Country music's biggest female musicians and singers spent an evening empowering one another at the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year celebration on Oct. 17. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert (with the Pistol Annies), Maren Morris, Hillary Scott, Kelsea Ballerini and more gathered in Nashville for CMT's first all-female take on the big event.

Fleetwood Mac fires back at Lindsey Buckingham amidst lawsuit
Fleetwood Mac addressed their legal battle with longtime guitarist Lindsey Buckingham on Oct. 12 after Lindsey sued the band for wrongful termination. The band released a statement saying, "Fleetwood Mac strongly disputes the allegations presented in Mr. Buckingham's complaint and looks forward to their day in court."
Cardi B, Childish Gambino win big at 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards
Cardi B, Childish Gambino and the Carters dominated the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards in Miami on Oct. 16, each winning multiple trophies. Cardi took home four prizes including best featured verse and MVP of the year, while Beyonce and JAY-Z won the three awards and Childish Gambino (aka actor Donald Glover) snagged two.

Kanye West gifts Yeezy sneakers to children in Uganda
Kanye West handed out thousands of dollars' worth of Yeezy sneakers to Ugandan children while visiting the Uganda Women's Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) Children's Village on Oct. 16. The rapper's wife, Kim Kardashian West, posted a video on her Instagram Story of Kanye opening several duffel bags filled with the $220-a-pair shoes. "Yeezys for everyone," Kim can be heard saying in the clip.
Yella Beezy hospitalized after shooting on Texas freeway
Rapper Yella Beezy was hospitalized after being shot three times while driving on a highway in Lewisville, Texas, on Oct. 14. The 26 year old, whose real name is Deandre Conway, was driving on the Sam Rayburn Tollway when an unknown assailant pulled up next to him and opened fire, according to police.
All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert dead at 44
Oli Herbert, the longtime guitarist for All That Remains, died at 44 on Oct. 17, according to a statement released by his bandmates. "We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away. Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and songwriter who defined Rock and Metal from the Northeast. His impact on the genres and our lives will continue indefinitely," the group wrote on Instagram. Though his cause of death is currently unknown, TMZ reported that his body was found in a pond near his Connecticut home.
Eminem performs new single on top of Empire State Building
Eminem performed his new single, "Venom," on top of the Empire State Building in New York City during a special segment of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" A video posted to YouTube shows the rapper dropping bars while a light show goes on atop the observation deck of the building. The performance, which was filmed using a Google Pixel 3 camera, was a part of Jimmy's special Brooklyn-based show on Oct. 15.
Chance the Rapper goes undercover as Lyft driver to raise money for Chicago schools
Chance The Rapper disguised himself as an everyday Lyft driver to raise money for his arts and literature school program in Chicago on Oct. 15. The rapper went incognito while participating in "Undercover Lyft," a campaign that dresses up your favorite celebrities as Lyft drivers to promote the ride-sharing app's "Round Up & Donate" program. Riders are asked to round up their fare and donate the extra money to a charity of their choice — in this case, the Grammy winner's New Chance Arts and Literature Fund.
