Blake Shelton falls onstage following "a lot" of drinking

Blake Shelton was in the midst of performing at the Pendleton Whisky Music Fest in Oregon on July 15 when he took quite the spill onstage. The country music star explained what happened on Twitter. "OK Pendleton, I know somebody is bound to have video of me falling on stage last night!! … Please!! I have to see it!!! Post that s—! And yes, I had been drinking. A lot." A fan delivered the goods, which, of course, Blake retweeted with the caption: "That's it!!! I wish there was a closer one!!!"

Michelle Williams checks into mental health facility

Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams has checked into a mental health facility to deal with depression. "For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," she said in a statement released on July 17. "Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need."

Bruce Springsteen surprises fans during Billy Joel performance

Billy Joel was playing music for a packed house during his 100th lifetime performance at Madison Square Garden on July 18 when he told the audience he had a special guest to bring out, someone who'd won a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. The crowd was quick to start chanting "Bruce" and were rewarded when Bruce Springsteen emerged, telling his pal, "Congratulations, Billy, on your 100th show!" The two performed "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" and "Born to Run" before Bruce let Billy carry on.

Taylor Swift suffers stage malfunction in Philadelphia

While on her Philadelphia tour stop on July 14, Taylor Swift experienced a brief stage malfunction when a basket that was supposed to carry her across the stadium got stuck. But that didn't stop TayTay from enjoying her night. "So what you just saw was me going, like, straight up and down in this sparkly basket. It's supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium," she told the crowd during her show. "So what happens now is basically I'm just chilling waiting to figure out what happens next." The crew immediately started working to fix the problem and in the meantime, Taylor and her fans joined together for an impromptu a cappella rendition of "Our Song."

Philadelphia mayor calls JAY-Z/Made in America Festival controversy a "misunderstanding"

On July 18, JAY-Z made his displeasure known after learning the mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney, was planning to pull the rapper's annual Made in America music festival from its usual location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. "We are disappointed that the mayor of the city of Philadelphia would evict us from the heart of the city, through a media outlet, without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue or proper communication," the mogul wrote in an op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Now a rep for the mayor has released a followup statement. "The City of Philadelphia supports the Made in America festival and is greatly appreciative of all that it has done for Philadelphia," the statement reads. "We are committed to its continued success and thank them for their partnership. We hope to be able to resolve what has been an unfortunate misunderstanding. We are working with Roc Nation and Live Nation to resolve this issue and we are committed to continuing our partnership with the Made in America festival." Jay, your move.

Chance the Rapper purchased the website Chicagoist

Leave it to Chance the Rapper to announce new life news in a song! The Chicago native dropped four new tracks on July 18, and in one, he announced that he had purchased the website Chicagoist. WNYC confirmed that the rapper has indeed bought all the past assets and domains and plans to relaunch the website as soon as he can. Chance called the website "an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment."

Pussy Riot Members jailed and charged after storming field in World Cup match

Four members of the punk band Pussy Riot were jailed and charged with crimes after storming the field during the World Cup Final between France and Croatia on July 15. Nika Nikulshina, Olga Kurachyova, Olga Pakhtusova and Pyotr Verzilov are accused of violating spectator rules and illegally wearing police uniforms while carrying out their act of protest against human rights abuses. The offenses carry a maximum sentence of 15 days in jail and fines of about $200. So far, based on Twitter reports, lawyers have had a hard time meeting with the Pussy Riot members and no information has been shared about a court date.

Tom Jones cancels concert after falling ill

The show won't go on! Tom Jones had to cancel a July 18 concert at Britain's Stansted Park after falling ill. "Unfortunately, Sir Tom is unwell and has been advised by doctors not to perform," his team announced on Twitter, promising refunds. The show was one of six that would see the Welsh pop legend perform at some of the country's most stately homes and historic locations. Since wrapping "The Voice UK," the 78-year-old singer has been on the road for a 26-date European tour, which is fueling speculation that he's suffering from exhaustion.
