2019 TV shows we can't wait to watch

New game shows! New soapy dramas! New reality competitions! 2019 is going to be the year of great television — we can just feel it. In anticipation of all the shows heading straight to our DVR in the New Year, Wonderwall.com is rounding up 19 must-watch shows of 2019. First up, a new offering from The Rock. We know that if you're like us, there's no such thing as too much Dwayne Johnson in your life. He'll be serving as the host on NBC's "The Titan Games," a sports competition series set to premiere on Jan. 3. Competitors will face endurance-based mental and physical challenges — and if they're able to come out victorious, they become a member of the Titans. CBS has a Nina Dobrev-led comedy on its lineup in 2019. It might surprise you that "The Newsroom" writer Corinne Kingsbury is behind a sitcom, but "FAM" promises to serve up laughs. Nina plays a newly engaged woman marrying into a fancy family whose youngest sister comes to live with her… and li'l sis happens to be a train wreck. It debuts Jan. 10.

Love "The Goldbergs"? You're in for double the laughs when spinoff "Schooled" joins the ABC lineup on Jan. 9. AJ Michalka stars on the show, which follows "The Goldbergs" character Lainey Lewis as she starts a new job teaching at her old high school. Bryan Callen (as Coach Mellor) and "Jane the Virgin" actor Brett Dier (as Charlie Brown) also star, with Tim Meadows playing Principal Glascott.

If you've been missing Mark-Paul Gosselaar on your television screen, we have great news for you! "The Passage" premieres Jan. 14 on FOX and features Mark-Paul as a federal agent tasked with delivering a little girl named Amy (played by Saniyya Sidney) to a medical facility to be a test subject. After he forms a bond with the girl, he vows to protect her at all costs, so expect a lot of drama on this one.

Need an addictive new CW drama to add to your schedule? "Roswell, New Mexico" should do the trick. It's adapted from the same book series that inspired The WB's late-'90s show "Roswell." Get ready to fall in love with an alien all over again when it debuts on Jan. 15. Nathan Parsons stars as Max Evans and Jeanine Mason stars as Liz Ortecho in this reboot.

James Corden is going primetime with a new talent competition series, "The World's Best," on CBS. The show, which premieres on Feb. 3 right after the Super Bowl, is hosted by the late-night comedian and has an all-star roster of judges — Drew Barrymore, RuPaul and Faith Hill. Talents of any genre are welcome, with the winner earning the title of, well, "The World's Best," obviously!

Got a Scott Foley void in your life now that "Scandal" is over? We know we do, which is why we're counting down the days until ABC's new drama "Whiskey Cavalier" debuts. Scott stars as Will Chase (code name: Whiskey Cavalier), an FBI agent who leads a team of spies, with "The Walking Dead" alum Lauren Cohan playing his partner, CIA operative Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge. We can't wait to see all the dangerous drama unfold beginning on Feb. 27!

There's always room for another legal drama on our DVR, so we'll warmly welcome "The Fix" when it premieres on ABC on March 18. The series is co-written and executive produced by one of the most famous lawyers in history, Marcia Clark from the O.J. Simpson murder case prosecution team. Robin Tunney and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje star.

A terrorist funding attacks via stolen treasures? If you're looking for a new action series to get hooked on, CBS's "Blood & Treasure" might fit the bill. Katie Winter and Michael James Shaw star on this adventure-filled series, which premieres in the summer of 2019.

Nick Cannon serves as the host of a new reality singing competition on FOX in 2019. "The Masked Singer," which debuts on Jan. 2, is based on a show from South Korea that hides famous performers in head-to-toe costumes, forcing people to guess whose voice they're hearing. Wondering who will be donning those disguises? Apparently, the undercover stars have a total of 65 Grammy nominations between them, so expect some incredible talent to be unmasked.

FOX's other reality competition offering is "Mental Samurai," an obstacle course competition show hosted by Rob Lowe. The catch? It's not just about navigating the obstacle course — you also have to answer knowledge-based questions along the way.

ABC's "Grand Hotel," which is based on the Spanish series "Gran Hotel," is a drama about a family-owned hotel in Miami Beach. If it's anything like its Spanish predecessor, it promises plenty of scandalous drama. Demian Bichir and Roselyn Sanchez star on the series, which premieres on June 17.

FOX's newest legal-drama offering is "Proven Innocent," which is set in a firm led by Madeline Scott (played by Rachelle Lefevre) — a one-time tabloid sensation who was exonerated in a high-profile legal case then went on to become a fierce lawyer. Intrigued by this unique premise? Check this one out when it debuts on Feb. 15.

Joining the NBC lineup this spring? "Abby's," a new comedy set in a San Diego bar based in the title character's very own backyard. Natalie Morales stars with Neil Flynn in the unique sitcom, which comes from "The Good Place" creator and executive producer Mike Schur.

True crime fans, listen up! One of the most infamous serial killers of all time is getting the Netflix treatment in January. "Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes" is a four-part look at the murderer's story that promises to take viewers "inside the mind of the infamous serial killer" starting on Jan. 24.

An "America's Got Talent" spinoff is headed to your TV in 2019! "America's Got Talent: The Champions" premieres Jan. 7 and features memorable contestants from previous seasons of the American franchise plus some from the show's worldwide versions. The U.S. show's regular judges — Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel — are all onboard to be judges on this version, with Terry Crews hosting.

Jennifer Carpenter is back on our TV screens in February starring on the new NBC drama "The Enemy Within." The show follows the story of Erica Shepherd, a former CIA operative who's been labeled a traitor to America and is forced to team up with FBI agent Will Keaton (played by Morris Chestnut) to hunt down a criminal with whom she's all too familiar. John Finn also co-stars.

In 2019, The CW will air "In the Dark," a new drama we think will have us hooked in no time. The show centers around a blind woman who serves as the only witness to her friend's murder. When police don't believe her story, she sets out to find the killer herself. Perry Mattfeld will be playing Murphy, the main character.

Been hoping for a new game show to watch? "Spin the Wheel" isn't a very inventive title, but watching people spin a 40-foot circle sounds entertaining. Dax Shepard will host the FOX show, which will see contestants competing to win $20,000,000. Yep — $20 million! Justin Timberlake serves as executive producer.
