Dee Snider calls out NFL for ignoring "heavy music" for Super Bowl Halftime Show
Music star and Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider called out the NFL for what he calls a lack of respect for heavy rock music. The singer took to Twitter on Sept. 27 after pop stars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were announced as the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show performers to express that he feels the genre of music that "rocks the stadiums week after week, game after game, is completely ignored." The reason why, Dee theorized, is because rock musicians "don't shake our a– enough!"

Three people charged with providing drugs that killed rapper Mac Miller
Prosecutors announced on Oct. 2 that three men previously arrested in connection with rapper Mac Miller's fatal September 2018 overdose have now been charged with providing the drugs that killed him. Stephen Walter, Cameron Pettit and Ryan Reavis are accused of conspiring and distributing the cocaine and oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl that led to Mac's death.

David Lee Roth axes Van Halen reunion rumors
After rumors of a potential Van Halen reunion swirled, singer David Lee Roth was quick to shoot them down, saying on the Sept. 30 "Talkin' Rock With Meltdown" podcast that the band is "finished." He continued, "Van Halen isn't going to be coming back in the fashion that you know. And, that being said, Eddie [Van Halen]'s got his own story to tell — not mine to tell it."
The Seattle home where Kurt Cobain died is on the market for $7.5 million
Late music star Kurt Cobain's Seattle home is back on the market with a price tag of $7.5 million, it was revealed on Oct. 2. The property is where the Nirvana frontman shot and killed himself on April 5, 1994. The four bedroom, four bathroom property was built in 1902. The greenhouse where Kurt died was torn down years ago on the order of his widow, Courtney Love.
Placido Domingo exits LA Opera amid harassment investigation
Iconic opera singer Placido Domingo has officially resigned as the general director of California's LA Opera, it was confirmed on Oct. 2. The music legend, who was accused of sexual harassment in August, said in a statement that "recent accusations that have been made against me in the press have created an atmosphere in which my ability to serve this company that I so love has been compromised. While I will continue to work to clear my name, I have decided that it is in the best interests of LA Opera for me to resign as its general director and withdraw from my future scheduled performances at this time." He'd held the position since 2003.
Lady Gaga says her upcoming album will be titled "Adele"
Lady Gaga sent fans into a tizzy when she announced on Oct. 1 with no further explanation that her new album will be titled "ADELE"… like the Grammy-winning British singer. Fans reacted with both confusion and excitement, with one tweeting, "Girl stop tweeting about your album and drop it already we are TIRED!"
Celebrity deaths
The legendary Mexican singer José José (pictured) died on Sept. 28 from pancreatic cancer. He was 71. World-renowned opera singer Jessye Norman passed away on Sept. 30 from septic shock and multi-organ failure secondary to complications of a spinal cord injury. She was 74. Grammy-nominated songwriter-producer Busbee (real name: Michael James Ryan), who's worked with country music artists including Maren Morris, Garth Brooks, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban, died on Sept. 29 at 43. Though a cause of death was not announced, a friend told Variety that Busbee had been diagnosed over the summer with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Kim Shattuck, lead singer of The Muffs passed away on Oct. 2 after a two-year battle with ALS. She was 56.
