FOX "considering options" following Jussie Smollett arrest

On Feb. 21, FOX released a statement saying that it's "considering our options" in the wake of actor Jussie Smollett's arrest on a felony charge of filing a false police report and allegations that the 36-year-old actor staged an attack on himself because he was "dissatisfied with his salary" for the FOX series "Empire," on which he's starred since 2015. A day before the arrest, FOX said that Jussie "is not being written out of the show," though on Feb. 22, the network announced that it was removing his character from the final two episodes of the season "to avoid further disruption on set."

Wendy Williams sets March 4 return to syndicated talk show

Wendy Williams is set to return to her eponymous daytime talk show on March 4 following a six-week medical leave, producers of "The Wendy Williams Show" announced on Feb. 21.

"Jessica Jones," "The Punisher" canceled as Netflix completes Marvel purge

Netflix announced on Feb. 18 that it's not moving forward with more seasons of "Jessica Jones" or "The Punisher," effectively ending its relationship with Marvel TV. The second season of "The Punisher" debuted in January, while the third season of "Jessica Jones" has finished production, though Netflix has yet to announce an air date. The streamer previously canceled its other Marvel series: "Daredevil," "Iron Fist," "Luke Cage" and "The Defenders."

Alec Baldwin suggests Trump's latest attack on "Saturday Night Live" could be "a threat to my safety"

Following Alec Baldwin's latest impression of Donald Trump on the Feb. 16 episode of "Saturday Night Live," the former star of "The Apprentice" tweeted, "Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!" The talk of "retribution" prompted the Emmy-winning actor to tweet, "I wonder if a sitting President exhorting his followers that my role in a TV comedy qualifies me as an enemy of the people constitutes a threat to my safety and that of my family?"

Heidi Klum tweets goodbye to "America's Got Talent"

Heidi Klum took to Twitter on Feb. 18 — the day "America's Got Talent: The Champions" came to an end — to say goodbye to the NBC reality show, on which she's served as a judge since 2013. "I wanted to say THANK YOU 🙏🏻 ❤️ and how amazing the past 6 years have been while working on @AGT … I love my fellow judges, our hosts & AMAZING CREW 😘… It's been such an incredible experience and I will miss ALL OF YOU very much! I will be watching and voting from home!" she captioned a photo of herself with fellow judges Mel B, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell, as well as new host Terry Crews. The German supermodel also tweeted a video montage of her time on "AGT," which she captioned with a heart emoji.

Shooting of former "ER" actress Vanessa Marquez prompts wrongful death claim

Vanessa Marquez's mother has filed a wrongful death claim against the City of South Pasadena following the former "ER" star's death at age 49 on Aug. 30, 2018. Police fatally shot the actress (pictured in 1996) after she allegedly pulled out a "BB-type" gun during a welfare check at her home. Deadline reported on Feb. 20 that Vanessa's mother is also considering filing a claim against the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which investigated the shooting.

"Property Brothers" Jonathan and Drew Scott get yet another HGTV series

HGTV has ordered "Property Brothers: Forever Home," a new series from "Property Brothers" twins Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott. The new show, which is set to debut on May 29, will chronicle the brothers' efforts to makeover and renovate homes in which their clients are already settled rather than helping them find a new home or flip a home.
