeback opposite former child star Melissa Joan Hart in "Melissa & Joey," which was canceled after its fourth season in 2015. A few audiences were lucky to catch the chiseled actor's limited engagement with Chippendales in Las Vegas in 2012. Whoa!

Alanis Morissette

This rock goddess exploded onto the music scene in the '90s, and by the time her third album, "Jagged Little Pill," hit shelves in 1995, she was one of the most popular female artists in the business. Her hit single "You Oughta Know" — rumored to be inspired by her relationship with "Full House" actor Dave Coulier — became the breakup anthem and helped Alanis win four Grammys in 1996, including Album of the Year. In 1999, she played God in "Dogma." How cool is that?

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette continues to make music, though she's yet to replicate her '90s success. In the mid-aughts, she turned her attention to acting and even had a recurring role on "Weeds." In 2002, she met Ryan Reynolds, to whom she was engaged from 2004 to 2007 — their breakup inspired her album "Flavors of Entanglement." Alanis eventually moved on with rapper Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway. They tied the knot in May 2010 and welcomed their son, Ever, later that year. In June 2016, the couple welcomed their second child, a baby girl.

Ian Ziering

The man who so fearlessly rocked this platinum blond mullet spent an entire decade, from 1990 to 2000, starring as Steve Sanders on "Beverly Hills, 90210." On July 4, 1997, he wed Playboy Playmate Nikki Schieler.

After "90210" went off the air, Ian Ziering continued to do voice work and appeared in small roles on television. In March 2002, Ian and Nikki parted ways after five years of marriage. A few years later, the former teen star began to capitalize on his nostalgia appeal by playing a version of himself alongside "90210" co-star Brian Austin Green in "Domino" and by competing on the fourth season of "Dancing With the Stars." Ian wed Erin Kristine Ludwig in May 2010, and the couple now have two daughters, Mia Loren and Penna Mae. He also received a major career boost in 2013 thanks to his role in SyFy flick "Sharknado" — and a sexy stint with Chippendales in Las Vegas. He's since been in all four of the "Sharknado" flicks.

John Stamos

This attractive actor spent most of the '80s working on television, but it wasn't until 1987, when he won the role of Uncle Jesse in "Full House," that he became a household name. After the show went off the air in 1995, John appeared in a series of made-for-TV movies. In 1998, he became half of one of the sexiest power couples in Hollywood when he wed Rebecca Romijn.

In 2005, John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn officially ended their marriage. That same year, the gorgeous actor joined the cast of "ER" as Dr. Tony Gates, a role he'd play for the next four years. He received a small career boost in 2010 when he appeared on "Glee" as a sexy, singing dentist, and again in 2013 thanks to his role as a sports agent in "Necessary Roughness." In July 2013, he reunited with his "Full House" band, Jesse and the Rippers, on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." In June 2015, John was arrested for DUI in Beverly Hills and spent some time in rehab, but has since been on the mend. In 2016, he'll be reprising his role as Uncle Jesse on the Netflix "Full House" reboot "Fuller House," In 2015, starring in the Fox comedy "Grandfathered," and joining the "Scream Queens" cast. We have only one thing to say: "Have mercy!"

Vanilla Ice

There was no way to escape the rapper's breakthrough hit, "Ice Ice Baby," after it hit the airways in 1990. His album "To the Extreme" spent 16 weeks in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. He even wooed Madonna! But Ice's second album failed to reproduce his earlier success, and during the mid-'90s, he began to slip out of the spotlight and into a drug-fueled haze. On July 4, 1994, he attempted to kill himself by overdosing on heroin. After the failed attempt, the artist, also known as Robert Van Winkle, cleaned up his act. He focused on competitive jet skiing and motocross, met Laura Giaritta, whom he wed in 1997, and began several side projects outside the entertainment industry, such as flipping houses and running a Miami-based extreme sports store.

Vanilla Ice

Vanilla Ice and Laura now have two daughters, Dusti Rain and KeeLee Breeze. Sadly, their marriage ended in 2011 amid allegations she cheated. The rapper continues to make music, though he's never come close to re-creating the success of "Ice Ice Baby." Rob turned to reality television in the aughts, appearing in "The Surreal Life," "Dancing on Ice" and the home-renovation show "The Vanilla Ice Project." In 2012, he made a cameo appearance in Adam Sandler's gross-out comedy flick "That's My Boy."

MC Hammer

Stanley Kirk Burrell became a breakout star in 1990 thanks to his hit single "U Can't Touch This." His trademark Hammer dance became an international dance craze — and Hammer pants were named in his honor. Despite his many musical ventures, television projects and appearances in small film roles, by 1996, the rapper was totally broke — $13 million in debt, to be precise! He filed for bankruptcy that year. In 1997, he founded the M.C. Hammer and Friends television ministry; and now, the MC in his stage name stands for "Man of Christ."

MC Hammer

MC Hammer still makes music, though he mostly lends his talents behind the scenes these days. In 2009, Hammer and his family appeared on the A&E reality-TV show "Hammertime." In perhaps the most memorable moment of the 2012 American Music Awards, the rapper joined Psy onstage for a mash-up of "Gangnam Style" and "2 Legit 2 Quit."

Fiona Apple

This angsty singer took the late-1990s by storm. In 1996, Fiona's debut album, "Tidal," was released, and fans (including us!) could be heard singing along to her powerful ballads everywhere. The New York-native went on to win her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for her wildly popular single "Criminal" off the debut album. Fiona's talents didn't go unnoticed among the Hollywood crowd, either. She caught the eye of magician David Blaine, and the pair dated in the mid-1990s. Or maybe not. For all we know, their romance could've been just an illusion.

Fiona Apple

Following the success of her debut album, Fiona Apple released three more records, which never saw the same success as her first. Sadly, her music hasn't been as newsworthy as her recent trouble with the law. In 2012, the singer-pianist was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and hashish after authorities found the drugs on her tour bus during a routine border check in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Melissa Joan Hart

The New York native was one of the most sought-after young stars of the '90s. Her rise to stardom started when she landed the lead role on Nickelodeon's "Clarissa Explains It All." After her three-year stint on the show, the starlet moved on and became "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." Despite the squeaky-clean image she maintained throughout her youth, the actress recently revealed in her memoir, "Melissa Explains It All," that she "experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half."

After "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" wrapped in 2003, Melissa Joan Hart got hitched. She married musician Mark Wilkerson in Florence, Italy, on July 19, 2003. Their nuptials aired as a TV miniseries, "Tying the Knot." Since their Italian wedding, the couple have welcomed three sons: Mason, Braydon and Tucker. In 2010, Melissa made her big return to TV, starring opposite fellow '90s star Joey Lawrence in "Melissa & Joey," until ABC Family canceled the show following its fourth season in 2015. She's currently focusing on the kids' fashion line she started with her hubby, King of Harts.

Mayim Bialik

If you grew up in the '90s, you've heard of "Blossom." You know, the fun-loving and hilarious teen played by Mayim. After the show's five-year run on NBC, the promising star — who played a young Bette Midler in "Beaches" — practically vanished from Hollywood.

Unlike most young Hollywood stars, Mayim Bialik favored higher education over the spotlight. She traded in scripts for books and enrolled at UCLA, where she received her degree in neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish studies. She didn't stop at undergraduate work. Instead, she went on to earn her Ph.D. in neuroscience in 2007. Mayim married Michael Stone in 2003 and welcomed their son two years later. Sadly, they parted ways in 2012. In 2010, the actress made her big return to the little screen as neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory." So far, she's earned four Emmy nominations for the role.

Jaleel White

Jaleel is best known for his role as the nerdy, suspender-wearing Steve Urkel on the hit TV show "Family Matters." For almost a decade, the quirky youngster had us LOL-ing and saying "TGIF!" Unfortunately, it was difficult for the California-native to shake his geeky alter-ego after the show ended in 1998.

Following his long run on "Family Matters," Jaleel White went on to star in the short-lived TV series "Grown Ups," which was canceled after one season. He then switched gears and headed to college. In 2001, he graduated from UCLA with a degree in film and television. Though he hasn't been able to land a recurring gig on TV, fans enjoyed watching him bust a move on "Dancing With the Stars" in 2012. Jaleel has one daughter, Samaya.

Christina Ricci

Back in the '90s, this California girl was the go-to actor for any movie that required an adorable, spooky youngster. From "The Addams Family" and "Casper" to "Now and Then" and more, Christina was a fixture on the big screen throughout the '90s. Just check out her résumé.

Fortunately, the bright-eyed star continues to work regularly in Hollywood as an adult. In 2016, she starred in "Mothers and Daughters" alongside Susan Sarandon and Sharon Stone. Christina Ricci has also found success in her personal life. In October 2013, she wed dolly grip James Heerdegen, whom she met on the set of "Pan Am." But it wasn't Christina's first engagement: she almost made it down the aisle with fellow actor Owen Benjamin, but the pair split in 2009. The actress and her hubby had their first child together — a son — in 2014.
