Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks call for more female inductees during Hall of Fame ceremony
While accepting their individual honors on March 29, Janet Jackson and Stevie Nicks both challenged the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to induct more females. Janet, who joins her previously inducted brothers, called for more inclusion before she left the stage at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," she said, "in 2020, induct more women." Stevie — who is the first woman to join 22 men who've twice been honored by the hall for different stages of their career, following her previous induction with Fleetwood Mac — said she felt confident other female artists could join her: "What I am doing is opening up the door for other women."

Britney Spears checks into mental health facility amid father's health crisis
Eleven years after she suffered a headline-making breakdown, Britney Spears has checked herself into a mental health facility as she struggles to cope with her father's health crisis (he suffered a ruptured colon in late 2018), multiple outlets reported on April 3. The same day the news broke, the pop superstar took to Instagram to post the message, "Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit." Her sister, ex-husband Kevin Federline and boyfriend Sam Asghari have all since publicly voiced support for Britney's decision.

Cardi B leads 2019 Billboard nominations with 21
Cardi B is unstoppable! The rapper received 21 Billboard Music Award nominations in 18 categories, according to an announcement released on April 4. The rapper, who will compete against herself in three categories, just missed the record for most nominations set by Drake and The Chainsmokers, who each had 22 in 2017.

Los Angeles rapper and 2019 Grammy nominee Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot on March 31, leaving behind his girlfriend, actress Lauren London, and two children. He was 33. Rockabilly Hall of Famer Billy Adams, who wrote and recorded "Rock, Pretty Mama," died on March 30 at 79. Jenny Pagliaro, lead singer and co-founder of Roses and Cigarettes, died on March 26 after suffering complications from stage IV breast cancer. She was 35.
Mick Jagger undergoes heart surgery, Rolling Stones tour postponed
Mick Jagger is recovering after undergoing a successful surgery to replace a heart valve on April 4. The Rolling Stones announced on April 2 that they would postpone the North American leg of their "No Filter" tour, which was set to kick off later in the month, due to Mick's health issues. "Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment," a representative said in a statement. "The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible."
ABBA set to release new music in the fall
ABBA fans, get ready! The group announced on April 3 that they will be releasing at least one new song in "September or October" of this year. One of the most successful pop groups of all time, ABBA went their separate ways 37 years ago.
The Eagles to perform entire "Hotel California" album at Las Vegas concert
The Eagles will perform their 1976 "Hotel California" album in its entirety for the first time at upcoming concerts in Las Vegas, Live Nation announced on April 2. The band will take the stage on Sept. 27 and 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Justin Bieber ruffles feathers with April Fools Day pregnancy prank
Justin Bieber briefly fooled fans when he posted a photo of an ultrasound on his Instagram feed on April 1. The pop star followed the post with a photo of wife Hailey Baldwin holding her stomach at a doctor's office with the caption, "If U thought it was April fools." JB later clarified that it was just an April Fools Day prank. He also apologized after receiving backlash from fans with fertility issues. "I didn't at all mean to be insensitive to people who can't have children," he wrote.
