Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce dies at 20

"Descendants" and "Jessie" star Cameron Boyce died in his sleep on July 6 due to a seizure that was the result of an ongoing medical condition — later revealed to be epilepsy — his family announced in a heart-wrenching statement released to multiple media outlets. He was just 20.

Vanessa Lachey posts first pic with "BH90210" husband Jason Priestley

Vanessa Lachey took to Instagram on July 7 to share the first photo of herself as her "BH90210" alter ego. In the selfie, the actress is sitting on a patio alongside her on-screen husband, Jason Priestley, who will be playing a version of himself on the upcoming dramedy. "Introducing Mrs. Jason Priestley… or am I Mrs. Brandon Walsh?! One month until the premiere of @bh90210!!! August 7th you'll see what I'm talking about & you WON'T be disappointed! We're cookin' up some juicy stuff!!! #DreamJob!" she captioned the snap teasing the mysterious new show, which reportedly centers around the former stars of "Beverly Hills, 90210" reuniting to shoot a reboot of the iconic '90s melodrama.

Dog The Bounty Hunter's son injured on first manhunt following Beth Chapman's death

Dog The Bounty Hunter's son, Leland Chapman, landed in an Adams County, Colorado, hospital on July 9 after he tore his ACL while confronting bail jumper Edward Morales, who was charged with domestic violence and pleaded guilty to harassment in June but then skipped out on a recent hearing, leading to a warrant for his arrest. A witness told The Blast that Morales "fought like hell," but ultimately, Dog and his team — who were on their first manhunt since Dog's wife, Beth Chapman, died on June 26 — were able to subdue him and take him into custody. Leland, meanwhile, was taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital. According to The Blast, he'll undergo knee surgery sometime next week and will then be out of commission for around six weeks. WGN America cameras captured the whole ordeal for the famed bounty hunter's upcoming show "Dog's Most Wanted," on which Leland is also set to star.

Anna Gunn details "extreme sexism" she encountered during "Breaking Bad"

During an interview with London's Evening Standard that hit the Internet in early July, Anna Gunn revisited the "extreme sexism" she faced from "Breaking Bad" fans while starring as Skyler White, the long-suffering wife of Bryan Cranston's megalomaniacal meth chemist Walter White, from 2008 to 2013. Said the two-time Emmy winner of the fan reaction to Skyler, which prompted her to write a 2013 op-ed for The New York Times, "I came to understand what it was, which was just the undercurrent of extreme sexism. The idea of gender roles being so deeply ingrained — it was shocking to me. But I'm not sorry it happened, because it put me out on the other side going, 'Huh, that's really interesting.' And I felt compelled to say something, not necessarily for myself, but for my daughters and other women. The vehemence of it, and the fact that it was just allowed — it was the id gone wild." The actress — who received death threats because her on-screen alter ego refused to submit to her husband — went on to express her shock that no matter the atrocities Walt committed, "the audience continued to side with him" over Skyler.

Ethan Hawke posts about daughter on "Stranger Things"

Ethan Hawke took to Instagram on July 7 to call attention to daughter Maya Hawke's breakout performance as Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor employee Robin on Season 3 of "Stranger Things." In the caption of a promotional video of the 21-year-old actress — whose mother is the actor's ex-wife, Uma Thurman — as her on-screen alter ego, the four-time Oscar nominee wrote, "Some of you may have missed her in last year's BBC production of 'Little Women.' Some of you may have missed her work at Juilliard. I know many missed out on numerous high school productions — heck I even missed a few and I'm her father. Some of you may know her music, some may not. But Ladies & Gentleman, get to know MAYA HAWKE. She's the real thing."

New "The Walking Dead" series casts three lead roles

Variety reported on July 10 that three young actors — 23-year-old "Unfriended: Dark Web" star Alexa Mansour, 15-year-old "Sofia the First" voice actor Nicolas Cantu and 19-year-old Australian newcomer Hal Cumpston, who recently wrote and starred in the independent comedy "Bilched" — have been cast in lead roles on the upcoming second spinoff of "The Walking Dead," which will reportedly center around two female protagonists, as well as the first generation coming of age in the apocalypse. (A second lead female has yet to be cast.) According to Variety, Alexa will star as "a good-natured rule breaker who lives for today" and "is likable and funny on the outside but sad on the inside." Nicolas will portray a character who has a black belt in karate and "is small for his age in addition to being friendly and an old soul." Hal's character is reportedly "big for his age" and "a shy loner that scares some kids" but "hates the fact that he scares people."

Whoopi says "The View" isn't enough: "10 years is a long time"

During an interview with The New York Times that hit the Internet on July 3, Whoopi Goldberg didn't mince words when asked how she's creatively fulfilled by "The View," on which she's appeared since 2007: "It's my job," she said, explaining that the talk show has limited her opportunities to act. "It's not [enough]," she continued, adding that "10 years is a long time" to work on just one project. The Oscar winner did acknowledge, however, that "in a way," she's "playing a role" on "The View." Explained the two-time Emmy winner, "These are not conversations that I'm having with my friends. If they were, we'd be doing it differently. My friends and I can talk about things in depth in a different way than you can on television."

Katherine Heigl addresses possible return to "Grey's Anatomy"

During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that hit the Internet on July 8, Katherine Heigl said that she hasn't thought about her "Grey's Anatomy" alter ego, Izzie Stevens, "in years." Said the actress when asked if she'd ever consider reprising her role on the medical drama, "That's a tough one. … I don't know if I would or if I wouldn't. … I almost feel like that would be distracting to what they've done with that show in the seven years since I left and what that's become and what it is to the fans now. It would just be kind of like, 'Yeah, we already let that go. Why are you here?'"
