Wendy Williams has no sympathy for Duchess Meghan
On the Oct. 22 episode of her eponymous talk show, Wendy Williams slammed Duchess Meghan over certain comments the former "Suits" star made in "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey." In the documentary, which aired in Britain on Oct. 20 and America on Oct. 23, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about how much she's struggled with adjusting to life as a mom and wife while facing constant scrutiny from the British tabloid press — which she says her British friends warned her would "destroy your life" if she married Prince Harry. "I'm American. We don't have that there. … I didn't get it," she says. That didn't sit well with Wendy: "Meghan, nobody feels sorry for you. You knew what you were signing up for, girl!" said the hostess before describing the friend who warned Meghan off marrying Harry as "some hating-a– girlfriend." Continued Wendy, "I applaud her plot-ation on the royal situation. But please, don't try to garner sympathy from us. You knew what you were doing." She also accused Meghan of "lying to try and get sympathy." Added Wendy of the tabloid fixation on the former actress, "You're now a royal. They weren't following you when you were on 'Suits.' We didn't even know who you were except when you came for employment here at 'Wendy' and wanted to be one of our runway models." Wendy has claimed in the past that during Meghan's early days as an actress, she applied for a job on "The Wendy Williams Show."

"Days of Our Lives" star John Clarke dies at 88
John Clarke — who portrayed Mickey Horton on "Days of Our Lives" from 1965 to 2004 — died of complications from pneumonia in Laguna Beach, California, on Oct. 16. He was 88. According to Deadline, the actor's health had been in decline since he suffered a stroke in 2007.

"Devastated" Christie Brinkley sobbed over daughter Sailor's elimination from "Dancing With the Stars"
Following her elimination from "Dancing With the Stars" on Oct. 21, Sailor Brinkley-Cook shared an emotional phone call with her mother, Christie Brinkley, the 21 year old told USA Today. "She was sobbing on the phone when I spoke to her after. It was as devastating for her as it was for me," said the blonde beauty. "She just didn't expect it. And this was the one week she didn't come watch the show. This was just an unexpected twist." Sailor went on to describe her elimination as "shocking." Said the aspiring model, "It was crazy, we were at our highest. … I felt I had controlled my stage fright for the first time. And I was elated after that. … I just didn't think I was going to go home. That was the hardest part. I really didn't expect it. And I was riding the high of a really great night." Sailor filled in for her mom in the competition after Christie suffered a major injury during rehearsals a few days before Season 28 debuted in September.

Giuliana Rancic is leaving full-time role at E! News as show moves to New York City
Giuliana Rancic took to Instagram on Oct. 23 to announce that she'll be saying goodbye to her full-time role at E! News when the show moves from Los Angeles to New York City in January. "Returning to E! News this last year was an incredible homecoming," the hostess captioned a photo of herself and her son, Duke. "I've decided I won't be able to make this big move at this time. I love E! News but what's best for my family, as well as my current schedule, just won't allow for the commitment a daily show takes. … In order to properly serve [my other business endeavors], flexibility is paramount. And nothing is more important than spending time with my family, which we are hoping to grow soon." Giuliana — who returned to E! News in September 2018 after a break of more than three years — concluded by saying that she'll continue to host many of E!'s upcoming red carpet specials. She also promised "to pop into E! News from time to time."
"The Mothers-in-Law" and "The White Shadow" actor Jerry Fogel dies at 83
Jerry Fogel — who starred on the late '60s NBC sitcom "The Mothers-in-Law" — died at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri, on Oct. 21. He was 83. According to Deadline, the actor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008.
"The Facts of Life" stars reunite for Lifetime holiday movie
Former "The Facts of Life" stars Mindy Cohn, Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields and Nancy McKeon are reuniting in the upcoming Lifetime original "Light Up My Christmas," which is set to debut on Dec. 1. According to People magazine, Kim is executive producing the made-for-TV movie, which is based on a true story. She'll also star as Emma, who returns to her hometown two weeks before Christmas and makes it her personal mission to restore the town's holiday spirit … while reconnecting with a former flame, of course! "It's been amazing to work together again and have the ladies' input on their characters from their wardrobe to names, as well as provide fun inside jokes for fans," Kim told People, adding that she also had an ice-skating rink in the movie named after fellow "The Facts of Life" co-star Charlotte Rae, who died in mid-2018. "We truly are a family so it was great to work together on something new!" she said.
First show on Chip and Joanna Gaines' new Magnolia network will feature Johnnyswim
On Oct. 22, Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines announced that the first new show on their upcoming Magnolia network will be a docuseries centered around the couple's favorite band, Johnnyswim — folk duo Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez, who are married — and their life on the road with their two young children. The six-episode series, "Home on the Road," will debut when Magnolia launches in October 2020.
Inside Megyn Kelly's fight against NBC amid new Matt Lauer allegations
During an interview with Us Weekly that hit the Internet on Oct. 23, Megyn Kelly slammed her former employer, NBC News, over the way execs handled allegations of sexual misconduct against Matt Lauer, questioning why the network conducted an internal investigation rather than hiring outside investigators to look into the scandal: "Comcast, which owns NBC Universal, is a $200 billion company," she said. "There is zero reason why with those resources — and if NBC truly has nothing to hide — it should not hire an outside investigator to look into the allegations that NBC executives have facilitated and covered up a culture of sexual harassment and abuse. … Sunlight is the best disinfectant, which is why firms like CBS, Fox News, NPR and the NFL hired outside investigators to look into similar claims." Multiple key players in the scandal have alleged that NBC brass covered up the accusations against Lauer in order to protect the newsman, who was then the network's biggest star.
